I wanted to thank you very much for the excellent tutorial. I have watched it a few times already, and now have turned my food blog from an alright looking blog, to a truly beautiful one. I can't thank you enough.
This is an incredibly helpful video! There is zero percent chance I could have ever come even close to doing this on my own or just using the Wordpress tutorials (which were not helpful to me). I literally know nothing about building a blog on Wordpress and was able to follow along and although there is still so much that I don’t know, this is the only video that I have found to be helpful. Thank you!
Great detailed tutorial. As a newbie creating a food website/blog this is invaluable. Thanks so much Tim for contributing your time in putting this together.
yes! its a lot going on with this I'm super new like a Blank page so the loading is really continued until the end of the video. I really wanna learn more before I venture into this business. I thought its just a click or 2 but its a loooot! Good Job! Thanks for the help ♥
Yeah! It is a lot. I'm currently working on a new version of this video, but it's still a lot to go thru. I'm working on making my own modifications to help speed it up! 🤞
More content like this. I appreciated that you chose a free theme in Wordpress with their built in customizer. I am so new and there are so many website builders to choose from but I wanted to learn it in Wordpress before venturing out to buying a theme or even using Elemental. This helped me with gaining core new skills when picking a theme. Before this, I messed up so bad (installed too many things and used too many other sites that was overlapping in code and other things) that I had to reset my whole page and then started over with this video. At least all of my mistakes led me here and I feel much more confident.
Do you know how I can find a WordPress developer to set up my entire blog so I can just start posting ? I did watch your entire video and I love it, Im just not that great with setting things up. I am in the NY area, Long Island, and I would prefer to meet with someone to go over details and see the set up in person. Thanks Arlene
Hi Tim, thank you for the great and very informative video. I ended up getting the Foodika Pro version(from your link). One thing I find puzzeling is the probably easiest thing: the mail newsletter/subscription setup. I am quit enew to the topic and the videos I found were just not what I was looking for. Do you have one to direct me to? Thank you
I would suggest looking into using Mailchimp and find a tutorial on how to add a mailchimp signup form to your webstite. That is probably the best and easiest way to get started.
Hi! Do you know how to edit the demo content of a theme if we bought/downloaded a different theme? The one I'm using doesn't have the WPZoom plugin and I'm lost on how to move forward.
@@Realwebsitehints Hi! I actually ended up buying the one in your link, it cost more, but is way more user-friendly and that way I can follow along with the video better. The one I originally installed was very cheap. Thank you so much for your help!
If you purchased the theme it should be in the downloads folder on your computer. If you are on windows if you go to the file explorer there should be a link on the left hand side. The file you are looking for should be called "foodica-pro.zip"
Hello. I've been following along to this video. When I get to the 'Export/Import' area....I don't have the option to delete the demo. 😞 Is there another way? Thank you for this video. It was helpful up until this point.
On the WPZOOM page on your dashboard under demo content you will see a little trash can. If you click on that it will delete your demo content. I made you a short video to show you how to do it. ua-cam.com/video/hgTqT-JsBNs/v-deo.html
HI I have now watched you entire youtube video - thanks for the tips so far. Can you please shed some more information on setting up a recipe directory or recipe index . This is a really important part of a food recipe website. I bought Foodica but you can please elaborate more on whether this can be done within the theme or an extra plugin is needed like easy index plugin or Can you please explain or point me to a video tutorial for this. Thank you.
I don't have a video on this yet, however here are the instructions to set up a recipe index page. www.wpzoom.com/documentation/foodica/foodica-recipe-index-page/
Sorry for the late reply. Yes you can use google domains you just need to point it to the host. I’ll be monitoring this more closely if you have questions.
Hello, Thank you for sharing this tutorial. I've watched it in it's entirety but I am still unclear on how to actually "complete" my blog to go live. Everything is kind of skimmed over and not really useful if you've never created a blog and are unfamiliar with wordpress. I wish you'd have completed all of the steps, and shown the finished blog. I'm pretty bummed at having purchased this theme that I'm not clear on how to use.
Hey sorry you had problems how far did you get? I tried to cover everything step by step leading up to exactly how to get your first post published and live on your website. What hosting company are you using?
HI I am enjoying your tutorial. thank you so much. Foodica is exactly the food theme i wanted. do I need akismet? The cheapest option is $12 a year. It's popped up. Should this sort of thing of thing be included in the hosting plan.? I have purchase dreamhost on your advice. would appreciate your thoughts. Thanks.
If you look under the pricing menu option on the Akismet website you will see that there is a free option for personal blogs. A good way to get started. I use the Dreampress plan with Dreamhost and that includes JetPack, which also includes Akismet and a lot of other benefits to help you get your blog off the ground. Let me know if that helps.
There are several WordPress plugins that will allow you to create submission forms. Everything from just a basic form to a detailed form with several different fields. You might check out the WPforms plugin, but there are also several others.
Thank you for this tutorial!! It gave the courage to start my own blog, your video was incredibly helpful!! I have decided to start with the free version of Foodica, do you know by any chance if I can use the cool slider carousel you use (1.13.40) and customise the blog posts in the homepage so not to show author and date in the free version too? Thanks so much again for your video!
Thank you so much for your tutorial. It’s very clear and detail. I’m still confuse one thing that If We customise the theme like you show us then later if we update the theme then WILL all the change be lose or not please ?
Studio press is to complex. Their themes are really fit professional developers ready to add and modify the code of their websites. I focus on helping the average person build their website.
Hi, This video is very helpful and i done this step. Please help to me how we can access domain mail in owa. Ex : tech.online its my domain and i have help@tech.online email. Now how can access mail.tech.online in my browser
Don't do this tutorial. I purchased the Foodica theme thinking it would simplify building my website. Rather I found it riddled with errors, confusing/bad UI for WP admin, limited capabilities, and WPZoom has TERRIBLE custom service. After many days of headache I just abandoned it all together.
I wanted to thank you very much for the excellent tutorial. I have watched it a few times already, and now have turned my food blog from an alright looking blog, to a truly beautiful one. I can't thank you enough.

Looking forward to it!

No problem
I'm lovin' the content so far and have gotten to the WPZoom Section, but there is no option to load the demo content?
Did you get this resolved?
Hello, I don't have WP zoom on my computer. 😊 Any suggestions?

If you started just through Wordpress do you still need a hosting site?
Do you mean you signed up for wordpress.com? If so, thenwordpress.com includes hosting. Otherwise you need to host your website someplace.
Amazing tutorial so far! Watching the rest now. By the way, is Foodica compatible with the Tasty Recipes plugin?
I haven't tested it, but it should be. I've just been using the WPZOOM plugins for the recipe cards

Great tutorial as I live in Uk - we tend to have Bluehost as domain . Is this similar to dream host ?
Yes, Bluehost is a good option also, I just prefer Dreamhost.
What would be the difference if my i bought my domain with Google Domain? thank you and sorry for the dumb question, im just very new to this!

Can you explain how to put the categories on the top of the page after you delete demo content ?
Thanks for this Video, so informative!!

I was using Kale but I don't get a lot of free things with it I am also having a hard time just adding content to my homepage.
The home page can be tricky to edit without a good tutorial.
Thank you so much for such a thorough tutorial! I'm creating my food blog now and its looking so good. Thank you! Check it out when you have time!
Awesome!! I'm just building my website atm lol all the best with your foodblog :)

Can I link this wp blog to my wix website
Six is a separate platform you could put links from your six website to the WP blog you create, but they would be separate.
