@@Cynos_Husband Quite a few people on the HTTYD reddit and fandom in general refuse to believe that they aren't the same species. I've had an argument with one guy (probably a troll) who didn't listen to a word I said, his argument being "but Grimmel said 'a female?' when he saw her, and that means she's a female night fury because he didn't say light fury!" even though there is like 30 other arguments that disprove it (plus it's a super weak argument). Their silhouettes are similar enough that you can tell they're close in relation as far as species goes, but even the male light fury has the differently shaped wings and one less pair of the sensors on their heads. The tailfins are the same for male night and light furies and the nightlights though.
50:00 the 4th movie idea about grown up hiccup and his kids is a nice but very dangerous idea when dealing with a trilogy known to be the strongest animated trilogy in all its installments)..so introducing a 4th movie is very high risk especially after a while since nostalgia makes everything set at a higher bar. That being said. The only thing I would say here is that apparently his kids names are Zephyr (girl) and Nuffink (odd name, sounds like "nothing" I guess? Maybe to mirror hiccup sounding like a mistake?) Eitherway, I'm surprised hiccup didn't name his son after his dad Stoik, a lot of Vikings would have honored their greatest leaders like that. But now that I think about it that is exactly something hiccup WOULDN'T do (naming his kid after Stoik) , not because of not honoring his dad but because he honors his dad so much yet loves his kids and family so much that he, as the hiccup of the Viking tribe, knows what it's like to have the world have too many expectations from you that you may never live up to the way they want you to. And giving Stoik name to his son would pretty much make his own kid struggle to live up to the name of his grandfather and may make him live in the shadow of that name and never live out your own life and expectations your way... Or... It may come as a depressing resentment of the expectations that come with he name which we've seen before in generational trauma and cultural expectations. So hiccup not naming him kid Stoik now makes perfect sense : you be your own you, the way I was my own me, we have no forced expectations from you ok?, nothing, Nuffink. Now spread your wings and fly like the wind, like your sister ...Zephyr.
The movies are based on a series of books but the books are VERY different. In the beginning of the first book, Hiccup talks about how, "When he was young, there were dragons", so when the movies were created, from the beginning, the plan was to remove all of the dragons from the world. In the books, dragons are already a part of the Vikings' lives and there are dragons on several islands, not just Berk. Also, the kids, when they reach a certain age, are supposed to sneak into a wild dragon hatchery and steal an egg. They then hatch it and it becomes their dragon companion. Different species of dragons nest in the same location, so the kids never knew what kind of dragon they were going to get. Hiccup ended up with Toothless. It's implied in the movies that the dragons have an actual language and, in the books, Hiccup can actually understand and speak the dragon language. However, there are no night or light furies and Toothless is thought to be a fairly common, not very powerful dragon. He's also very lazy. There's no Astrid, either, but there are a couple of characters that were probably combined to create Astrid. The books have a really good story, it's just extremely different from the one in the movies.
One thing that I never see anyone mentioning but still makes my heart weep: Hiccup and toothless last goodbye (before time skip) can be seen as the exact reverse on the gesture they first bonded with. They became friends with Toothless nose touching Hiccup hand, they part with that hand leaving his nose. Probably one of the very few scene that made me shed a tear
hiccup's son pickup? Watch the how to train your dragon christmas special, it takes place between this and the last movie which sucks cuz toothless is living with his family now. But the christmas special fits now that it's december!
This is propably my favourite franchise, because it was part of my childhood if you want, you can also watch the series, you will find out what happened between the first and the second movie, there are lots of new dragons, the villains are really well done, you will see some of the characters from a much better angle than in the movies, you will met some new amazing characters, and a lot of the things you saw in the other movies will be explained how it actually started, there will also be a lot of amazing moments between Hiccup and Astrid, the series is divided into two parts, one takes place after the first movie, and the other 1/2 years before the second movie, my favorite part is definitely the second, the first part consists of two seasons of 20 episodes each, and the second part consists of 6 seasons of 13 episodes each, but honestly it's really worth watching, I say this as a fan who got to know this franchise 10 years ago and I loved it immediately
35:30 I didn't notice that was the same dragon from the second movie, I wonder where Drago is. I didn't see this when it came out but I'm glad I watched Reel Rejects and your reactions to the trilogy. I love the characters and their designs really evolved overtime, especially Astrid❤.
Loved that you loved this franchise. There was a Christmas special that took place just before Hiccup and Astrid reunited with Toothless and it has Toothless’ and Hiccup’s kids and it leads into the last scene of the movie beautifully. Also Hiccup and Astrid did start properly dating halfway through the third series which is set before the second movie and yes they’ve kissed many times in it 😂.
I know you were upset at hiccup but technically he was doing what alot they do in politics be peacekeepers or peacmakesers but hiccup trying to protect his own his way

There's a little movie called Homecoming where their kids meet Toothless' kids. It's about 40 minutes long, but it's still amazing to see the personality of the children and baby dragons, you should react!❤️❤️
There's also a series called dragons the nine realms which takes place 1300 years after the hidden world, it was quite sad at the start when it's in the advanced age than the viking age.
I know you said u didn’t wanna do the Netflix show but it’s really most of the content man. 99% of the new dragons and events and canon stuff all happens in the show. It’s set between the first and second movies and it’s worth a grind. Peace brother 🤙

Enjoyed the reaction as always. Now that you have finished this series, another good ones I would like to recommend is pirates of the Caribbean, planet of the apes, and lord of the rings( Start with the hobbit). They are all amazing series and I hope you would give them a try
Something that it shows in this movie, but doesn't explain is that light furies and night furies are different breeds of the same species like how dogs can cross breed even with wolves, but not with others.
light fury and night fury are two different species but very similar kinda like diffrent species of dogs for example shiba inu and akita very similar but theyre two diffrent dogs
She wasnt a deadbeat wife or mom, if you think that then you didnt understand why she stayed away in the previous movie. It was a mistake to stay away and she owned up to that.
You probably don't know this, but there is actually a fourth part to the story, besides the TV series! It's called "How to train your dragon: homecoming", and it's a small spin-off lasting about half an hour. I recommend you see it, it's very cute! ;)
18:20 After seeing the series i agree, as the alpha toothless would have control over some seriously powerful dragons, imagine if he got dragons like "The screaming death" to protect berk from enemies, plus as you said, with the numbers they have nobody should be a threat, the problem is they don't want to risk even any dragon getting hurt
The short version of what I’m trying to say: TL;DR: The first tv show in this franchise (Riders/Defenders Of Berk to Race To The Edge) as well as all the short films are really good and I would really like it if you would react to them or at least watch it on your own time if you’re not gonna react to it on camera. I would really like to see more creators reacting to this show. The long version: This franchise has 3 movies and 3 different tv series’s as well as 2 Christmas themed short films, two non-Christmas short films and one short film that basically looks like a tv show episode. And while the two newer tv series’s are trash I would (depending on how much you enjoyed the movie/s) „highly“ recommend you to check all of the 5 seasons of the original tv series (Dragons: Riders Of Berk Season 1, Dragons: Defenders Of Berk Season 2 and Dragons: Race To The Edge Season 3 to 5 (RTTE has it’s own season count of season 1 to 6 since it’s much bigger than riders and defenders.)) as well as the short films preferably (for us) on UA-cam and/or Patreön but if you don’t want to at least alone off cam because even though there isn’t that many people who watched the tv show after the movie/s it’s really good! Though my guess to why so many people never watched it is probably because they think it’s for children and for children only even though it’s for about the same audience as the movies. In my personal opinion I would rank Dragons: Race To The Edge at about the same height as the first movie if not even higher and then Defenders, then Riders, then the first Christmas short film, than the sequel and then the other short films and then the threequel. Though opinions may differ. Also RTTE really picks up after season 1 of RTTE. And Dragons: Rescue Riders is a kids show and Dragons: The Nine Realms is so bad that you can’t even tell who the intended audience is because unless you’re a braindead 4 year old you’ll probably stop watching after the first episode because of how poorly written, designed and animated everything is. I think almost everyone ranks Rescue Riders and 9 Realms at the bottom of their tier list. Though I personally would really REALLY like seeing more people reacting to at least D:RTTE if nothing else since there is so many reactions to the movies but so little reactions to the tv series. Of course each individual episode isn’t as high quality as the movies because obviously they needed to pump out more episodes in a shorter amount of time compared to the movies where they had more time to produce an over an hour long movie. But the story, plot, narrative, characters and music are all still really good in the tv series. Also Fishlegs, Sir Snotsalot and The Nuts are all relevant main characters in the series. You also learn how the All the vikings learn to integrate dragons into their society and how for example Hiccup gets is flight suit or his flame sword. The only thing that tanked more heavily is the quality of the visuals but it gets much better in RTTE and it’s never so bad you can’t watch it. It’s still really good. It’s just much much worse compared to the movies. The tv show has over 100 episodes that are all over 20 minutes long. Also the show has really good villains and they get better every time they introduce a new one. And the villains from the show are much much better than the ones in the movies. In summary, The movies have beautiful animations and scenery while the tv shows have much better character writing and world building. I probably will or already have reused this comment under other newer HTTYD reactions in hopes of getting someone to start a reaction series for the Dragons tv series wich is why I put so much effort into writing it. Also I don’t know how to make this comment shorter while still being able to make my point. I would enjoy you (or anyone) reacting to the tv series but if ya don’t then that’s your choice. I can’t blame you. I can only give it my best shot to convince you or anyone who’s reading this to give it a shot but if ya don’t then ya don’t it ain‘t the biggest deal in the whole world.
I remember watching this on my 11th birthday and I cried buckets I want them to make a number 4 so bad where like they do a final fight to finally get rid of the hunters for good and bring peace in the world so the dragons and visit their humans and roam through other places more without having the threat of getting hunted😭 I’d be nice if it was like years later where both hiccup’s kids and the nightlights are older so the kids could ride them and help with battle I would never stop watching that movie😭
Is crazy to think about hiccup would be grimel if he would have killed toothless in the first movie. same body type, smart and so many other similarities between them

i know you won't watch the series but the stuff they have been through, the the dragons they met and the enemies they made were insane, there are also tons of new loveable characters etc, also the origins of hiccups sword, his wings, stoic's and gobbers dragons etc are all explained in the series, plus knowing what they been through in the movies and series makes the ending more sad
In the books Hiccup & Snotlout are cousins…so him moving on his aunt weirded me out😭
Damn 😂
….Wut?
Not called Sweet Home AlaBerk for nuthin
There is also one special movie "How To Train Your Dragon:Homecoming" it's for the Christmas special after every HTTYD for every fan who want's more
Fun fact: the light furry is a different breed , similar to a night furry , bur night furries were the only ones to get hunted
I feel like that's something obvious..since their silhouettes don't even look the same..but maybe not everyone knew right away.
@@briarrr__ I would get so mad if I was in your shoes 😭
50:00 the 4th movie idea about grown up hiccup and his kids is a nice but very dangerous idea when dealing with a trilogy known to be the strongest animated trilogy in all its installments)..so introducing a 4th movie is very high risk especially after a while since nostalgia makes everything set at a higher bar.
That being said. The only thing I would say here is that apparently his kids names are Zephyr (girl) and Nuffink (odd name, sounds like "nothing" I guess? Maybe to mirror hiccup sounding like a mistake?)
Eitherway, I'm surprised hiccup didn't name his son after his dad Stoik, a lot of Vikings would have honored their greatest leaders like that.
"Everybody just breeding, flip!" got me xDDD
One thing that I never see anyone mentioning but still makes my heart weep: Hiccup and toothless last goodbye (before time skip) can be seen as the exact reverse on the gesture they first bonded with. They became friends with Toothless nose touching Hiccup hand, they part with that hand leaving his nose. Probably one of the very few scene that made me shed a tear
I love this one cause the bad guy is basically hiccup if he actually killed toothless in the first movie
I found your channel like 3-4 weeks ago and now you’re pretty much the only channel I watch (keep doing what you’re doing, WE LOVE IT❤)
If you notice when the light fury saves hiccup it’s the same face toothless makes when he saves Astrid in movie one
There’s a holiday special in between their marriage and the epilogue that’s super good too. Should definitely check it out
hiccup's son pickup? Watch the how to train your dragon christmas special, it takes place between this and the last movie which sucks cuz toothless is living with his family now. But the christmas special fits now that it's december!
This is propably my favourite franchise, because it was part of my childhood
if you want, you can also watch the series, you will find out what happened between the first and the second movie, there are lots of new dragons, the villains are really well done, you will see some of the characters from a much better angle than in the movies, you will met some new amazing characters, and a lot of the things you saw in the other movies will be explained how it actually started, there will also be a lot of amazing moments between Hiccup and Astrid, the series is divided into two parts, one takes place after the first movie, and the other 1/2 years before the second movie, my favorite part is definitely the second, the first part consists of two seasons of 20 episodes each, and the second part consists of 6 seasons of 13 episodes each, but honestly it's really worth watching, I say this as a fan who got to know this franchise 10 years ago and I loved it immediately
28:42 "okay TOOTHLESS MY DRIGGA" IM CRYINNN
35:30 I didn't notice that was the same dragon from the second movie, I wonder where Drago is. I didn't see this when it came out but I'm glad I watched Reel Rejects and your reactions to the trilogy. I love the characters and their designs really evolved overtime, especially Astrid❤.
It’s so sad ugh this is my favorite trilogy but omg maybe bc it made me cry so much I need them to be together forever 😭😭😭 I NEED MORE 😭
Loved that you loved this franchise.
Iirc the reason why the Light Fury can turn “invisible” is because she’s superheating her scales, giving her a mirror look.
One of the best franchises ever man. What a piece of art, the whole trilogy
Btw they made a show called how to train your dragon race to the edge
I know you were upset at hiccup but technically he was doing what alot they do in politics be peacekeepers or peacmakesers but hiccup trying to protect his own his way
knowing how they make movies nowadays do you really want another one? it may be sad but the ending was perfect for that story.
They misunderstood in their own ways, got hurt similarly, both grew and healed together, leaders of their clans. Now living thrir best indeoendant lives reaching their potential.

MAN YOU’VE GOT TO WATCH HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON HOMECOMING!! Homecoming is like a mini movie that takes place after the 3rd movie, it’s actually good you should check it out
There's a little movie called Homecoming where their kids meet Toothless' kids.
Peace brother 🤙
fr bro needs to watch that
Fun fact, there's a how to train your dragon next generation tv show, called dragons the nine realms, it takes place 1300 years after the events of the third movie, so all the previous characters are probably dead
I recommend watching gift of the night fury! It’s based during Christmas time and it around 22 minutes long :)
The two other light furies are confirmed to be the parents of Toothless’ light fury
I never knew that
This trilogy along with the Cars trilogy both started and ended my childhood. I couldnt be more grateful for these movies.
Timescip between the goodbye to toothless to the happy returning:10 years
Enjoyed the reaction as always. Now that you have finished this series, another good ones I would like to recommend is pirates of the Caribbean, planet of the apes, and lord of the rings( Start with the hobbit). They are all amazing series and I hope you would give them a try
definetly planet of the apes!!!
God, I love this movie so much. I’m glad you watched this!
The Light Fury can go 'invisible' by allowing her scales to mirror her surroundings.
I just realized it’s been five years since I watched this in theaters 👁️👄👁️
Where has the time gone??
It still feels like a brand new movie..
11:21 bro i like that they make toothles by a cat, and they still make him as a cat
Something that it shows in this movie, but doesn't explain is that light furies and night furies are different breeds of the same species like how dogs can cross breed even with wolves, but not with others.
I love your reactions man! When I saw this notification I got happy because this movie is so amazing keep up the amazing work
Most of the moves Hiccup tried to show Toothless for courting the Light Fury are based on real courting moves of male birds-of-paradise.
Kinda cried at the last part I was happy for them but sad that they were apart
He needs to watch race to the edge and riders of Berk and defenders of berk
There is actually a Christmas special that takes place before How To Train Your Dragon 2. You should watch that for the Christmas cheer!
Hey I just realised you posted this on my birthday!
I feel like Don would definitely enjoy The Incredibles
light fury and night fury are two different species but very similar kinda like diffrent species of dogs for example shiba inu and akita very similar but theyre two diffrent dogs
You should definitely watch the tv series ‘Race To The Edge’, I love the villains In that so much, especially Viggo Grimborn.
i literally cried when i saw this in the cinema
She wasnt a deadbeat wife or mom, if you think that then you didnt understand why she stayed away in the previous movie. It was a mistake to stay away and she owned up to that.
seen it 1000000 times and i still cry lol
You probably don't know this, but there is actually a fourth part to the story, besides the TV series! It's called "How to train your dragon: homecoming", and it's a small spin-off lasting about half an hour. I recommend you see it, it's very cute! ;)
18:20 After seeing the series i agree, as the alpha toothless would have control over some seriously powerful dragons, imagine if he got dragons like "The screaming death" to protect berk from enemies, plus as you said, with the numbers they have nobody should be a threat, the problem is they don't want to risk even any dragon getting hurt
the goodbye scene gets me every damn time man
18:21 mans casually forgetting that forcing the flock to show up and show out was the entire plan of the leaders that hired grimmel
in the marry scene under stoik statue u can see the first time they met
The short version of what I’m trying to say:
TL;DR: The first tv show in this franchise (Riders/Defenders Of Berk to Race To The Edge) as well as all the short films are really good and I would really like it if you would react to them or at least watch it on your own time if you’re not gonna react to it on camera. I would really like to see more creators reacting to this show.
The long version:
This franchise has 3 movies and 3 different tv series’s as well as 2 Christmas themed short films, two non-Christmas short films and one short film that basically looks like a tv show episode.
Fun fact about the nightfury their distant cousins of the skrill which if you watch the series it’s a lightening type dragon 🐉
Where have you been with these movies came out 😭 I was like 7 When I first watched How to train your dragon
There is a mini movie called How To Train Your Dragon Homecoming
Finally someone notice two light fury's i thought i was the only one who notice that
IVE BEEN WAITINGGGGGG FOR THISSSSSSSS
his children are called Zepher and Nuffink with Zepher being the oldest
I remember watching this on my 11th birthday and I cried buckets I want them to make a number 4 so bad where like they do a final fight to finally get rid of the hunters for good and bring peace in the world so the dragons and visit their humans and roam through other places more without having the threat of getting hunted😭 I’d be nice if it was like years later where both hiccup’s kids and the nightlights are older so the kids could ride them and help with battle I would never stop watching that movie😭
This movie invented the "your mom" joke
Is crazy to think about hiccup would be grimel if he would have killed toothless in the first movie. same body type, smart and so many other similarities between them
I was just about to go off on a huge tangent involving the episode “darkest night” but then I realized I misread you…
35:30 HECK this is what I mean I lacked observation because I didn't noticed it too until you said it.
Mr. Ditkovitch went from collecting rent to capturing dragons 🐉😂
Hiccups age throughout all of the movies.(that I've seen😅)
1 :15
2 :20
3 :21
end of 3 :31
Don, you are brightening up my day all the time and with 11 stitches in my knee and I have to stay inside all day, you're really helpin. Thanks from America! -Charred_Editz
3 movies is a trilogy
Been so fun watching your reactions hehe
Dude, you just have to watch a TV series about dragons, not only because of the awesome connection with the second part and the explanation of some things (like Stoick's dragon and Hiccup's sword) but also because of the plot in principle.
And if you like watching Astrid and Hiccup's relationship develop (since when have they been engaged,
for example) then you just won’t be able to stop watching this series))))
I loved it num3 was peak I cried at the end in the theater when toothless and the other dragons had to leave for the hidden world
You need to watch defenders of berk and race to the edge
I know you said probably not, but you really should look into the shows. I personally enjoyed them more than the movies.
Hiccup was 15 in movie 1
20 in movie 2
And 21 in movie 3
you can watch the homecoming movie of this franchise its pretty good
