I really miss apple's 2010 era design language and brand theme. I love how you took screenshots from their old websites and contrasted it to the new ones. The old Mac experience really made my childhood with tech feel like I was living in the future! The new language feels bland, uncompetitive and tailored towards babies with thick fonts, bright flat icons and no skeuomorphism. Great video. You're one of the few content creators who consider the iMac to be beautiful and find ways to enjoy its value. Keep it up!
My 2011 won’t function properly… I busted it out a year ago to let the kids play around on it - and they managed to get a virus on not just the computer but invite a hacker to our network!!! I had to literally get a new router lol to end the problems because it was over my head how the hacker kept getting into the network even with changing the passwords twice lol! Was a mess. They succeeded to get it to do that much. Let’s just say it went back into the garage. I wanted It’s awesome where things have come since then. I’m not too happy with my laptop I just got for $6k it’s not able to run my heavily edited 4K loads in softwares as one would expect - not in premier, Final Cut, or resolve - I’m overloading them with the what I consider simpler than I could do - edits
I have never had an iMac, they do look fantastic but I usually go for a MacMini. My 2012 Mini (quad i7 with dual SSD) was more than enough for my use. It got replaced with a M1 when it died. There is something to be said for being all-in-one though, very clean to have this plopped on a desk somewhere. I love the colors and clean design. Just wish they were a bit cheaper. They get very pricey, very quickly when you add some ram and storage.
Hey hey Martin! I used that 2012 up until the first M chip dropped and it blew it out of the water. Before that, was a G5 tower lol. These imacs now are a great family computer, and can easily get away with handling editing 4k youtube vids, gaming, everything. Pretty crazy it has come this far. Great display also, looks good for sure. Maybe these will join the boring trend of getting the next generation of m chip dropped in every year, and these nice m3s will be cheap next year ;) hope your week is starting well mate!
I’m looking forward to those benchmark tests with the laptop vs this bad boy and seeing how it does - even though it’s salt in my wounds for getting the m2 lol
OMG! So, good. Lots of work! lol. I am right now trying to sell my 2011 21.5 iMac for $80....now $50, guess what? NOBODY WANTS IT! LOL. Will take it to Apple for disposal if the latest sucker doesn't show up, lol.
Thanks Rick! I have a 2011 over here to!, we missed our trade in times many many years ago. Crazy because just the foot of these things could probably press out a few mbp shells these days. Not really sure what to do with mine either lol. Funny it still runs though no problem, maybe i can turn it into a bitcoin miner setup haha. @@TheFloodLightShow JUST SOLD!!! $40 bucks for an iMac 2011 that I bought refurbished for about $1,099, lol. Saved me a trip to Apple Store for recycling, lol. Was gonna do some kinda video on it, but judging from your numbers on this video...nobody cares about old Macs anymore!!!, lol. I still have my first MacBook Pro 2007. I'm saving that for nostalgia, because it doesn't take up to much space. Thought about doing the iFix it upgrade for a video, but what for? Maybe in 20 years it will be interesting, lol.
These new M3 iMacs are outpreforming maxed out iMac Pros and are nearly on par with maxed out 2020 iMacs. However the 2020 iMac is still the most powerful in its maxed out config so I will stick with that until the new iMac Pro comes out in 2025 with M4 Max
lol, you know Apples formula well. Won't be long before the M4s drop and all this years best offerings will be toast again. We are in lucky times, can't go wrong with any of these M chips for editing. Thanks for checking out the vid and the comment Robloxian!

Keep in mind, that is an i9-9980HX, 32GB RAM, 4TB SSD, and a Vega 20 which is on par with the 4050 laptop GPU@@TheFloodLightShow
