this is a great song, has all the energy and aggression of early pixies. I am loving Indie Cindy even more. I realllllly hope a new album appears, sooner rather than later.
I loved them then and I love them now. A great song from a truly one of a kind band. Bless em for the fire in their bellies and getting on without diva Deal on board.
@@RobKirbyson14Kim is sober since early 2000, It was her commitment to the breeders which prevented new album earlier and in the end She quit 'cause she didn't wanna do It anymore, It wasn't drugs.
Their new album is great, its as good as any of their other ones, you'd almost swear it was only released a couple of years after Trompe la monde rather than 20 or so years later.
I agree with madstylesnz.....despite the hiatus Indie Cindy and Head Carrier are amazing albums... I put this down t the new dynamic of new bass players. By the way, Kim Shattuck is a great songwriter / arranger and performer....treat yourself and listen to The Muffs.....
I don't like every song on the new EP, but this one sounds just like a perfect evolution of the Trompe Le Monde sound. Which is probably my favorite Pixies album btw. Charles really seems to enjoy himself now, which was pretty rare if not non-existent at all during the late original Pixies years & the reunion tours. A band having fun live and writing new things, well, that's probably all I need as a fan.
I just watched the Friday extended version on my stereo tv and it sounded better than this youtube version, more balanced, lead vocals clearer and backing vocals more audible. But as a pixies diehard who was dreading hearing new stuff this is f*#king great whatever the sound quality. I could listen to just joey's guitar on its own all day long.
Im so glad I held out for Wave of Mutilation at the end of the show. Punch didnt do it for me, but perhaps thats just because it was the first time I have ever heard it. As for the new Kim, I couldnt hear her :(
Ok - Let's pretend this is some obscure band plucked out from the USA to appear on Jools - bit like Seasick Steve was. The plaudits would roll and everyone would be dying to buy that download [single] and the release of their album, which they probably only had 3 quality tracks for !! But IT'S THE FEKKIN PIXIES !!! Jeez - they can't be this good after sooooo long- the has beeeeeens. No Kim Deal - they can't be this good ! But THEY FUCKING ARE !
Dave's drums aren't loud enough for my liking and Joey's a little too loud in the mix? There's just that bit of "punch" missing. Charles' voice sounded a little strained during parts of "Wave Of Mutilation", maybe because of all the recent shows in North America? I dunno. Personally I'd have preferred the "UK Surf" version. I hope they get another two songs in Friday's show and really nail them because I fucking love this band! When they are tight and in the zone they are phenomenal live.
I don't think so. The problem is that most of what makes a pixies song a pixies song was the way Frank used to sing, that's why it's so difficult to cover a pixies song, unfortunatedly also for Frank himself: he had a voice and a control over his voice that he has lost. It has to do also with what Kim said in the vid. "kim deal about real bass players": they have lost also that "coldness"; now they're trying to put too much "swing". Paradoxically, they were more mature 25 years ago than now.
Joey is such a unique guitarist. Always loved his style.
Fantastic performance. RIP Kim Shattuck.
Her as well, and the remaining Muffs she left behind. Wrong Kim though right.
Kim's dead?
All Pixies songs must be listened some times to appreciate. As always

Kim Deal's heroin habit (and other musical commitments) painfully delayed Pixies getting back in the studio to record after 2005....

Damn, what a song. Pixies are the standard by which all indie rock should be judged.
I’m Grace and I play Bass 🖤⚡️

The new songs are simply correct
Wow! After their return, i've never liked their sound and spirit so much as now!
people seem to be quite negative on the new songs. close your eyes and listen, it is still the pixies, they are still fucking amazing. appreciate.

Joey man... JOEY
NO SABÍA QUE EL CUÑADO DE WALTHER WHITE ERA EL VOCALISTA DE LOS PIXIES..

I agree! CHVRCHES sound was bad, too. you can't hear any pads in the mix ..hope the sound is getting better next time ;)

Rock me Joe

Oh, Kim lost weight
5 people want Kim!
2 inches of flesh not evaluated under close scrutiny.
I don't dig it but for what it is it's alright I guess just too many crazy ass effects IMO
Ed is dead but not the pixies
That main guitar is a little distracting.
