Now I am 10 days after quitting my last job. My life path has lead me to this point by going through many, many toxic jobs because of the nature of the superiors and how they abused their power to bully me in very shameful ways. Now I don't like to say that something needs to change but what needs to change is of course a lot of stuff. Change means doing something in a different way. I already started to differ my living from the day after quitting the job. I think I have to keep doing things differently to change my life. I am trying to figure that out.
Hi Iris, I’ve literally just stumbled across your site and on my second video. I just want to acknowledge that whilst this is clearly an old video for you; it totally resonates with me and exactly what I needed today. I teach and want to get out of teaching. You speak clearly and offer a sound, structured approach. Thank you for coming into my life. I assume your career had grown immensely today! Love your style and explicit delivery.
Things need to change because I want to be happier on the long run. If things didn't change it would make my life unmanageable as I keep running from abusive situations.
Thank you so much for this! This has helped me so much! I have watched so many video's and read articles on how to figure this out and it was a bunch of circle talk that didn't really help at all or clarify anything. This was actually informative and helpful especially about helping me to realize it may not be 1 passion. I have adhd and my biggest problem was being talented or have interests in multiple areas. I didn't know what to pick or how to stick with something long term.
I felt like I'm being coached in this video! Love it, Iris and Carly. Absolutely helpful for me to follow the questions and journal down my answers to achieve clarity. Love what you are doing, keep it up. ❤️
Hi!!! So I have been unemployed for 3 months now...trying to figure out what to do next. I have been applying for jobs on Job boards and LinkedIn but I often feel like I want to feel more EXCITED for the jobs I am applying for. I am creative (I paint and like to use my hands for creating things and baking/cooking) but I have no idea where to go next and where. I am lucky as I am single and can look for work wherever but I feel paralyzed as I don't know WHERE to be looking for work either. I have a Masters degree in Tourism and liek Carly I ended up getting into TEFL because couldn't find a decent job in tourism so I have lots of transferable and soft skills from my middle-management jobs in teaching. I have also moved back to my parents and they are constanty pressuring me (at 36 years old, it's very tricky!) Any advice is welcome - most of all thank you for your videos! xxx
Hi Sophie! You're so welcome (and sorry for the terribly late response). Really hope you've found a job you like/love by now, or at least something temporary to keep you going whilst you look for the next thing. I totally get what you're saying about wanting to feel more excited about the jobs you've been applying for. Job boards + LinkedIn can be soul-destroying when it comes to looking/applying for jobs. Have you tried doing informational interviews or curiosity conversations? They're a more indirect approach to looking for a new job (and so it can potentially take a bit longer to find a new job through this), but it can also be a lot more inspiring and energising than LinkedIn + job boards. Brian Grazer wrote a good book about the concept of curiosity conversations. it's called "A Curious Mind: The Secret To a Bigger Life". If you like reading non-fiction, I suggest you check it out 😊

This video is so useful. The journal prompts and explanations with examples are so practical and adaptable. Thank you for sharing this! ❤

And you keep it up too - keep on moving into the direction that feels right for you 🤗
I don't necessarily hate what kind of work I do, but I hate the company I work for. I have a passion to produce art and make films.
I am a pastry chef and have been told I am allergic to several ingredients that are used daily. Like yeast, sugar, gluten, dairy, all kinds of cheese.
That's unfortunate... 😒
@carly what would you suggest as a starting point-course to become a life coach?
Hi Iris! I am based in Singapore. I am in situation 1. Really resonated alot with the teachings! Absolutely great video gem
You're so welcome Jess! Hope you've got some newfound clarity from this video/workshop.
