These decluttering videos are so satisfying for me. Recently I just decluttered my whole room. I tend to get into phases where I’m addicted to certain things and I go full on obsessed/collectors mentality. I decluttered like 30 nailpolishes, 20 lip products. I’m getting into perfume now and I’m realizing that I just don’t have the budget to be buying perfumes left and right. After donating/throwing out so many things and feeling guilty for how much I spent on all of them, I’m definitely going to me more mindful of my future purchases.
I refuse to buy their lotions/body creams. I put some Cerave moisturizing cream in my hand, then spray that pile of lotion in my hand well with whatever body mist I’m wearing that day, then slather it all over my body. Then I spray my body and clothes with the mist. That way I get the moisture from a quality lotion, I get to make the lotion as strongly-scented as I want, and I save money and space on BBW 😂
Won't this ruin the notes of the fragrance? I hear people saying "don't rub your wrists when you spray perfume" since it ruins the the notes so wouldn't rubbing your mists and fragrances do the same?
I used to buy their body creams once in a while. I thought they were better than the lotion because they’re thicker so I assumed they were more moisturizing. I recently bought some of their body lotions (on sale) and man I’ve been wrong all along. My skin drinks up the thinner consistency, they soak in fast so you never feel sticky and wet and they actually do moisturize. They’re only like $3-$4 when you shop sales. They’re actually cheaper than any drug store lotions I used to use that made me feel sticky for a while after plus they smell better. I’ve been converted. I don’t love their body mists tho, it seems pointless when the scent of the mist disappears from your body in minutes. I never understood body mists, to me they’re juvenile, like a fun thing pre teens can use to feel like a grown up wearing perfume.
It would be neat to see a project use it up from you! Or scents you’re focused on using up. I just did a HUGE declutter on my channel and it felt so so good to get rid of things I’m not using
There is a cycle to shopping addictions, ( addicted to B&Bw here✋)for a little while you can stop and tell yourself that you are going to concentrate on what you have ,( more then you’ll use up in a lifetime) ,but then weeks or months later you start up again .I only buy during the $5- $6 sales so I tell myself it’s okay then 😂
Yup. The same thing happened with me and now I have a YT channel talking about body care. But I’ve been winding down on the spending. I have a lot of products to try to use up and I’m honest with my viewers so that they can have things they enjoy and not end up with a whole bunch of stuff like me.
FYI, there's a small family owned business in Texas (Candles By Victoria) that sells candles and melts (obviously) but I'm mentioning it because they have over 1,000 scents and they make body butters, laundry soap, body sprays and now perfume and you can get most of her products in ANY SCENT you can possibly imagine. I have a ton of them and they're AWESOME. The prices are amazing, too!
That had me laughing about vanilla bean noel smells like Doo Doo 🤣🤣 cause when i smelt it at the store i was like alright lemme see why everyone's saying why this stinks and i was like BLEH girl nah this smells like cacadoodle doo! Lol and understood why so many was in the 3.95 bin cause nobody wanted them! 🤣
Omg so the eos Shea better body lotion vanilla cashmere scent is an exact dupe for Vanilla Bean Noel, and the Cheirosa 71 Sol de Janeiro body mist is very similar to vanilla bean noel. I pair those two together in place of vanilla bean noel and it lasts WAY longer, and I get tons of compliments.
I enjoy some of the bath and body works. I like the small sprays now. It’s easy to get through and if you have a few bottles, you actually make a dent lol
Scents are sensory ingredients to Life. Think of your scents as recipe ingredients or an artist's paints. We need to start creating and experiencing who we are and what we want out of scent-ual expression.
When I was still at my parents house, bath and body lotions were sometimes the only way I could wear scent (my mom is sensitive and prone to migraines). Now that I am exploring scent as an adult, I never buy lotions. I just use an unscented lotion that I spray my perfume over. I want a lotion that I know will actually help my skin, and I do not trust lotions where their primary purpose is to smell nice to do that. You just mentioned differentiating the scents you want to smell like from what you want your space to smell like, and that was a big thing I learned last year. I ended up getting rid of my Hidden Fantasy and a dupe of Good Girl because I thought they smelled nice, but I would have preferred them as a candle. I also feel like that about Guess Seductive Noir (I know, that is sacrilege on this channel!) And also a little bit about Choco Musk, but that one I either wear to bed or spray on my pillow. These days, Bath and Body Works scents all have something in the background that puts me off, and makes me sick. I wish I could enjoy them like so many seem to, but I just can't.
So off course I had to smell Poppy - and realized it makes a great spring scent. Now it's in my rotation.😜 Ugghhh, I LOVE Beach Nights. It smells exactly like how a summer evening (should) smell to me. Also have been on the hunt for Hope😭. I have a Seriously hard time decluttering my B&BW - even if I Know it's going/going to go bad. I def need help with that!😆😆
I’m the opposite if I buy a spray I have to have at least 2 or 3 of the lotions or creams because I find it really makes the scent last but yet I still layer perfume on top of most of them because there’s some of their scents that are just weak. My husband was laughing at me the other day because I pulled out strawberry pound cake lotion and spray and copper coconuts sands lotion and spray. I mixed the lotions and did a layer of each spray then went in with juicy couture bowdacious. I pile the lotion on it’s ridiculous of me but it’s just a habit I can’t break
@xaiyu4104 That doesn't seem ridiculous to me at all. Layering, whether you do so with perfumes, with bodymists, creams or a combination of those, is a wonderful bit of fragrance mixology & chemistry. You're not just creating your own preferred scent, but you're actually making sure you have ample projection and longevity. Which, with BBW, is severely lacking for the majority of people's skin when you just use the mist ( [spray] "Ah, that smells nic-... wait, where did it go?"). Which is what you've figured out as well. Expecially if you have dry skin to begin with, your habit seems to be more self-care + simply making sure you're actually smelling like a snack than anything else. Btw, I'm always a bit miffed when I hear that people's SO's laugh at them when they're not truly doing sth weird. I assume he likes how you smell? Perhaps break the habit for 1 day and just use 1 lotion and 1 mist and that's it (do it on a relax day at home with him when you're not going anywhere so you won't feel like you're missing out on smelling fab). I'm sure he'll notice a difference he won't like. Then you can tell him your lathering & slathering is not so crazy after all ;). But that is just me. I like to be found in the right, 😆.

I got rid of ALL of my bath&bw .. I turned 31 and I just don't like realy anything by them anymore! My taste probably changed over the years. I do have a few Victoria's secret mistst
My daughter took my only Little Black Party Dress to wear to a wedding & never returned her😢! Now all I have is the lotion which I adore 🥰. I am still salty abt my mist tho! I used up the cream for Secret Wonderland & this mist is almost done for too. I want it out of my collection so it’s sitting here at my night job gettin used up!
Hi i'm from chile and i love your vídeos ...i can't believe that you get ride off poppy ...i think smell pretty similar to Valentino Donna born in Roma... And its a great layering combo...
Thank you for sharing Ksenja. I only use BBW body creams and lotions. Usually Rose. Occasionally Japanese Cherry Blossom. When available I also loved and used French Lavender (with honey?), White Citrus and Honey based creams in the tubs. I never buy their perfumes nor mists.
Regularly reorganize. Throw a lot of energy into shopping your store and creating combos. Expand your enjoyment and not your collection. That is my 2023, so far, in fragrance.
Hey Ksenja, I haven't watched yet but just wanted to let you know I didn't get a notification for this video, even though my notifications are set to "All." Just in case you need this info for your stats. It's not the first time, either.
I use their body cream bc I feel like their body cream formula is better than their lotions. I don't like their lotion for some reason, I find it to be too runny and sticky. Idk. But I go through the creams very fast so I don't feel bad buying a ton of them! Lol, I know it will get used. The body mist however take me forever to go through so I only either buy travel size or wait for a big sale to buy them.
I decluttered about five of my perfumes, gave them to my MIL. It's also SO hard for me to part with any scent lol. Right now I'm on a strict no buy and just enjoying going through my already ridiculous (for me) collection (about 30 perfumes/50 body sprays) and just focusing on using what I already have, which will take me awhile 😅

That's sounds like a fantastic idea. I'll definitely give it a go tomorrow morning for sure. Thanks.
Won't this ruin the notes of the fragrance? I hear people saying "don't rub your wrists when you spray perfume" since it ruins the the notes so wouldn't rubbing your mists and fragrances do the same?
I add body oil to the lotion coz spraying all that alcohol from the mist irritates and dries my skin 😢

I do the exact same thing!! I want actual moisture for my skin so I’ll use my unscented body lotion with a dab of BBW body cream and it’s perfect!
It would be neat to see a project use it up from you! Or scents you’re focused on using up. I just did a HUGE declutter on my channel and it felt so so good to get rid of things I’m not using

Omg! You’re getting rid of beach nights! I can’t ever find it!
I found the beach nights shower gels during semi annual sale, so I had to go on Mercari to complete my set! 🥴🤣

White pumpkin Chai is soooo good. You're right. It's not pumpkiny at all, but just perfect for fall
I think it would be fun for you to do an “outfits that go with certain fragrances” because I have a hard time matching my fragrances to my outfits 😅
Omg this
