As he said, Brazil is really excited with this possible nomination, mainly because Torres is the daughter of Fernanda Montenegro, who was nominated as Best Actress in the 1999 Oscars. Unfortunately, Montenegro lost for Gwyneth Paltrow for Shakespeare in Love. Brazilians are really bitter about this loss, so we are expecting kinda of a redemption with Torre nomination. It is accurate to omit Willa Fitzgerald from predictions because she will not be nominated (except perhaps independent spirit) but there is no better performance so far in 2024. Every person who sees Strange Darling is left breathless by her performance but knows that it is just not the kind of movie that wins awards so you're probably not supposed to value this performance even though you will be thinking about it after forgetting some if these contenders ever existed.

Mikey Madison and Angelina Jolie sure seem like the ones to beat this year (at least so far). I actually thought Lee was fantastic and I wish it was getting more Oscar buzz than it is. At least for tech awards, if not performance.

Selena Gomez has a lot of followers and she also has a lot of haters, mostly by her ex and his wife’s fans, they would go as far as leaving bad reviews, even if they didn’t bother to watch the movie.

I really enjoyed this movie! I found the way they shot Mexico to be very beautiful when compared to Breaking Bad’s pee filter.. n I feel the director and his team were able to inject a very good level of melodrama into the the film that seemed right in tune with Mexican tastes.. not at all bad for a Frenchman

"Wicked," is the typical musical movie. "West Side Story." A typical musical movie. Cats? Another typical musical movie. Memorable for all the wrong reasons... A musical about a cartel leader transitioning to womanhood, both to escape justice and the idea of what a typical macho cartel leader stereotype should be is *not* your typical musical movie. This is what makes Emilia Pérez so atypical--and by extension, audacious--to the minds of the typical Westerner/American moviegoers, myself included.

As if movies play true to the facts, especially Hollywood movies. I was of dating age back then. The emerging serial killer trend against women was chilling to live through. Women are not safe. You learn the tricks to stay alert to your surroundings. Youthful naivete and gullibility in women can be dangerous. Still, today, if I have to walk at night, I walk far from bushes, even in the middle of the road. Women read 'The Gift of Fear' by Gavin de Becker.

I guess the film will get some Oscar nominations. Although, It is a well made film , I don't think it will be memorable. Berger's direction is almost too clean and safe, also Fiennes is too subtle.

About 20 minutes in to this movie even my wife was put off by how every single male character was being portrayed. She's not even the type to analyze movies, it was just painfully obvious. This is a very poorly written movie. Some of the acting was ok.
