Shalebrook Handcrafted Soap - WOWZA Cold Process Heat Transfer by Valerie Mosher
Cold Process Heat Transfer with Transparent Soap Gratings
“WOWZA!” Cold Process Soap October 2, 2020
This was soaped at 35% lye liquid, but for sure I will do this at 30-33% next time. This was for a 2lb batch of soap.
Silk and 2 Tbsp. sugar in with the water. Sugar dissolved before adding lye.
Coconut milk deducted from water amount and put in a cup along with 2 Tbsp yogurt and 3% Sodium Lactate, 1Tbsp Maple Syrup, mix all together well and set aside.
Super Fat (although with CP the lye will choose whatever it wishes for super fat ) was 3% Apricot Kernel and I also added my EO’s to this which was, Lavender, Sweet Orange, Grapefruit and Lemongrass.
I added my lye to my oils as soon as the lye was all dissolved.
I chopped up my hard oils first and added the lye to those and melted them all before adding the soft oils (and 1 tsp Kaolin Clay). Then I added the milk mixture, and then the EO’s mixture. Stick blend to light trace, divided the batter and added my gratings of Pear’s Transparent soap and designed accordingly.
Oils/Fats:
15% Castor Oil
11% Coconut Oil 76 degree
23% Olive Oil
29% Palm Oil
22% Beef Tallow
This formula is low drying and high conditioning.
Enjoy!

I have not seen many people do decorated hot processed soap. This is awesome
I am sorry about your niece. this is the first video I've watched that had colouring and swirling a hot process soap. thank you for sharing.
Love watching your wonderful videos! I wonder, how long do you need to cure your liquid HP soaps?
A beautiful soap ❤
Hi Valerie, Thank you for posting this. I was wondering, why do you add your sugar water later in the process? The reason I ask is because why I soap HTHP as I always do, I add it 15 minutes in after it may have volcanoes and has started to marshmallow. I also add honey which pretty much guarantees a few volcanoes.
Hola Rosario!!
Hey i live in ns also, curious, where do you get your soap supplies? I order mine online
Always mesmerized by your videos. Very relaxing video and full of wonderful information 😊
Love your site beautiful soap...would it be to much to ask where you found your mold
thank you ever so much and my apologies for being so late replying -- I purchased these molds at "on line from Crafters Choice?" , but that was about 10 years ago? so, you could just do a search for silicone oval cavity molds and I believe they'll come up.
Jow does the soap stay smooth and fluid? Mine starts to solidify as soon as the heat is off.
Merci Valérie pour cette magnifique vidéo. Juste dommage de ne pas avoir de traduction en français 😢
I’m confused how the yogurt won’t spoil since it’s not part of the saponification process?
Since the yogurt wasn’t part of the saponification process won’t it spoil quickly in the soap? It’s just been suspended into the other molecules, not chemically changed
Hi lovely soap! I’m wondering what’s in the spray butter.
Thank you for such an amazing hot process tutorial. You are my favorite of all time. I also love how you come from Nova Scotia. I am from an island in Hawaii. You inspire me to think out of the box and celebrate with what you do have around you. It is more pricey here as everything is imported. Asia is not far from us where items could be less expensive, however there regulations on there products are not always the same. But with that being said , I think I still will try to create a small soap business. Friends and family have been telling me that it is time for me to try this. Mahalo Nui Loa, sincerely your soaping friends
I wonder if keeping the jugs on a heated mat, such as a seed mat, while waiting for soap to gel, and while pouring, would help?
use soap calculator available on the internet for accurate recipe and measurements. use a crock pot if you have one. crack a window for fresh air and run an oscillating fan. work safely.
So pretty! I don't understand the benefit of hot process soap if you still need to wait 6 weeks to cure?
if you cook the soap properly then you really can use the soap right away.
1) You can choose the superfat. 2) The essential oils will be stronger in the end because it did not go trough saponification like in the Cold Process so you have to put less amount (I think this is The best reason) 3) if u DONT use too much water or aditives to make it fluid, and test the pH to make sure the saponification is complete in the end, after one or two weeks will be cured and ready to be used
Do you use distilled water.
that soap turned out beautiful and that lather was the best ive ever seen been wanting to try hot process for a few yrs but now im going to and will give this recipe a try ty
I love this low temperature hot process. The marathon one goes through in normal hot process is discouraging. I can get a good design with this method without going through the hoopla.
Beautiful soap as usual Valerie. Blessings to you 🥰
Oh wow! Looks beautiful!
What is the maple syrup and yogurt for?
Beautiful soap
Beautiful!
Please could you say what the purpose/ function is of each of your additives. Your recipes are so much softer/ more fluid than any others that I have seen on UA-cam. I have not tried hot process yet.
Can you take a cold process soap recipe and hot process it or are the formulas fundamentally different?
Wow this video was made 6 years ago, and all of the information is so useful! I just found your channel, already subs, and I will watch your other videos. Thanks so much for sharing your detailed knowledge in HP process.. I also learned a lot by reading all the comments below.. Stay healthy 💙
What temp do you pour at?
You have completely changed my awareness of HP. I think I’m a convert! I never knew you could be so creative with it, I always thought it was a ‘ plonk it in quick before it sets’ method😂. Thank you, Cath.
Wondering why elderberry juice in that soap
My son has the same name as yours ,how canny 🥰
What is soap confetti Valerie ?hope you are well and like the idea of that chocolate soap .I have tried adding cocoa but mine wasn’t appealing at the time.
I don't know how I missed this video, as I watch them all. Beautiful soap.
I use tallow as well in my soap. I love how it soaps
I was making CP for three years now. I started doing hot process about a month ago. Yesterday I tried my hand at fluid hot process in a container instead of a crockpot and I love it. Ill def be making HP soap from now on.
hi tyvm this video. i miss read the lye and thought the lye was the amount because it said lye water. boy was that differnt. my first time hot process. hopefully it will be ok because it got away from me and my puppy having a fit in the bedroom and i think i didnt stir it enough as i thought with the yogurt i think didnt mix well so ... i will try again another time. but i will perfect it. and you should see what i have. you would be happy with the look you did hahahaha
Do you share your recipes? I would love to make this ❤
tyvm great class. i enjoyed it.
I hope I can still ask a question. Have you ever made soap with Moroccan Argan butter? If so do I just melt it with my oils Also in the soa calc can I just choose argon oil? Thank you so much I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and your new year will be filled with joy
you should never talk down a creations. what if it is what Jesus wanted you to make for someone. i think it is excellent creation..
So true, Thank you!
tyvm where did you get your crock pot. i like the snaps on top. great job. tyvm the light areas looks like angel wings beautiful..
Awesome soap
Do you make videos anymore?
Wow! Gorgeious soap! I am thrilled I found your channel. I love the way this hot process turned out and the way you added the ingredients and have a very good flowing hot process result. Thank you for your ideas.
What is the purpose of adding apple cider vinegar? I haven't seen that in a soap recipe before. Thank you.
Absolutely beautiful!
Wow! Such fluid batter and amazing lather! I can’t wait to try this. Thank you for sharing ❤
Great job, the soap is beautiful, and very inspiring. I have been trying to learn how to keep my hot process soap fluid for swirls, and i will definitely try your tips!!! ❤
Thanks so much for this video! I was looking for videos on making milks for soaps, without much hope, and I found your video. How cool! Hint on the banana milk, if you don't want it to go brown, add a couple of drops of lemon or lime juice, just like apples or avocados, it will prevent the fruit from oxidizing! I've been making rice "milk" from kokuho rice starch, from just rinsing it, but it hadn't occurred to me that I could make actual milk from grinding and/or cooking it. I have some work in the kitchen awaiting me! Thanks!
