- In August 2023 I walked the Cape Wrath Trail for the first time from Fort William to Cape Wrath. This May I found myself back in Scotland to attend my Uncle's 80th birthday in Inverness. So I thought I'd walk it for the second time in 9 months, this time walking from North to South and taking different routes than the last time.
So join me as I attempt to complete the North South route just before I turn 66..and it sure is a tougher route going South for sure!
Hi Ian, absolutely brilliant. Been waiting for you to start for ages. Beautiful weather to start the trail, but for once they got it right, but perfect timing for the Bothy.
Good luck mate 😀🥾⛰🏕️🏴
@@DAoutdoors Thanks Dave, yep, it only gets better!!!
Good start to your second Cape Wrath adventure, looking forward to further instalments
@@stevetock8065 Thanks Steve, it only gets better!
So you made it to the best MBA Bothy pal, where you picked up the Dutch girl,s on yer last stravaig. A good freinds ashes are scattered at the northern end of the bothy, so a special place.
@@steveworthington930 yeah a fantastic bothy Steve!
Hi Iain. The ferry boat is a speedboat now or was it just laid on for their special guest? I recognised the driver sat by you i think but no bus?
I do not think i would, could have walked to the ozone for dinner, fair play to you. Great first episode ya ba da ba doo.
@@tubbatravels lol .it was a bit of a cockup..the road was not drivable in a section due to major potholes so no regular bus was running. However, a group chartered the bus wanting to go to the lighthouse so he put on a special run. However, the ferryman didn't like him driving on the road making it worse so they got into a discussion and came to an agreement that they would do this one run. However as you saw the big boat wasn't running so he could only take over 2 people at a time. I went first with the bus driver and started walking on the other side. But it turned out the charter group said it would take too long and bailed! Leaving myself and 2 other hikers a long walk to the lighthouse!!!
@@FlyingScot it was great to see the bothy as we didn't go there. Probably one of if not the best bothy ever. I'm looking forward to watching your next episode.
Lot of walking before you start, interesting.
Yeah. Unfortunately the bus wasn't running due to the road conditions being bad with potholes. Fixed now I'm glad to report!
Hi Iain - Do you mean facbook group "Cape Wrath Trail Guide Group"? If not, this one is also great!! :) Edit: Actually, I've just seen a number of your posts lol.
