Elastinen & Hedberg - that Macklemore you thought you heard came likely from ... mutten veren maku suus (... but not with blood taste in the mouth...) He was singing I do(/work) more than others, but not with blood taste in the mouth. That humor aspect was correctly spotted, Hedberg is a stand up comedian, with lots of physicalily in his show - part of the reason Hebderg is dancing with only a towel on. But he lightens the 'masculine ooze' with that ceiling touch. Elastinen is the real rapper here: He's 1 of the pioneers of Finnish rap - you can check Fintelligence (duo) to get his rise to fame. This collab with Hedberg was part of a series where Elastinen performed with famous Finnish artists, every week he made a duo song with another musician (10 or 12 maybe overall). Hedberg was approved as one of those musicians, coz he has been singing also in his stand up shows, usually short bits within the show - but he's also performing with a band. Think it's just in his name too. This collab was first time he tried to rap (in a public broadcast). Well, maybe besides a few stand up moments. His show is sometimes very associative, flowlike. When he's on the flow, he might pick a new thread from the audience, from an incident on the stage, from an association he gets from his own program. So he's very good in improvisation. Shame he didn't start with the rap scene as a kid - he'd be good in freestyle.
Petri Nygård - Selvä Päivä is a play on words. All of his songs are humoristic drinking songs. "Selvä päivä" literally means "clear day", but in actuality means "sober day". In the chorus they sing "Selvästi hyvä päivä, siis hyvästi selvä päivä" which translates to "Clearly a good day, that is farewell sober day". Basically, the whole song is about drinking and alcohol. Welcome to Finland!
Exactly. This song is literally the most finnish song I've ever heard in my hole life. And I'm from Findland so thants saying alot. But even though I'm from Finland, I have never in my life drank even one glass of alcohol. Not even once. Crazy, I know but it's true. I've only drank alcohol free siders.
Fun thing about them is that they sing in english, but the singer doesn't know a word of English, so the lyrics are just random words put toghether so that it sound good.
Someone should give you a translated lyrics that you could read them after watched those videos. It would be super good and you would see why the video is what it is. Now you miss so much of those songs.
Please react to Raskasta Joulua! It's a group of one of the best Finnish heavy metal bands and singers who came together to make Christmas songs in heavy metal style
That Sanni’s song is from her first album released 5 years ago. Since then she has become the biggest name in Finnish pop music industry, her songs, their musicality and production value has developed hugely. I strongly suggest to you to check out. Some of these songs. “Pornoo”, “Malagaan” “Kuka sen opettaa” and quite similar but more recent and bit more modern atmospheric way as the one you just reacted “Oo se kun oot”. When you said you’re interested about her sound and songs in future. Future from the one you just watched is now. So check those out. You might be amazed. :)
sk4th4 He doesn’t necessarily react to it over here, but everybody deserves a chance to have more knowledge about artists they feel interested, we can’t take that on away from anyone.
@@aleksilehtinen1213 i kown and yes everyone deserve to have more knowledge and own opinions and everything. Just had to say my opinion because personally to me Sanni's music is just aweful to listen to, ive tried multiple times but i just cant stand her music, she have a very nice voice but mostly she sings with the voice i that is really annoying to me. And if we drop her usually singing voice out of the conversation, then its the lyrics like day to day stuff or just the way sentences dont make much sence. And no its not her music genre its the voice and the lyrics. If song is good its good and if its made to just have something usually its bad, i mean really really bad :) these are just my toughts and Sannis's music just isnt my cup of tea 😉
You should react to Ellinoora - Funeral song! It’s originally by The Rasmus (another finnish band) but the cover was made in a finnish tv show called Vain Elämää in which there are 7 artists and everyone has their own day when the other artists sing one cover from their songs.
3rd song (J. Karjalaienen: Mennyt mies) the biggest Finnish singer-songwriter of all time. They play really well live as well. Finnish people will live you if you love J. Karjalainen or Olavi Uusivirta (a younger version of him).
These reactions would be really interesting ones x) Bess - Tempo Kotiteollisuus - Minä olen Portion Boys - Karjala Takas Olavi Uusivirta - Tuu mun vaimoksein
A few band/artist suggestions for the next one: 1. Roope Salminen & Koirat (great songs include Tanssi se ulos and Biisonit) 2. Chisu (a little different than what you have heard so far, try Yksinäisen keijun tarina, Baden-Baden or Saaliit for example) 3. Robin (not sure if you had him already, but Hula Hula and Boom Kah are pretty catchy) 4. Kasmir (same with him, was he on already? Try Vadelmavene or Vauvoja) ....aaaaaand there’s so many more but these are a few of my top choices! Thank you both for making these videos, I love watching them!
Last summer we had like 86 fahrenheits from May to end of August all the time, so it isn't cold always! But that heat was rare in Finland, usually its not that hot and it might rain. Few years back it was raining snow in the middle of summer!
"Poets of the Fall - Temple of Thought (live w/ lyrics)" They don't have a real music video since they love their own freedom and so make music independently.
Are you joking? Poets of the fall have lots of real music videos! Being a independent music producer is not an obstacle when it comes to music videos nowadays.
Still waiting for no 5! 🤔 I’m recommend Mokoma - Sydänjuuret, Teräsbetoni - Taivas lyö tulta (its like Manowar except in finnish), Poisonblack - Love Infernal. Enjoy!
Thanks for covering Finnish music again. I love your reactions. I'd really love to see you react to Steve'n'Seagulls' cover of Thunderstruck. They have become quite popular in the US. In 2016 they were on top of the Billboard Bluegrass chart. That cover song couldn't have been done anywhere but Finland and the video is pretty great.
"tulee tulee, polkee polkee, jaksaa jaksaa" is a thing from Sami Hedberg' s stand up show :D i don't remember the name of that specific act but i guess it could be found on youtube with that :D
It's frustrating to see these videos and seeing some great artists you've been recommended, but with so unfortunate choices of songs selected 😅 It's a matter of taste though, and luckily you liked most of the bands and hopefully you have had a chance to get to know more songs from them. I highly appreciate the fact, you're interested in different cultures and especially ours! Admirable open-mindedness 👌 Thanks for the great videos and hopefully you have a chance to visit our beloved Finland one day
Thanks to Spotify I fell in love with a band called Neljänsuora and I recommend reacting(or at least taking a listen to) Valtava Maailma! Someone mentioned it already, but there's a show called Vain Elamaa where 7 famous artists get together and essentially cover each other's songs. I would love to see you react to both Elinoora's Funeral Song(cover of The Rasmus) and Tuure Kilpeläinen's Finnish rendition of First Day of my Life. I'm still waiting for you to react to Apulanta too! Koneseen Kadonnut is my personal fave.
The last artist Sanni is singing about princesses and astronauts. The chorus is something like "We where supposed to be princesses and astronauts. Dress is in tatters, ("laskuhumala" = that part when you're drunk but you're getting sober) and Not finding a love from Onnela (name of a club)". And that is her first single, and nowadays she is pretty big star here. Her lyrics are good and she makes all her songs by herself.
Elastinen is originally from a rap/hip hop duo called Fintelligens and later on has went on to a solo career though Fintelligens is still active. You really should check them out next time! For example the song Stockholm Helsinki. It has a sick beat.
He was singing he is the New England Leatherman, check it out. He was a real historical figure, a nomad wandering the states of United States, making his own clothes from leather hence the name.
hello from thailand. subscribed. love your reaction videos. i've been a big fan of finnish/swedish/norvegian music for years. keep up the good work. btw, i would love to see you try listening to thai rock musci especially the band named "bodyslam" thank you.
It's a shame how many powerful, good messages Ryan misses by not understanding the lyrics. Like with Haloo Helsinki, and Mennyt mies and Prinsessoja ja astronautteja in this video. Their lyrics have a strong message and I'd love to hear what Ryan thinks about it
In Finland we have a music genre called "iskelmä" (also called humppa) it's like "adult/mature pop" But there's also different types, j.karjalainen is actually a bit more modern type iskelmä(?) and singers like Esa Pakarinen (example song kalakukko) or Reijo Taipale (with satumaa) have older type iskelmä that reminds me of Finnish black and White movies or theatre in general. And then there are Juha Tapio and samuli edelmann who are also considered iskelmä artists. They are considered more modern than j.karjalainen. Other countries don't seem to have anything exsactly like ours or even anything similar so it doesn't translate to any language
Täytyy jaksaa means "You have to keep on going" Bisset läikkyy means "Beer spills" Mennyt mies means "gone man" Selvä Päivä means "Sober Day" Prinsessoja ja astronautteja Means "Princesses and astronauts"
I could suggest GFM-onnellinen, Timo Rautiainen & trio niskalaukaus- lumessa kahlaajat, kls-tanssi, kwan-rain, tehosekoitin-hetken tie on kevyt, yö-kaksintaistelu, Leevi and the leavings-Kyllikki or Teuvo maanteiden kuningas or Sopivasti lihava or Rin tin tin, Jari sillanpää- satumaa. Also Antti tuisku, Oku Luukkainen, Juha Tapio, Vicky Rosti and Vesa-Matti Loiri has amazing production
In finnish language it's important to remember that almost every word is said just like it's written (it's probably important to know in that situation how to pronounce the letters)
As a rap song I highly recommend you to listen to "Gasellit - Se ei kuulu sulle". It doesn't have a music video but its still a very good song and it is nowadays hugely popular here in Finland. Anyways, thank you for the good video with great quality!
I strongly recommend to look up and react to couple of finnish classics. A band called Peer Gynt with a song "Backseat". And band called Hurriganes with their song "Get On". These songs are old but they will live forever. They got one of the best intros in finnish music history.
As finnish person watching all these videos i do appreciate you trying to pronounce words without never getting teached how to say finnish words and btw you did pronounce sami hedberg quite well

Is Finland the first country whose music gets a fourth episode or am I mistaken? Of course Sweden was a special case with 3 general videos, and one dedicated to metal, so that's four I guess.
Finnish music scene has a long history of humor music and also heavy metal, early 21st century was a rise of Finnish rap. Luckily we also have various types of excellent artists from many many genres :) I would recommend something like Teflon Brothers, Klamydia, Moonsorrow, Korpiklaani, Scandinavian Music Group, Antti Tuisku, Ailu Valle (raps in Sami language)... Hope you find some diamonds here! Also you should consider translating Finnish lyrics in English :D
Here's some song suggestions, some of my favourite songs from Finnish artists! Mix of different genres and some of them are really old already. Don Huonot - Seireeni Turisas - The March Of The Varangian Guard Chisu - Sabotage PMMP - Lautturi Whispered - Strike!
I think in a lot of Finnish songs (well, maybe not so much the party rap) the lyrics play a reeeally important role, so it could add a whole new layer to these videos if you read the translations as well. this came to mind when you were listening to J. Karjalainen and Sanni, such a shame you couldn't understand the lyrics of those!
Hey, i don't remember you reacting on Sonata Arctica music, i remember many people have hoping that and it's also my favourite band. Also, try Antti Tuisku, he is one of our most popular men artists at the moment. :)
Based on that music video Petri Nygård sounds/looks like the Finnish version of Markoolio (Swedes and possibly some Finns will know who I'm talking about).
You should listen Antti Tuisku. He is the biggest pop star in Finland. I would recommend a song called Hanuri. Also you should listen Apulanta, the band, which has been Finland's favorite for 20 years. Their song "Pahempi toistaan" is great.
Hi Brian! Since you haven't done Finnish Music videos for a very long time I decided to make you a list that covers pretty much everything (not!). Jenni Vartiainen - Suru on kunniavieras (pop) Beast in Black - Blind And Frozen (heavy metal) Lauri Tähkä & Elonkerjuu - Pauhaava sydän (ethno pop/rock) The Crash - Sugared (or anything. Everything is divine!) (pop) Jukka Poika - Silkkii (Finnish reggae) Chisu - Sabotage (pop) Ricky-Tick Big Band, Julkinen Sana - Talutushihnassa (Finnish rap with a big band) 22-pistepirkko - Birdy (indie rock) Dark Sarah - "Dance With The Dragon" feat. JP Leppäluoto (cinematic metal) Don Johnson Big Band - One MC, One Delay (rap) Steve'n'Seagulls - Thunderstruck (the best cover of all time!)

React to Hurriganes they were 1st famous finnish band in 1980 rockmusic
Fun thing about them is that they sing in english, but the singer doesn't know a word of English, so the lyrics are just random words put toghether so that it sound good.
Someone should give you a translated lyrics that you could read them after watched those videos. It would be super good and you would see why the video is what it is. Now you miss so much of those songs.
You are wrong, Summer is the best day of the year in Finland.
There r no Summer on here
@@jerelehtonen6323 whoosh?
@@kersaest No summer in finland is FINNISH MEME so you can't understand it
@@googlenkayttaja2993 i am from finland tho. The entire point of the comment was to suggest there is only one day of summer in finland.

No?
Okay-
I love watching you react to these kind of videos. You are so happy and honest. Love from sweden =)
Suomi on tulevaisuuden popmusiikki! edustamme rakasta maamme suomalaista ja olen ylpeä! 🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮💕💖
"Finland does not have summer?" Yes we have - best day of the year.
😂😂😂 Yeah, it was great thursday last year!
Sami Hedberg is a Finnish stand up comedian, this is the first time I hear him sing
*heard*
Please react to Raskasta Joulua! It's a group of one of the best Finnish heavy metal bands and singers who came together to make Christmas songs in heavy metal style
Brian: what the heck is going on?
Me: dont ask
Arttu Lindeman is one of those youtubers who dont know how to sign or make songs but they got connections to make music
:)
no more sanni :D
sk4th4 He doesn’t necessarily react to it over here, but everybody deserves a chance to have more knowledge about artists they feel interested, we can’t take that on away from anyone.
Malagaan ja kuka sen opettaa on vanhoja biisejä
You should react to Ellinoora - Funeral song!
It’s originally by The Rasmus (another finnish band) but the cover was made in a finnish tv show called Vain Elämää in which there are 7 artists and everyone has their own day when the other artists sing one cover from their songs.
Absolutely
Joo
Ellinoora=syöpää
Prinsessoja & Astronautteja is one of the Sanni's first songs. So yeah the quality of the songs is much better now.

Him: I feel uncomfortable.
Finns: You should
im from finland and i love that we have one youtuber who do videos about us You are one of the best youtubers
3rd song (J. Karjalaienen: Mennyt mies) the biggest Finnish singer-songwriter of all time. They play really well live as well. Finnish people will live you if you love J. Karjalainen or Olavi Uusivirta (a younger version of him).
These reactions would be really interesting ones x)
Bess - Tempo
Kotiteollisuus - Minä olen
Portion Boys - Karjala Takas
Olavi Uusivirta - Tuu mun vaimoksein
Wintersun - Sons of winter and stars - Live rehearsal @ Sonic Pump Studios
Listen : Rakkaus on lumivalkoinen
Big finnish legend!
React to hurriganes "I will stay" or "get on"
A few band/artist suggestions for the next one:
1. Roope Salminen & Koirat (great songs include Tanssi se ulos and Biisonit)
2. Chisu (a little different than what you have heard so far, try Yksinäisen keijun tarina, Baden-Baden or Saaliit for example)
3. Robin (not sure if you had him already, but Hula Hula and Boom Kah are pretty catchy)
4. Kasmir (same with him, was he on already? Try Vadelmavene or Vauvoja)
....aaaaaand there’s so many more but these are a few of my top choices! Thank you both for making these videos, I love watching them!
In Finland we have Summer it's the best day in the year like -10° it's freaking awesome!
Last summer we had like 86 fahrenheits from May to end of August all the time, so it isn't cold always! But that heat was rare in Finland, usually its not that hot and it might rain. Few years back it was raining snow in the middle of summer!
16:05
You said it almost perfectly! :0
It means "princesses and astronauts"
Hi brian again . Video was great. I'd like to see next episode Estonia music reaction 😊
"Poets of the Fall - Temple of Thought (live w/ lyrics)"
They don't have a real music video since they love their own freedom and so make music independently.
Poets of the Fall - Cradled in love
Leevi and The Leavings is one of the best finnish band
Still waiting for ”Poika saunoo” anyone with me?
Yes, we have summer in Finland. In summer it can be +30°c and in winter -30°c 😂
You should react to Sami Hedberg's comedy!
Lassi Toivonen yes please!
Kyllä
That would be difficult as he don't understand finnish...so all of the jokes would go over his head or has Sami done comedy in english?
@@takoja507 There's subtitles in most of hes videos
Maybe Ismo Leikola would be better.
why no more europe music reactions? miss your reactions.. i already saw all your videos about them twice...
Currently trying to make adventure vlogs in Europe vs reaction videos. 😄 Excited to visit again!
1st song: Arttu Lindeman is a youtube star as you but in a bigger scale so it’s possible for him to make music videos as well.
Nice channel. My spoon to the soup:
Stam1na - Muistipalapelit
Mokoma - Hei hei heinäkuu
CMX - Kivinen kirja
Kotiteollisuus - Minä olen
Their lyrics have a strong message and I'd love to hear what Ryan thinks about it
Another great video 👍🏻 if i choose one of there artist as my favorite it’s Sanni. She has so unique voice, but metal fan here💪🏻
In Finland we have a music genre called "iskelmä" (also called humppa) it's like "adult/mature pop"
But there's also different types, j.karjalainen is actually a bit more modern type iskelmä(?) and singers like Esa Pakarinen (example song kalakukko) or Reijo Taipale (with satumaa) have older type iskelmä that reminds me of Finnish black and White movies or theatre in general.
And then there are Juha Tapio and samuli edelmann who are also considered iskelmä artists. They are considered more modern than j.karjalainen.
Other countries don't seem to have anything exsactly like ours or even anything similar so it doesn't translate to any language
-as mentioned Sani is a stand up comedian. Elastinen is ex-rapper. -couple years ago Sami made 365 tour. 365 shows during one year.
The last one... WOW :o I'm hypnotized by it...
You dont eaven know how good i feel after someone notices finland
Täytyy jaksaa means "You have to keep on going"
Bisset läikkyy means "Beer spills"
Mennyt mies means "gone man"
Selvä Päivä means "Sober Day"
Prinsessoja ja astronautteja Means "Princesses and astronauts"
Petri Nygård does comedy music mostly about drinking and that stuff
Please; poets of the fall - standstill
Turmion kätilöt - irstauden ilosanoma
Fear of domination - deadweight
Kube - jumalflow?
In the song Arttu Lindeman - Läikkyy, there is a llama in the video :"3
Pepe Willberg - in my life. He is sings always finnish but in this show he sings the rasmus song. Please listen it
As a rap song I highly recommend you to listen to "Gasellit - Se ei kuulu sulle".
As finnish person watching all these videos i do appreciate you trying to pronounce words without never getting teached how to say finnish words and btw you did pronounce sami hedberg quite well
Brian, thank You for this channel! You are so cute and I think Finland is ready to adopt you!
Finnish music 5, please!!
Entwine - Break me,
Steve`n`Seagulls - Thunderstruck or if you would like to see some winter action from Finland, -You shook me all night long.
Jenni Vartiainen -Ihmisten edessä,
Janna -Sä et ole hullu.
And more HIM, please!!
So many of these songs would make so much more sense to you if you had some sort of translator or something 😂 Love the videos! Btw we do have summers in Finland.... well at least every other year i guess lol
So much love from Finland for you❤❤😍🇫🇮 to next part: klaavalla esson baariin or johanna kurkela oothan tässä vielä huomenna
U should definetly listen to Mikä kesä by Valvomo!! Its a total summer jam
As an estonian I am upvoting specific finnish songs:
Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus - Lumessakahlaajat
Maj Karma - Ukkonen
Dingo - Autiotalo
Ismo Alanko - Laulu (basically you see how old school can end 2+ hr concert - on a level that is rare these days)
There are more
J. Karjalainen is a national treasure
@Brian Velez: Here's the J.Karjalainen's lyrics translated in english: www.musixmatch.com/lyrics/J-Karjalainen/Mennyt-mies/translation/english (at least, sort of direct translation)
I Love these Finland reacts.. BTW, you can pronounce letter "R" like true Finn!! :D
This comment made my day. Thank you my friend! I’m glad you liked the video. I recently published a new video checking out the Finnish comedian, Ismo Leikola. Here it is if you havent seen it already 😄

Is Finland the first country whose music gets a fourth episode or am I mistaken? Of course Sweden was a special case with 3 general videos, and one dedicated to metal, so that's four I guess.
That guy who danced with towel is finnish comedian sami hedberg
You should check Sami Hedberg's videos. That "tulee tulee, polkee polkee, jaksaa jaksaa" is from Sami's one show! :'D
Don Huonot - Seireeni
Turisas - The March Of The Varangian Guard
Chisu - Sabotage
PMMP - Lautturi
Whispered - Strike!
maybe next time Aleksanteri Hakaniemi - Pane mut sekaisin or JVG - Häissä? 👀😊 Btw. I love your videos❤
Sanni is great singer. I really lover her.
Song what you played, I love ending of that. Piano part.
Karjalainen have so special voice and i like it
Why there is Petri Nygård
Mikael gabriel älä herätä mua unesta or helium?
The second song was from tv show
Based on that music video Petri Nygård sounds/looks like the Finnish version of Markoolio (Swedes and possibly some Finns will know who I'm talking about).
Heres few songs u could listen:
Happoradio -puhu äänellä jonka kuulen
Kirka -Hengaillaan
Klamydia -pyyntö
Anssi Kela -1972
You should listen Antti Tuisku. He is the biggest pop star in Finland. I would recommend a song called Hanuri. Also you should listen Apulanta, the band, which has been Finland's favorite for 20 years. Their song "Pahempi toistaan" is great.
Hi Brian! Since you haven't done Finnish Music videos for a very long time I decided to make you a list that covers pretty much everything (not!).
Jenni Vartiainen - Suru on kunniavieras (pop)
Beast in Black - Blind And Frozen (heavy metal)
Lauri Tähkä & Elonkerjuu - Pauhaava sydän (ethno pop/rock)
The Crash - Sugared (or anything. Everything is divine!) (pop)
Jukka Poika - Silkkii (Finnish reggae)
Chisu - Sabotage (pop)
Ricky-Tick Big Band, Julkinen Sana - Talutushihnassa (Finnish rap with a big band)
22-pistepirkko - Birdy (indie rock)
Dark Sarah - "Dance With The Dragon" feat. JP Leppäluoto (cinematic metal)
Don Johnson Big Band - One MC, One Delay (rap)
Steve'n'Seagulls - Thunderstruck (the best cover of all time!)
