Great picks Brad! The insulated socks/booties are awesome and work great to keep your feet warm. I always bring them in cold weather. The 1/8 foam pad is wonderful. Earlier last year I bought a new one that is foldable/accordion version. So when you open it up it stays flat and doesn’t rile up. I was eying up the Plex Solo. My concern is I’m old and getting in and out would be an issue because the opening seems low. Do you find it an issue?
Great comment. Yeah, that is my only issue with the Plex Solo. It has a low entrance. But, I like it better than the Altaplex, Becuase it has the Diamond shape and you can get all your gear in the tent. I can’t see me using any other tent going forward. It checks all the boxes and mostly…weight…at 13 ounces…hard to beat. Thanks for watching it Dan. ✌️
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING have you seen the bonfus middus 1p? Its similar to those two tents, but its double walled and both sections can be pitched individually. So you can see the sky if you want, or have a more tarp like experience. Its been one of my pieces of gear to aspire for.
Gear in common.. zero degree EE quilt. I have the Revelation. I also use the GG pad and the Helinox Zero Chair. I have a different trekking pole tent. I use the Durston Xmid 1p. Thanks for this video. I love to see what other folks are using.
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING Mine is the second gen version. I've had it for three seasons.. I love it. There is a learning curve to set it up and pack it up. I do not have the 1 pound pro version. I am too cheap so I carry the 2 pound version lol
Nice list of favorite gear. One piece we have in common is the Nitecore NU25 original version. I love that thing and I see no reason to upgrade. I use mine every day for the early morning walk before daybreak. If it ever shoots craps I’ll probably steal the wife’s and get her the new version 😂 ✌️
I had the original and lost it. I bought the new one to replace it, opened it, used it and then found the old one. I now own both, since I can’t return the new one. They both have their good points, but I prefer the old one. The old one has simpler controls, and is a bit smaller and lighter weight. It’s also the only headlamp that I’ve seen with a high and low red beam. The new one is brighter and has usb-c recharging. It also has LED lights that let you know how much juice it has left that are much easier to use than the old one. If they had just added usb-c and the new battery life indicator to the old lamp, they would have the perfect product IMO. As is, I’d rate the old one #1 and the new one #2 of the lamps I’ve used.
Watch that chair around the fire. It's so light that a slight breeze tipped my Helinox to the fire and before I could even catch it, it went up like tissue paper soaked in gasoline. I had to buy a replacement seat. Lesson learned and now I pay particular attention to it.
Ain’t nuthin wrong with Fannie packs on backpacking trips. I use a cheap one from Ozark Trail and it carries camera gear, most importantly the lens wipe cloth.
I have several bags. I think the last one I purchased was the large or xtra large for my quilt. It has a snap and roll top. I love that bag. Is that the one you are talking about?
I can’t remember which size I got. It may have been the medium. I watched a video on their website and got the one Ben recommended for a dirty bag. Sorry, can’t remember. ✌️

Haven’t seen that one yet. I’ll check it out. That sounds awesome. 👍🏻
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING I've only found like 1 review for it. So, if you do get it I'd love to see a review. :)
Great overview of your favorite gear, Crow. Have a blessed week.

Nice choices! 🥾🐾
Thanks my friend. ✌️
Nice gear. My favorite is probably my Outdoor Research Aerogel booties. Has a rubbery bottom to walk around in.
Those sound like good camp shoes. 👍🏻
@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING Definitely. I put those on after getting out of wet trail runners. They make great house slippers too 😄
Great stuff my friend!
Thanks Tim! How are you buddy. ✌️
@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING Doing well bud! Badlands summer again.
Nice! Some good gear you have there.✌️
Thanks my friend! This was fun to do. ✌️
nice.
🙏
That is some great gear. I still don't see how you can sleep on a 20" wide pad. 😄
I just take a Tylenol PM and sleep…😂

I know it's not in this video but what size hilltop dry bag do you use for your storage systems?

@@ASTHECROWFLIESHIKING no more like a ditty bag is the small too small?

Medium or medium tall are the sizes Hilltop recommends for ditty bags.
My black bic lighter is my favorite. 🦑
