I’ve watched a few of these CWT videos now and I have to say, yours is the best. Not only are your episodes informative and good natured, your choice of soundtrack is the most beautifully apt. The music captures the magical essence of the landscape and the trail experience. Thank you.
Thanks! Anybody who walks this trail will definitely feel the emotion..cried quite a few times for a 65 year old man..funny how nature just embraces you...
I am inspired! I turned 60 this year and thought my dream of walking the Cape Wrath Trail was a no go being so old 😉 but watching you (and I recently watched a video of a 77 year old on the trail) maybe there is still time. Thank you.
Hi Iain, I've just discovered your channel, looking forward to catching up with your Cape Wrath videos. I have an addiction to watching peoples adventures on this trail. Thank you so much for sharing. All the best, Dave.
Yay...glad to see you are watching the video Lisa from @Tubbatravels You and Niall were in my thoughts the whole way as you will find out! Of course, you'll need to turn on the subtitles as my brain is too fast for my mouth! :-)
Must confess, I must of watched hounds of Howgate ,head for the hills and Jake graham's walk he did with his brother many times. The latter video is pure UA-cam gold! Music narration and editing is so compelling and puts me in mind of having a crack at this walk😊. Already got the Harvey maps so it's probably inevitable that I'll have a crack at it🤔👍🏼😕🙏
BTW. I turned 65 at the end of July as well, born in Dundee but a Glaswegian through and through. I've done the CWT twice now in the last couple of years, and will be returning from Australia for a third go next year. I can't put my finger on it but it is such a great experience that once just wasn't enough.
Very cool! I look forward to seeing more of your videos. Cheers from one half of the couple you passed on the road to Cona Glen 😁 (we had a chat at Glenfinnan the next day)
Hi Iain just been recommended your cape wrath videos to watch as you are 66 I am doing some of it next year but I am a spring chicken of 62 Will watch 2023 trail first then your current one Watch my Tarp camps you have to love a tarp and bivy !!!! Cheers Adrian
@@northumberlandmountainhopper Thanks for watching Adrian! Never too old to hike! I heard there were 2 80 year old walking it this year!. May is definitely the month to aim for..minimum midges and generally great weather. I'll check out your channel!
17:10 In the UK, EU legislation governing insect repellents came into force in September 2006, banning citronella as an active ingredient in all insect repellent products. This applies to both human and other animal repellents. It can be sold as a perfume, but must not be sold as an insect repellent.
Interesting. I guess it applies to sprays for your skin as you can buy the incense cones I used from Amazon in the uk and they are sold as an insect repellant. I did read the wiki article about that though. I found the incense cones to be effective though. Maybe it was the smoke and not the citronella!

Welcome aboard!
Great start, been looking forward to this after watching your short videos 👍
Glad to hear it!
Excellent, I'm going to watch this one after work.
Hope you enjoy it. I'll be releasing videos on Mon Wed Fri each week
Superb. I loved your first installment. Looking forward to number 2.
Thanks Niall. I added subtitles so folks can understand me!
Hi part one watched lucky with the bus
Cheers
For sure..walking on that road to start is tedious. If the Corran ferry is running that's a better option to take. At least you are walking North! Lol
Hi, great video, sad to see our stone has disappeared, I wonder where they go. How fab to get a lift, very nice.

Well done, Ian. This is much more fun to watch than just following your breadcrumbs on Wheely's XCFind.
More to come!

It's well worth it..only problem is that it goes by so fast!

It certainly is a great experience. After A'Chuil it just gets better and better!

Oh yes! You were the dutch couple? If so I mention you a few times in the next 2 videos!
Yup that was us!
