Best chat moment I legit died 😂 33:00 - Swampert dies Chat: “dw set up with shuckle and possible sweep” 33:03 - Trainer sends out Groudon Chat: “Alright boys it was a good run”
What I really like about your content is that you upload the failed attempts, that way we can't know what's going to happen and i love that. I would love to see more emerald rogue content ❤
That Flygon was borderline poetic, if you ever get the chance to use one in a challenge run again you have to name it Icarus, never forget the time you flew too close to the sun 👍🏻
That final mon reveal was amazing in this roller coaster of a video. I love the editing choices you made (especially the music comically winding down with mon reveals) and the ROM you chose. I'd love to see another video like this. I imagine you went outside your comfort zone a bit due to the lack of calcs in a run like this, but I hope you don't look at this as a failure despite what you said at the end. Roguelikes are all about the journey, not the ending. As far as content goes, this video was flawless and is one of my favorites. As a player you obviously want to win, but as a viewer I think we all appreciate your style and humor within a well made video and don't put too much thought into the outcome of a run. Additionally, I really like hearing your reflection on a lost run which is something we don't get as in depth with other runs. Your excellent Nuzlocking skill is only one of the many reasons this channel is so popular (and my favorite Nuzlocke content) IMO so I hope you don't get too down on yourself. Thanks for the great video! :)
Wiping to a flygon.... the poetry, the pain. Still, this was so cool, going into it blind and you got so far! Even with the randomness, you've definitely learned a ton from this one that you can take into the next! I hope to see more of these.
20:43 the gameplay here was truly exhilarating, a testament of representation by a finely crafted Hardcore Nuzlockesman such as yourself. The emotion, the drama, the action! If this keeps up, you'll be reaching 100 million in no time flat!!!
I love the idea of playing this game every now and then! It has a lot of opportunity to make really unique runs, so it’s a nice change of pace-both for us as viewers and you as the content creator. Just keep doing your FlygonHG thing, and we’ll be here to enjoy it!
the ending got me man i definitely wasnt expecting it i mean losing to your channel's face is so damn ironic you definitely did really great man for your 1st try y know this game can get pretty difficult considering the fact that you can sometimes run into teams such as choice band close combat speed boost blaziken at the situation where you have no ghost types
I love how the bg music just slowly shambles and slow mos into a halt as Groudon makes its abrupt entrance at 33:01, really reminds me of our band rehearses when instructor just yells at us mid playing
I'd love to see a second run! With those upgrades you get after your first run are awesome! The safari zone and going in with items already in your bag, seeing how you decide to begin your run to give yourself the best chance of success, or to handicap yourself, will be super interesting!
This rom hack is essentially the gift that keeps on giving, it has different maps each time and I don't know if mono type nuzlockes would even be possible in this game with how random it is but it seems like a blast. You'll get em next time Flygon. And just in my opinion, technically the revival labs does violate the "a pokemon dies its gone forever" aspect of nuzlockes to make the game harder, but this game is already cracked and you are at risk of a curse if you revive a pokemon, thus still making the game hard even with the revival. Anyone who watched Bloody's recent video on this game -SPOILER FOR THAT VID HERE- saw that she got to revive Aang her shiny Umbreon to hard carry her through the rest of the game, but she suffered a curse that granted every move her opponent made a 10% to activate a quick claw effect. So she ultimately lost the run to a Hydreigon that got multiple quick claw activations in a crucial battle. I like the idea that you have to struggle with the idea that bringing back a really good mon you lost may actually doom your run down the line.
This game does have mono-type challenges as part of the quest system; one for all 18 types. They are absolutely, positively BRUTAL and almost necessitate item usage in battle. I’ve only managed 3 of the 18 quests myself, and not for lack of trying. I have 130+ hours in this game. I would be impressed if he could Hardcore Nuzlocke a monotype challenge in Emerald Rogue, because as far as I’m concerned, it’s impossible under hardcore rules.
34:13 I’ve never heard a more pained exclamation of grief, I am in tears, utterly devastated, generations later will still be able feel flygon’s cry of defeat and anguish 🫡
I’d never heard of this before but I’d love to watch you do many more playthroughs. Also your reaction to losing to Groudon really showed you’ve got the passion, another great video FlygonHG!
I'm broke and don't have many possessions currently when I found out about this rouge like I was so optimistic my favorite nuzlocker would play it so thanks keep doing what you're doing
More of this would definitely be cool! I enjoy how the randomness and partial unpredictability provides a different kind of challenge compared to nuzlocking the games we now know like the back of our hand.
While I don't like seeing you fail, especially so close to the finish, I'm glad you show these videos to us. It makes it more rewarding when you do succeed. Love your content man, keep it up!
I’ve been playing this game for a couple months and loved every second. The Discord community is so helpful. If you like a challenge this hack is for you!!
I love Emerald Rogue and would absolutely adore seeing all your future attempts on whatever channel you deem best for them, though I personally enjoy your edited playthroughs here the most
Was watching the VODs on the VOD channel when this was posted. I appreciate how you're one of the few nuzlockers who actually show your failed attempts because I think too many skim over them.
I would love to see more Emerald Rogue challenges. Imo it's one of the best Pokemon romhacks made, and certainly my favorite since Radical Red. The fact the random elements add so much replayability is great, and the way it's designed cuts down on a bunch of the tedium you might encounter in a more traditional style of romhack.
I really enjoyed this one Dr Flygon! It’s really cool to see how people have made “playthroughs” more challenging. Seeing you learn and “fail” is really humanizing and the way you handle it and try to learn from it is awesome
The groudon following the swampert was gold. Not to mention hitting both precipice blades and stone edge, basically impossible odds. Then the flygon was chef's kiss perfection.
I tabbed off this vid about 10 minutes in to download this hack for myself. it looked WAY more fun than I expected! i ended up playing it all day yesterday and still thinking about it after I went to bed. thanks for highlighting such a solid game :D
I loved this one so much. You have become so good that only a randomizer provides you any challenge and this one is so perfect. Please do this multiple times.
well I know you’d rather win all the time but I think you’re most entertaining and educational for us would-be nuzlockers when the *yoshi noises* hits the fan and you have to think on your feet. I’ll happily watch a gazillion more hours of emerald rogue.
Please keep doing emerald rouge videos loved it. Don’t even care that it’s 40 mins long watched all of it action pack and you did a awesome job explaining the game and showing more of what happens this most videos I’ve seen on it
Funny, I always thought of a nuzlock like a seeded roguelike way to play pokemon since you're usually getting different encounters each run, but this is really cool!
I would love to see more challenges like this. The randomness made it extremely engaging because I never had a clue of how the game would transpire. The fact that you couldn't actually plan ahead like you would in a normal nuzlocke seemed to have made it a lot harder, but it was that unpredictability that also made it loads of fun! Thanks!
This romhack looks pretty fun, and not overly complicated unlike many of them, I'd love to see you do more runs of it in the future. In the meantime, I'll check it out too. No more Wiggly slander though! SHE WAS THERE TO GIVE TEAMMATES WARM HUGS AFTER THE BATTLES! 😭
This game is actually nuts. I almost lost a Sinnoh Rainbow run to Drake, who straight up had the trio box legendaries, Dialga, Palkia, and Giratina. The game is hella unfair sometimes, but that’s what makes it so goddam fun. It’s all part of the game.
I'd love to see a second attempt! This was fun to watch! Maybe next time you'll be able to use a Flygon to defeat the Strong Trainer instead of wiping to one.
Honestly, I'd be down to see any more content of Emerald Rogue you happen to do. Whether it's a win or a fail, it's just so different from the usual that I'd love to see lots of it.
You got pretty far though! It's great seeing you able to enjoy new kinds of Pokemon games with this Roguelike. I'm curious about seeing you finish a run, but that just means I want the whole journey to get there - ie. watch every run that doesn't make it all the way, too. I'm glad to see you release 'unsuccessful' runs.
This hack is so much fun, would love to see more than one run of this even after you beat it- so many possibilities! Also showcases your skill so well given that you have no real chance to properly prepare like you can usually when you know the other trainers’ teams. Super excited to see more of this, you did fantastic for your first run!
I really enjoyed this I think you should definitely do more videos of this game. Seeing you think on your feet without being able to rely on calcs is super fun.
Came because I was curious to see who was playing Pokemon Emerald Rouge, and I thought this was a very well made video. Would love to see you play more, as it's a delight to as someone who's just finishing up 100% completing all quests.
Let me say, that I DID play this game (not as a hardcore nuzlocke, though), and while you ultimately lost, the whole video was super great and I would like to encourage you to play this more, because I've enjoyed the video SO MUCH!
I love the synergy this team provides with all the immunities and resistances. At first glance the team is not too impressed but they all complement each other well in a nuzlocke let alone a Pokémon emerald rogue. Edit: before 28:21
Loved this video!! As someone who has yet to complete a hardcore nuzlocke of Emerald Rogue myself, it was really inspiring seeing just how far you had made it in your first attempt! Hope you keep makin these :)
I definitely want to see a second run! Awesome video dude, hope you had as much fun making it as I did watching!
I second this.
Third. Agreed
Yes! This was very fun to watch
💯 agree
So someone thought "I love the Battle Pike. BUT WHAT IF THE WHOLE GAME WAS THE BATTLE PIKE" and thus Rogue was born. I can dig it.
That's called sadomasochism
“What if the whole game was the Battle Pike on PCP”
Final boss should have been Lucy!
...And then she tells you can get the gold symbol if you do this again 21 times!
Best chat moment I legit died 😂
33:00 - Swampert dies
Chat: “dw set up with shuckle and possible sweep”
33:03 - Trainer sends out Groudon

Groudon comes out
"Thats not good for shuckle" 🤣

33:03 was imo by far one of the funniest moments in FlygonHG history 😂
And the person in the chat that says "pray this mon is good for shuckle?" "that is not good for shuckle"
@@Notabot-2112 didn't see that one. Great! 😂
The Flygon at the end was just icing on the top
One word chat
Don't beat yourself up! I'd love to see more of this challenging game.
Should I play Emerald Rouge
@@EarthRo no
I'd 100% watch more of these
It’s not about how you fail. It’s about how you get back up again. Which is why we NEED to see more videos on this game
Really glad to see that you’re playing this, I’ve been having a lot of fun with this so seeing you play this just made my Saturday!
It was crazy to enter this stream from the pchal raid just to see Flygon losing it as Absol went down.
20:43 the gameplay here was truly exhilarating, a testament of representation by a finely crafted Hardcore Nuzlockesman such as yourself. The emotion, the drama, the action! If this keeps up, you'll be reaching 100 million in no time flat!!!

It’s really easy to set up on pc. You can even do it on mobile.
It’s wild how all of that snowballed from not using rain dance with Roxanne. I’d love to see another run of this!
the ending got me man
i definitely wasnt expecting it
i mean losing to your channel's face is so damn ironic
you definitely did really great man
for your 1st try
y know this game can get pretty difficult considering the fact that you can sometimes run into teams such as
choice band close combat speed boost blaziken at the situation where you have no ghost types
I love how the bg music just slowly shambles and slow mos into a halt as Groudon makes its abrupt entrance at 33:01, really reminds me of our band rehearses when instructor just yells at us mid playing

This was super fun to watch. I'd love to see you tackle this romhack again!
A super motivating ending too. Keep on keeping on, Dr. HG.
Love the "rogue" elements name theme! I had an Absol named Mercury in Pokémon X who was my first-ever set up sweeper.
Ive been addicted to Emerald Rogue for a while now, and its awesome to see the Doc approach to this game
Seeing T-tar kill Lapras gives me such mixed emotions. Two of my faves
Now imagine how Matti felt wiping to a Flygon
I can already tell this is gonna be incredible. Thanks for the consistently amazing content!
I would love to see another run of Emerald Rogue :)

This is exactly why I love seeing Flygon play mote romhacks. Loved that!

Would love more videos from this romhack ! It's such a fun watch, and it has loads more variation than when you limit your team in normal games.
Hell yeah, I just watched the VODs. This romhack's fantastic.
I’d love to see more Emerald Rogue challenges! It’s cool to break free from the samey-ness of the main pokemon game challenges sometimes

This was a super cool video. I would love to see more Rogue on the channel, Flygon! Thanks for all the fun content!
Definitely need more runs, I get what you say about showing defeats, but I always enjoy watching you overcome that and eventually winning!

37:20 Very good song chosen for the end of the locke...a mixture of sadness and happiness.
I love how much screen time Lapras had in this run. Great vid!
I honestly couldnt have pictured a more perfect way to lose a run. It was even flygon so it could only be you.
Super fun watch, definitely looking forward to a potential part 2!
Oh we 100% need more Emerald Roughe nuzlockes
Very good content matti, great watch during Ramadhan. Watched ur vids from when u were still so early and so proud to see how far uve gone now
Big yes to more emerald rogue runs! Not just your first success, but again when you unlock the rest of the dex!
That was super entertaining mate! Great way to bring some variety to the channel, loved it!
I'd love to see more Emerald Rogue videos!
This game looks like a lot of fun!
I'd love to see more of this, especially since each attempt adds more stuff to the game

Imho, this is easily the best video on your channel. I definitely want to see more Emerald Rogue.

Edit: That ending was AWESOME
That outro about growth is why I watch you 🙌 kill it next run
that ENDING MAN, you CAn'T MAKE THAT UP! xD
Would love to see more playthroughs of this man!
we definetly need a second video of emerald rogue
the last battle made me laugh so much
truly one of the videos I enjoyed the most in a long time!
I’d love to see more of these runs! Great to watch while I do some runs of my own!
Forgot about this game for a week until you uploaded this.. time to keep grinding
Loved this video!! As someone who has yet to complete a hardcore nuzlocke of Emerald Rogue myself, it was really inspiring seeing just how far you had made it in your first attempt! Hope you keep makin these :)
nah bro for your first attempt that was pretty clean, no roguelike is designed to be won the first run and you beat all 8 gyms thats pretty amazing
I just started playing this game as well, and am LOVING it. Please keep making videos on it!
You thought it was square space in the beginning but it was me! Red magic!
Would love to see more attempts at this romhack! Such a cool concept
Omg please please play this again! This was an absolute blast to watch
