I loved all the performances in emilia perez, i'm surprised people didn't like selena's performance, she's electric and that final scene? so heartbreaking, she made us feel empathy for a character with many flaws, ultimately rooted in grief and loss, not only of her husband, but herself but twitter is full of miserable people, so i'm not surprised
I’ll be sad if Selena Gomez doesn’t get nominated. Considering Meryl was doing a screening this past week and throwing praise… there’s still a chance! It’s definitely deserved. She pulled at my heart in the end.
I think Selena Gomez is in the fringe, but ultimately at this moment I think she will get in. I think she will campaign for it and is actively doing so (as is Winslet for Lee which is a discussion I’ll have for another time).
im still not 100% convinced about ariana. I can see her getting a golden globe or another award, but if she gets a nom i think it will be treated the way america ferrera was. she also has that whole cheating scandal too
The Barbie comp is a good one and I wish I had thought of it, but you have the wrong actor. Ferrera is not particularly integral to that movie minus the one big speech she gives. In Wicked Grande is the scene stealer able to deliver comedy with ease and sing. She’s this year’s Ryan Gosling for Barbie. The factor that I believe gets her over the top is the film’s emotional beats plus the academy is friendly to actresses in a musical (Hathaway and DeBose) I also think you are putting to much thought into the cheating scandal. I am a fan of ariana too, but we have to admit, america got the #1s in the ballots from latino academy voters since she was the only latina contender. Ariana does not have that
I wish u wouldn't do this teir list. I wish u would just make a list and divide the screen. Zoe saldana is being criticised for being in the supporting actress category even tho she has more screen time
If I understand you correctly, I believe that is a format that I’ve done for a few years before switching to tiers. There’s a few reasons I switched to tiers: 1st) adds an element of randomness. Going from 23-1 people don’t necessarily care all that much about 23-10, but I still like documenting who is campaigning/was hoping. 2nd, I found it much easier to do this format, as the other one requires way more prep and me talking directly into a camera which can become really stale really quickly. And 3rd) in terms of editing this one is significantly easier allowing me to make more of these videos as I don’t have to spend a full day+ editing, I’ll continue to take any feedback into consideration though and see how I can best adjust the format. In terms of Zoe Saldana I get the annoyance. Ultimately they are deeming her supporting and I don’t think that will affect her one way or the other. I personally understand why they call her a best supporting actress and not the lead :)

I've heard nothing but great things in the reviews I have read about Felicity Jones for The Brutalist. Not once have I read she was underwritten.
