This has a lot of potential! I think if you improved the models and animations, sticking to the BOTW art style, you could have a game that looks really good. I just played the demo now, whilst it is buggy, its surprisingly fun for a basic prototype. Try using inverse kinematics with the player to get them always aiming the direction of the bow. Maybe you could use procedural generation to create more levels and increase replayability. Ultimately, with a few extra weeks worth of work, you could have a game ready for steam. Keep up the good work!
Hell yeah! Your right it is super buggy! Honestly I want to keep my momentum up and keep learning new things so I probably won't fix the bugs. Your right tho, some IK based animations would be a great next step!
Thanks for sharing your path, your movies are incredibly interesting. As a web developer, I love to see new stuff created. I started from your vid when you switch to Godot and you really made it! You promise and you did it. Grats!
Entertaining and informative video. I hope you keep making more! The music feels a bit loud compared to your voice levels but otherwise nice editing love the raccoon
Thanks! Your right. I edit with headphones on and I think it ruins the levels, I'll try and balance it better in the future tho! Thanks for the feedback
Ayyy so good to see more folks get into making BoTW in Godot! I swear, it feels like BoTW was made in Godot! Anyway, would love to collab if possible. Great work
Just found this channel its great and I noticed that the little avatar on the side is a lot like something I have for my videos but mine is a cat. funny to see how simular it is
I did. I had to cut a lot of my script out about animations because I ended up ranting. I spent days trying to get maximo rigs to work properly through the blender plugin but they always ended up not working.
Yeah I have done a couple game design essays before. Ultimately though, actions speak louder than words so I think it's more important for me to implement my ideas in games than just write about them :)

This random racoon using Godot wins me over. Not a random racoon anymore.
Your series of getting inspired and then dabbling to make something and learn from it is very inspiring.
Entertaining and informative video. I hope you keep making more!

Supa nice! Combat is something I struggle with a lot, good luck on the project!

Yes! I would love that! Your videos helped get me off the ground with working in Godot in 3D!
Your videos are god damn good, very underrated. Got recommended even though I don't use godot lol

This is good. What if you could get the logic from the link to the past put on the engines and just make a link to the past with botw gameplay
Can we get a full tutorial for people who cant code?
Nice video mate
I'm also game developer buddy and new subscriber
For character animations, did you heard about Mixamo? Free animations and easy to export to Godot through a Blender plugin.
I did. I had to cut a lot of my script out about animations because I ended up ranting. I spent days trying to get maximo rigs to work properly through the blender plugin but they always ended up not working.
@@leonstansfield I see. Had no problem when I've tried it out on my side . Great content btw, looking forward for more.
I like the raccoon.
keep it up bro
This is GORGEOUS!!
can you teach us how to make a smooth boomer shooter?
I have no idea what a smooth boomer shooter is sorry.
This is great
How long did this take for you?
Cool! I definitely will go with godot for my first 3D game.
Godot is great, but so is unity and unreal. They are all brilliant free tools!
@@leonstansfield I know, but there's something that appeals to me with Godot. Unreal is the only one which I haven't tried.
Can you share the source code of what you did in the video to take a look?
Did you think about getting i to game analysis

Hey do you have the source code/project zip for this project?
Pls what version of Godot is this?
3.X (whatever version was latest when I published) :)
@@leonstansfield okay, I'm using Godot 3.1 due to my PC specs
