    I honestly like the design of this generation much more than the new one. This one kind of has a maddened and unhinged look on the with the headlights that I love.

I've been dreaming about riding for the longest time now and on this very date I am a proud owner of a 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 with a SEXY Two Brother's Slip on. Thank you so much for the videos and inspiration and continue to ride safe.

    I just bought an S1000RR last week. I went from a GSX-R 600 to this bike. There are no regrets here. in the beginning when you seen the lights flashing that means the traction control and the ABS are on. if you push and hold the button until the stay lit up they turn off and then that lagging feel in throttle goes away and you think to yourself that the traction control needs to stay on. Great 1st ride video man. Peace.

    it has combined breaking, when you use the front brake, it uses the rear brake aswell. So you don't ever use the rear brake unless you're like in a hill or something.

    Couldn't agree more, this bike is nothing less than a monster that's disguised as a masterpiece. If I'm not mistaken i think they updated the bike a little in 2013 before the major update in 2015. Whats interesting for this bike being so well received by the public and being fast on track, Honda is actually giving BMW a run for their money in WSBK (leading BMW by 61 points)....The more you know

    He needs to check the tire pressure at the beginning of each ride and set them to the desired pressure each time. Each ride I keep hearing him talk about how much the bike leans over, etc, but he doesn't realize that it's due to the tire profile and pressure. He should eliminate the variability by keeping tire pressure constant.
    Upvote this so he sees it, it's very important.

    This was 7 years ago and just imagine how close the new 2023 s1000RR could be a touring machine because the handlebars are now even closer to you than this bike that you are riding in this video !! I sat on the new 2023 s1000RR and with the kickstand down I simply pushed my big body frame forward and could totally see how this new 2023 s1000rr could literally allow a person to be "upright" on long distances...

      They thought about it in 08 but backed out because someone had the name (s600rr). Then they but their money's together and found out it would hurt the company if the went in production. Already having a successful super bike in a 1000cc class would be back stepping so to speak.#bmwmeanbusiness#germanpowered

    Chase some technical feedback from a 2013 and 2015 S1000RR owner:
    The throttle issue you described : the older RRs had some issues with a lot of play in the throttle. That can be fixed with a screw driver. Try it out when the bike is running and stationary. 2015 and beyond is full ride by wire and has that issue not anymore.
    You also don't need to use the rear brake ever unless you are on a hill stopped or on a race track, as the bike has an integrated brake which means it uses the rear automatically when you use the front lever.
    The flashing of abs and traction control at the start of the bike will only go away after you drive faster than 5 mph I think it is.

    • @vasilisgreen
      @vasilisgreen 5 років тому

      What do you mean "full ride by wire"? I mean, I really despise ride by wire and I've dismissed this bike from my wish list because of it. I mean, everywhere I look I find that this bike is a ride by wire bike, yet it has cables? How does it work?

    You can adjust the rear brake peddle height if you like to use the rear. I usually have mine disconnected so the rear brake doesn't work at all. There's probably too much free play in the throttle cable too, that's why you have to twist it a bit before it responds.

    Rear brake feels off because it is electronically linked to the front brake. If you apply both manually, you are interfering with the electronic distribution. Rear brake alone for slow speed control, front brake for stopping power. Splits the braking so that you don't stoppie or lock.

    Chase you should test the 2015 or 2016 S1000RR. It's a very different experience mainly because of the semi active suspension.
    And in my eyes it looks better! You will really fall in love with it even more than this 2012!

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but the front brake lever also applies rear breaks on the s1000rr. So the rear brake lever at the foot is really only a backup.

    For everyone that sees this video, the rear brake was intended not to be used unless ur on a hill thats why its still there. Bmw developed a new technology , its called combine brakeing. So basically when you press the front brake leaver you also activate the rear brake.

  • @elvisgonzalez7YT
    @elvisgonzalez7YT 8 років тому

    The vibrating when you're going slow is normal when in Race Mode, that mode is just for going fast, wich obviusly makes sense

    You can also change a plug under the seat which activates slick mode and unlocks the full potential of the bike but you must buy this separately

    Hi Chase! Been waiting for a FR on the S1000RR, so happy you finally did one! Another awesome video as always :D I've been watching Yammie Noob's channel too and I'd love to get your opinion on the Triumph Daytona 675R which he rides. Would you be able to do a FR on that bike?

  • @SteveC-Shaman

    I agree on the brakes, they are too aggressive. I had a big 120mph crash on track a week ago friday due to aggressive brakes, you can do the same and ABS may not save you. Being able to modulate braking power is much better. I find the S1000RR feels much like a GSXR in all senses - big, comfy and soft... but it isn't really soft. I didn't like the throttle either but it can be adjusted to a point. I also found the bike very confidence-boosting but perhaps too much so as the feedback is almost always "GO FASTER" when you may already be over your head. Again, a GSX-R trait, and related to the rake/trail setup on the front of the bike. I've owned two RSV4s and I prefer them - and also prefer the R1 though I dislike how it looks. Jury is still out on the 1299, but I wouldn't take the 1199 over one. For me, though - I found the engine to be quite uninvolving until you are trying to get it to warp speed. Something you really can't say about the RSV4 or the new R1 (though the throttle on the R1 is really, really whacky). I have not had an opportunity to try the 2015 version but I'm told I would prefer it for multiple reasons. Straight line, all the models re-designed for 2015+ will hold on to the S1000RR within feet (well, once you flash the ZX10R and R1 they will) and frankly that's not the point of a sport bike. 2015+ "new model" superbikes are all literally race bikes that not much has to be done to in order to race. As I actually do race and take podiums, I can tell you for a fact that my RSV4 RF just needs race fairings, safety wiring and some Z04 brake pads to win races, nothing else - not even suspension replacements, which virtually all the other bikes will require (R1M is not race legal for most classes, though it might qualify for some like Open Sprint). Anyway, good that you noticed and recognised many of the bike's true qualities good/bad. Hope you get a chance to try a RSV4 RR/RF or 1299 soon, will be happy to watch.
