I, the American wife, did a 2+ month solo road-trip with my three young boys. My German husband gave me 3 short and sweet driving lessons right before we parted for work commitments and the road trip.
This video is a great example of a day in my life, the hilarious, often confusing, but the real struggle of bilingual couples via bilingual dialogue and more.
AND tractors are featured at the end of this video which is a very appropriate representation of my driving days in Germany, Austria, and France.
Das war für mich als Deutschen kaum verständlich. Warum keine einfachen Eselsbrücken wie A = advance, R = reverse, N = neutral, P = Park?
wow - next time find a babysitter and let the kids at home... i would feel uncomfortable with the kids in the back..

It also look like she doesn't care about here intrior mirror because the kid is blocking the view.
In reply to Wotans Cry: Babysitter, lol...I was traveling in Europe alone with my three boys!! My husband was trying to give me a brief crash course in driving in Germany before he left. However, I went on to drive around Europe for THREE months with my kids in the back. No car accidents or any safety issues. Not many would be able to do that but I'm teaching my kids that there is no such thing as "can't." Don't let fear hold you back!!!
