I am absolutely amazed that “Tremors” has such a small standing in pop culture. If is almost never mentioned or satirized, and has ZERO merch of any kind. And this is considering that the movies and characters are generally really great, and that Burt had become the staple of an “armed to the teeth paranoiac”. This series desperately needs a resurgence.
Well, there are giant worms in the game, No Man's Sky. But they could just as easily been inspired by the sandworms of dune or Beetlejuice even. They do look quite a lot like graboids though, and also include flying variants, though those are still giant worms.. visually speaking.
I agree though. It's needs new life. That said, I haven't watched all of 4 or the series, but as far as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd, the guy who plays Burt, and Kevin Bacon are what brought a lot of popularity. I feel like not having the "main cast" be a continuous part of the franchise has killed a lot of interest. And practically, they have gotten worse over time so there's that too
@ Yep, also similar worms in a desert town set in “Nuka World” in fallout four. The aliens from “solar opposites” go through a secret door behind a graboid cutout at a Best Buy. Shake from Aqua Teen Hunger Force is scared of graboids when Frylock mentions that Meatwad is “like a damn worm”. Tremors is mentioned in American Dad when Roger disguises himself as Kevin Bacon. A level in Jedi Academy features graboid-like gameplay with sand worms that can be distracted by a thermal detonator, and a paper guide (remember those books for sale at GameStop?) even mentions that they are “like graboids”. Yeah, I’m a little bit of a fan, lol. But I would love to see family guy cutaway, or a robot chicken sketch, or hell, even a video game (as I am writing this, I am bumbling my way though “quiet place road ahead”. Badly.) And I would love some perfection valley t-shirts, or some of Jodi’s comics, mugs or action figures. And I went as Burt Gummer with a home made graboid corpse for comic con 2018. A nerd can dream…..
The original Tremors was one of my favorite monster movies from my childhood. Tremors 2 was also quite good. 3 was... okay. Pretty cheesy. 4... I don't talk about 4. Or the ice one. And further? Ugh. What they did to Tremors should be criminal.
American Graboids might be stunted in evolution because they were isolated to paradise according to the first movie, due to the solid rock limiting their ability to leave the area.
Love the channel I was wondering what happened to the living tribunral explained video? Is it planned to be back on the channel! Thank you marvelous videos❤
Tremors 2 is my fav and i called them Heatseekers same as Earl did before i heard the other names so i still call them that but my fav design for them is The Skull faced one.
Shriker's have a 12 too 72 hour metamorphosis time period depending upon lots of different factors. Also there are between 3 and 6 different Graboid species depending upon what media you are using for a reference. Also depending upon the exact version of the Graboid the other forms of the life cycle will have better or worse senses.
Anybody remember 'Tremors' the TV series shown on the Sci-Fi Channel in 2003? I gave up watching after too many annoying ads, don't know if it was mentioned.
THEM NETFLIX POS ONLY PUT THE FIRST TREMORS UP IN THE CANADIAN VERSION. And I personally think they shouldn't be allowed to do entirely separate sites between places. Disney+ is fucking Disney+ EVERYWHERE just in different languages
@@MrVash104 bigger things? not at all, the animals back in the precambrian period were.... barely animals, its one of the earliest stages in the life of our planet. think of worms, jellyfish and creatures that looked like plants but werent. seems like the Graboid evolved to be able to eat today's animals is all.
@MrVash104 I don't know what they ate. I would guess shriekers. But it's literally expressly stated in tremors 2. One of the characters was studying a fossil when she realized it was a spine from the back of a graboid. She claimed it was precambrian rock. And it was further cemented as canon when burke specifically acknowledged them to be precambrian to a news crew
Netflix had tremors a while back they constantly taking great legacy films off the air to keep popular ones up and less popular ones cycled, tremors sadly as great of movies they are don’t get thier full credit for thier potential like prehistoric species that jus emerged, stuff like this actually happens crocodiles, fish, birds, thought to be extinct but aren’t, loved watching the original 4 growing up and having the new 3 ones introduce different breeds by continent was awesome, but the 7th installment was was about the shriekers brought to a game preserve by illegal pulchers, is actually called shrieker island not island fury, that was just a concept name.
I am so sad that they talked about the African variety having denser mandibles and acid to chew through rocks, Burt saying "that means there's nowhere to hide" and then we NEVER got anything more on that area. I wanted to see that little "we're stuck on this rock but we're limited on time, they told me these are different and can eat through the rocks"
It's likely takes time meaning you can't wait one out on a rock but it provides an immediate safe zone but probably in a day or 2 the rocks structural integrity will fail and you die
Is it just me or does Tremors seem to have the same creativity as the Xenomorphs from the Alien franchise? Because both creatures seem to have a weird life cycle, in order to keep the species going one creature dies to make the next. Graboids die to let shriekers eat their way out to become ass blaster which lay eggs to make more graboids. In Alien the eggs (ovalmorphs) are an organism itself keeping the face facehugger inside nourished until hatching time from sensing life nearby. Once hatched the ovalmorph dies, and when the facehugger implants an embryo into a host, the facehugger also dies. Not judging both franchises, just find it kinda funny how both have this dying and hatching method for survival.
The only bad thing about tremors is that they killed off burt. Understandable that he was older already but to kill him off. Apart from that I find the African ass blaster more terrifying than the original one
Perfection Nevada not Mexico, also big fan of the movies and series I just didn't like the design of the African butt blasters like it would have made more sense if they were similar in design just different like the American ones look like they could be velociraptors with swan necks and pelican heads while the African ones could have been more spinosaurus head and neck with a lower jaw that is split into three or four jaw bones kind of like the regular graboid keeping those dragon/bat-like wings but instead they decided to choose something that looks like it belongs in the 40K universe coming out of the warp I know Africa is considered the dark Continent because some of the scary stuff that's there but that's a little bit over the top don't you think, also surprising they never put any in Australia like that would be a perfect example why part of the reason some of the megafauna during the ice age there went away like the giant kangaroo or the thilaka Leo the marsupial lion and other big herbivores also the giant Komodo dragon they had and that would be an in universe plausible reason for why those aren't around anymore and because of all the toxic animals like different snakes and scorpions and spiders they could have even mutated to have poison glands or have the same kind of toxicity that the saliva of the Komodo dragon has that prevents blood clotting. Also would have been nice if you actually add more for the Arctic species and the ones from shrieker Island
The only really good film. Maybe if you use a VPN and change your country. It's probably on there for a different nations service. You can always search in Google and sign up for free trial of a different streaming service. I'll do that some times if a film isn't available on any of my subscriptions. Than forget to cancel and end up canceling my credit card and getting a new one to cancel all my services at once.
Did not realize there was more than 3 stages. I remembered the 1st 2 movies. Unfortunatley, i remember ass-blasters. Ass-blasters is when the series started to lose me. Tremors are all watchable but 1st 2 are the only good to great films. Part 5 was suprisingly watchable and 6 was ok but a step down. Part 7 was a low point. I did not finish.
It never got completed due to losing budget cost from producing the first film, so they lost interest and profit by the middle of the series of the first season and had to cut it due to the funding and loss of interest in the franchise, choosing to make the other films from the first 4 instead to kinda revive the movies. Only 12 episodes I believe but is still really good not like the movies tho where they were low on budget.
I love that Michael Gross comes back as Burt no matter how small the budget as it make it hard for them to mess with things.

Something modern, or back from 90’s?
Google is showing one with a grey graboid mug and the “giant toothed maw pointing up” on the side.
I grew up watching these movies, im so sad theyre not more popular.

The TV series would be a nice addition to cover.
I always thought an Assblaster was a combo they sold at Taco Bell.
That's either the Diarrhea Dump [in your rear] combo from the 90s or Explosive Schitz combo nowadays. 😂

Petition for African graboid plushy with smaller grabber plushes inside?
Or egg plusies that flip inside out to turn into shreikers
its confirmed in tremors 2 that they are precambrian lifeforms. there isnt any confusion there

Netflix does not have Tremors in the US. I was just searching for it last night 😢
