This interview happened sooner than it was released btw. Plus it was a dirty question I don't need to explain. No matter what he said people would spin it. As far as leadership is concerned, it has to be LeBron. LeBron always has been a good leader to all of his teams. He plays like a coach, facilitates, making plays etc. Kobe in the other hand is so great that he influenced his teammates to win. He's so great as an individual player that his teammates just follows his mentality.

Kobe would be my guess for the hardest working basketball player ever. But at the same time, it's a very vague claim. It's impossible to compare something that we don't know. For all we know there are guys in the G league who work harder than any of these guys but just don't have the talent to compete at their level. In terms of speculation I would like to believe Michael Jordan put in the most work in order to master his all around game of footwork/ shooting/ defense. But how much of that was just natural "god given talent and freak athleticism?" LeBron surely outworks every player on the court every time he touches it, and it shows in the numbers. Does that translate to practice? Or does LeBron just have a better "Basketball IQ" so he is able to do more on the court? Maybe. What about Stephen Curry, was he just born with the ability to shoot or did he practice and refined his shot more than anyone whose ever lived in order to be the best shooter? Who knows how many shots Curry has shot? Does more shots = more success? No. My assessment would be that in order to be great you have to be great at both (talent and work). I think MJ is the ultimate mix of that, he was more athletic than Kobe but likely worked just as hard.

As a nobody and an introvert, Kobe for me. I started playing basketball, going outside, making friends and be open to others. The moment I saw the news I was inside the bank that time, I literally cried and I realised I'm not alone. You see, many kids who are adults now here in the Philippines were motivated by the intensity, discipline and work ethics of Kobe.

Keep in mind that this was back in 2012 when LeBron was just 27 with only 1 of his current 4 rings. Kobe on the other hand was 33 with all five of his rings, and was past the prime of his career.

As a fan of Miami. If it’s a championship and everything is on the line. I’m putting my faith in Kobe. His leadership on the court helped get him those 2 rings. Not only that but all he needs is either one superstar or a versatile forward and he can play with role players. I know Lebron can do it if it’s the regular season or a leading series but I need more.
