- This is part 1 of our mini series. "Exploring China and Beyond" where we travel the pan handle of asia to search for rare and exotic fish, reptiles and much more. This episode we walk the fish markets to find that gold gem in the sand. It's amazing that such banned species here in the US are being sold for food in china for as little as a few dollars.

Huh? Have you seen American commercial fishing. This is why all other countries call us dumb Americans. Look to your own home before talking down on other "cultures". They may have cramped space for their food, but their bombs are not blowing children to pieces.
I know humans have to eat but looking at some of fish in those tanks is probably the reason certain fish are disappearing from our oceans #crazy
...as a fish, frog, turtle keeper that was hard to watch. I'm not a child, I understand how the world works. Hey, people got to eat. I get it. But it's still hard to watch. I'm sure your heart did a few double beats too. It was an interesting video and thank you for sharing.

id get a 5000gallon saltwater tank just for those fish and crabs they see as food..Sad seein all those fish cramped up just waiting rest of their lives to be sliced up and burned up....Imagine that is what hell is like
I feel the same way about cows, pigs, and chickens in this country. Animals are not food.

Don't these fish get super stressed being shipped in those containers for a length of time??? Seeing that many fish crammed into on tank was making me feel really stressed out for all those fish. I guess that's how they do it in China :(

People who says that these poor fish are kept in cramped conditions. Do they know where chicken, beef, eggs and other animals comes from and what type of conditions they're kept in? What you see on your dinner plates and fast food shop dont tell u the whole story.

Cool fish, but hate the conditions in these markets. Chinese supermarkets in NYC sell a lot of these freshwater fish live but the tanks are tiny, the conditions just suck.

Quite honestly, this video is so heartbreaking for me. All these fishes should not be in cages. They should be swimming wild and free in the ocean or river or the pond. And they way the handled the fishes, I think it’s cruel. They just throw them like pieces of garbage. I can never un see the stuff I’ve seen. I wish I’ve never seen it. Although they are all beautiful but it’s heartbreaking to watch.
