Only thing I see that different is the Barakoa were replaced with Bird creatures instead. But honestly having them both here and having one be a more passive species than the other would've honestly added some *major* variety upgrades to the mod.
The reason for the change from barakoa to the birds was because the design of the barakoa were a bit to controversial and stereotypical. hope this info helps :)
@@WackyTheWacky oh no I'm fully aware *the reasons* it was changed. I just still think you could've probably reworked them to be less potentially offensive instead of fully removing them like they never existed.
I really love the redesign of the tribe birbs, though I wish there was a little more bird noises to balance out the raptor noises. I also love how they're more designed to look like living masks than creatires that use them like they did before
I still like Mowzie's Mobs but I wish it had new Creatures, they are basically the same and the addition of the Umvuthana was not done by Mowzie's decision, I hope he is encouraged to add new content and Creatures
The addition of the Umvuthana was Mowzie's decision. He's talked about it on his blog and talked about how he worked with South African people to make a better representation of their culture and the reason he changed the Barakoa was because he saw people making racist jokes about them, not because he was pressured by people on twitter.
6:50 The Ice Crystal is an Actual Item, Meaning You can Steal It with Invisibility’s Protection, Granting a New Advancement and Wake Up the Frostmaw immediately(this one won’t drop ice crystal)
I hope someone makes a resource pack to add back the barakoa mask guys that got replaced. I have the last released version of the mod that contained those, so it is possible to obtain the assests for barako's and his gang.
I don't understand the argument for the barakoas being racist. Their designs and inspiration have nothing to do with any depictions of African tribes or their cultures. The barakoas are just goblinoid creatures that are located in a tribal setting, it's not fair to immediately assume that they are meant to be representations of Africans. Just because they may vaguely resemble something that might appear to be a stereotype doesn't mean they themselves are meant to perpetuate or represent said stereotype. By that logic characters like knuckles the echidna from the sonic the hedgehog series should also be classified as racist since his character design has dreads that are reminiscent of a black person, furthermore knuckles is the last of his kind who were a tribe of indigenous echidnas that were located on a remote island that possesed weapons such as spears and dressed up as what you would perceive stereotypical African tribes to look like (facial paint, gold necklaces, tiki/ caveman esque attires, feathered clothing, Pygmy skin tones, ect ect). Should we throw that character, his people, and by extension many other characters across fiction away simply because they will offend a small minority of people online who don't even know anything about the backgrounds of said characters? Any sane person would automatically say no. Obviously everyone is entitled to their own opinions when it comes to this kind of stuff but it's clear as day that when you look at this situation through more objective lenses, the arguments for the barako and barakoas resembling any racial connotations lacks any real critical thought and falls apart once you start to assess them for what they truly are, which is just weirdos online getting offended over nothing.
Your comparision doesn't' work because Knuckles is a character with depth and actual characteristics and the Barakoa are a generic enemy which are meant to be killed by the player. Bob Mowzie talks about his decision to change the Barakoa in his blog, because he saw streamers making jokes about native American and indigenous genocide and decided that he didn't want to enable that. Your opinion whether they are offensive or not matters less because you are not part of the cultures who are targeted by those stereotypes. People approached Bob Mowzie one-on-one and told him that they found this depiction harmful and also contributed to his decision. The Barakoa have many elements that historically were used to make racist caricatures of tribals/native people and it was Bob Mowzie's own choice to remake it into something more authentic and high quality.
@@aravdogra4192 except I AM apart of these cultures. I'm literally African American. And these designs have not been used as caricatures, stop making stuff up. And one more thing: you don't have to be a part of a specific group or culture to recognize when something is or isn't harmful, that's not how it works.

I think you can also use a fishing rof to get the crystal, i might be wrong though
