💖💞I absolutely love a triple milk soap. It could be any of the mills to choose from but I just love how it is on tour skin! Tour hot process has to be one of the few smoothest and luxurious looking soaps I’ve seen. I love it!💞💖

Oh, and I wanted to ask if you're on the Soapmaking Natural Ingredients Forum? There's so much great info on there for coloring with naturals. And there's an awesome discussion on there today about soapmakers being exposed to Essential Oils all day...I hope you're venting your working/curing area.

Hey Veta, yes I've been a member there since it was started …. there are lots of good information on there... there are some people who are more affected by scents regardless whether they are EO or FO... I have a couple who purchase my soap over the last 3 years...she has big issues with a lot of FO's but uses some soaps of mine that have EO's i.e. peppermint, and citrus, she was in my house the other day around all my soaps for about 45 minutes...we had a discussion about a soap she was interested in , a new one that I've revamped called "Skintastic", and it is what some people will call an "all natural" soap, part of the EO blend is Tea Tree EO, she picked it up and said she probably wouldn't be able to use that, and I asked if it was because of the Tea Tree and she said, yes...I asked her if she had an allergy to it or if it sets off a headache and she said, no , she uses it straight for her scalp, but she does't like the smell...so, there are times when some people will say they have allergies and some just don't like it, for me it's important to differentiate between those two in order to help my clients and educate my clients as well...there is so much to learn and there are an incredible amount of variables, all the way around :-)

@@shalebrookhandcraftedsoap7907 I've got a mind bender to share that will expand your knowledge. I'm a person with allergies. Due to that, I've started making my own skin and cleaning products to avoid allergic ingredients and FO's(which are just a needle in a haystack of ingredients that could end me in hospital). So I started using essential oils. My husband doesn't have allergies like mine and as soon as he'd enter the house after I'd made something with EO's, he'd get a massive headache BUT he can use stuff with FO's with no problem. I turned to my very trusted naturopath for an explanation. She says that he's likely burnt the receptors for the FO's (they are synthetic , and he's been using chemicals on the farm for years), but the EO's, since they are natural, have a different path to our scent receptors...and since he very muted awareness of FO scents, the EO's likely overburden his scent receptors. Our farm is being changed by the new generation, we're swtiching to regenerative farming instead of "spray it and forget it" ways but the damage has aready been done to his receptors so we have to deal delicately with each other's needs regarding scents.

Hey there again! I'm on well water too(farm in Alberta). We have natural soft water...and someone told me to just boil it, let it cool then use it like distilled water in my lye water. Not sure what a softener does but thought this might stimulate a thought for you. The advisor was saying boiling it would kill the growables in the well water.

Thank you Valerie another lovely and informative video! I've been trying milks in my HP soaps and I like how you add some for the cook and some after. I'm going to be trying the pistachio milk too and probably the kale and thyme as well; your colors turned out nice. Question...How long do you let your HP more fluid soaps sit before using them? I know they don't "need" to rest like the cold process does because the saponification is already complete. I was wondering because it seems like when I make a more fluid batch, the soaps get used up faster than when I make regular HP. I've been letting them sit a while to help evaporate some of the moisture, which makes them harder and that seems to help.

Hey Sharon and thank you very humbly... I usually let all my HP soaps set 2 weeks and I've had a few that set between 3-4 weeks...for me, it will totally depend on the formula i'm using and the additives afterwards , the amount of sodium lactate too...if there is Stearic acid in the soap and the hardness # is 38 - 43 and INS is 138 - 143 (and up of course) and i'm using 5% SL, they will usually be ready in 2 weeks.. I prefer to use some of my milks in the cook and some afterwards, but in my shaving soaps, from what I remember I use all the milk for after the cook...letting HP set for 4 weeks is not bad either as it will only get better, but i.e. usually 2 weeks will be good for me...taking care of the soap once being used will help as well, i.e. letting it set on a ridged soap deck so it can dry between uses...I've never been too concerned about having a rock hard bar, as I don't want to give up any conditioning and I like my soaps low cleansing/OR low stripping drying...if a bar will last 4-6-8 weeks, I think that is fantastic, as long as it helps my skin...a lot can depend on if you shower, bathe, how hard or soft your water is, if you use that soap at the sink as well, if you keep it dry and so on...but considering people will buy coffee / latte / tea etc for 2 - 3 dollars, and that only lasts for as long as you are drinking it....well, I try to look at that aspect.... I've tried homemade soap my whole life and "always" ended up throwing it away as it would make my skin even drier or make it itch, and then over 5 years ago a woman from Georgia gave me a soap and WOW, it was different and that is what started me on my soap making adventure, and now I know why....so, when I started to make soap for me and my family the most important thing was to make it "low" drying and "high" conditioning and even though hardness is part of that, "how" hard does it really need to be...so, I've found that my customers appreciate the conditioning and I've never had complaints about that …. I know others prefer different things, but personally that is what I look for. Thank you Sharon I do appreciate the questions and comments :-)

Can we add fresh fruits n vegetables puree on the end of cook after water discounting. Please reply. Thanks

Hello Sangeetha S A, you are so very welcome and thank you so kindly. Thank you for your question -- I see that some soapers do add pureed fruits and vegetables after the cook, and I sure have used lots of pureed fruits and vegetables, "but" I "personally" have never added them after the cook that I can remember....I don't think , for myself, I would be comfortable with that...but for sure, give it a try if you like...if you do, I would not be overloading it after the cook, for example try 1 oz and see how you think it works. I'm sorry that I don't have a better or more informed answer on that...for me, even using milks and yogurt after the cook, I try to do it within reason.
