Looks like old APP felt (modified bitumen with plastic). Cheap crap, always goes rock hard and cracks. Get a proper roofer to install SBS felt (modified with rubber) and you won't have a problem for years. Imper Paralon or Soprema Sopratorch. If he mentions Polyglass felt tell him to get back on his horse.

@@froywhernside could be 5 years, could be 10+. Seen a few looking like yours in the video after 4-5 years. Nightmare to strip off.
@@Graeme566 the newer bit was built in 2016 so, I think the crap side is 10+ years. Single skin extension 😩
