They way I'm not really into rap, I don't understand anything about what you're saying but Han made me appreciate rap more and he's my favorite for a reason, this video exaplain the reason, I'm just obsessed with his rapping skills. 6:58 Absolutely agree, he is showing a lot of his skills that's why I still think he's the best in the group, people thinks that Changbin's energy and dark tone is what makes him the best of the best, is not that it's a lot of different things and Han is a lot more versatile that's why I think he's the best.
As a changbin biased,I agree.Han is amazing,he's getting better and better. This year we got changbin's worst verses: runners, night, walking on water, U,sayain.thanks jisung saved skz rap aspect this year ,also last year.
i agree what u said about han and changbin and i would do the same as well put han above cause han has a ability to rap fast and use different flows and even mix them and like u said he is mix of zico and mino i totally agree with that
both changbin and han got good flows and talented rappers for real but their recent songs...😭 didn't do them justice. nowadays their songs more like easy to sing for everyone. they focuses on that fair line more cuz stays were annoying bout it. it makes the jewels of the groups, what skz was once known for: hip hop, and strong raps and rappers kinda put aside??? 2018-2021 skz were peak of skz music for me. 22-24 where skz got more popular and got many akgaes that can't accept their faves got lesser lines 😭 they wanted fair lines all the time where it makes their music quality went down so much. coming from a stay since 2018 that stan skz bcz awaken changbin's rap, hellevator rap, the voices rap. mirror rap and many more.
Agree. Rap focused groups always suffer because fans want “fair line distribution” for vocalists/dancers and that puts them in disadvantage. They developed the sound for the group to give other members more lines and that’s weakened their music, because rap made it special. The vocal line is Average at best, so the music have weak vocals and weak and simple rap parts. The complexity is gone, because they try to balance all members lines. I personally do not care about line distribution, if the song hits hard. But many people love their bias more than they love the music of the group. It is common problem in k-pop
@@zzz7103 Their vocals are def not "avg at best". It only feels that way coz they allow the weakest to sing. Seungmin, Han, Chan song with a little spice from Lino and I.N would be fire. They just should do units but titletrack cant have units and the most popular members cant sing and barely mumble a rap. Akgaes would riot if they were in songs as much as they should.
As someone who used to play drums in a marching band, i see triplets, quintuplet, septuplets, all those, sht almost EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. And yes, IT IS NOT FCKING EASY especially if u have the broken tuplets 😵😵💫 And this is exactly why i love raps in a song piece. I freaking appreciate all these rythms these rappers put out in a song. It's not just about the syllables count or the speed wtsv. It's these details that made it even more MINDBLOWING. Just like percussions are the heartbeat of a music score, raps in a song piece are similar in a way ykno. AND DAMN I JUST LOVE IT 🔥 And thank YOU for explaining all of this to people out there musically, so they could appreciate the track even more than they already did. I KID YOU NOT I WAS AS EXCITED AS YOU ARE WHEN U EXPLAINED THROUGH THIS WHOLE VIDEO. THANK YOU SO MUCH.
I am so thankful for these type of videos bc I really am so uneducated in music and all it conveys, specifically in rapping. But I get to learn a loooot with these videos, thank u!!
Ahhhh I love different things about both of them. I dont think I could pick between them 😅 they are on the same tier for me just in different ways. It would be really cool to hear Changbin do multiple quintuplets as well. I think he's been playing around more with different vocal tones this year, which I'm also here for.
dude triplets make me want to quit music - i can't even fathom what a quintuplet would sound like. like, i can usually vibe it out but if i saw a quintuplet in a band piece, i think i would cry.
I feel like he keeps on evolving and coming out of left field to deliver something new musically seemingly every other month. Bounce back should've been the title track (might be an unpopular opinion but I also feel like get lit and Item hit harder than S-class as tracks though LALALALA was a great title track), and I don't understand why there are so many different versions of Walking on water, the Hip-hop version I get but I honestly hope it's not for chart manipulation purposes, though I don't know how charts operate in Korea. IMO there's a lot of in-fandom hate for Han, because he challenges a lot of peoples bias's for their position, from a technical standpoint, there's only one vocalist better than him, Seungmin, and if he's also a better rapper than CB, as well as getting love for being the one member who is consistently live and stable on stage, getting love for the few dance breaks he has and for Hanpop being so consistently good (even when the title tracks are iffy) and consistently charting with his 0T8 and Solo tracks without streaming efforts or promotions -and all this despite the fact that the man had literally only 3 solo promotions in the first 7 years and was securely chained in JYPE's basement, I'd be pissed too. Like dude is set up to be invisible and fail and yet still prevails on the back of his talent alone. It seems like ANY time he's praised, there's backhanded jokes made or another member just has to be brought up..
Could you expand on how you think Han is set up to be invisible and fail, more so than any other members, except maybe the visuals? IDK but your comment sounds like you think Han is the one and only superior musician in SKZ. I don't see the in-fandom hate for him more than for any other member. He's not a better rapper than Changbin but is considered the same level. I also think your comment about Han-pop being consistently good while title tracks aren't good is kind of disparaging to the works of 3racha and Versachoi because there's a reason those are title tracks. Every member thought they were the best song in that album for the role of title track. You do realise Han worked on the title tracks too right? It sounds like you're blaming Chan and Changbin for worsening the quality of those tracks whereas Han is a better composer?
@@djdjsjskjdnnxsjns the way i see it, releasing multiple versions of a song or album is like throwing a plate spaghetti at a wall and hoping some sticks. it's basically a streaming incentive, and with albums the pcs and stuff are an incentive to buy more albums, increasing the sales and chart performance.
it is indeed impressive. Not a rapper, newbie musician , but some music styles doing grouping / multiples of 3, like waltz , and 5 are more intuitive to create some groove/ syncopation then 4.
Damn I love Han! Also I’m studying music theory and learning to compose music so believe me, when I saw this I RAN. Thank you for explaining all this, I do appreciate a good lyrics but rhythm in rap is uncharted territory for me. I definitely should look into it more
ngl it's been disappointing as a Changbin stan to watch his raps fall further and further off, even after he acknowledged he used to rap better and wanted to get back to it. I can't fault him for being more focused on other aspects of keeping the group going, I'm sure it's tough now that they're at this level of fame, but I don't think we're ever getting that Changbin back. The fact that he didn't want to do a 3racha album said it all, in hindsight. Luckily we have Jisung still showing out. I've always agreed with the take that Jisung is technically "better" despite gravitating more towards Changbin's work. Hopefully we'll keep getting great raps from Jisung, even if the duo aspect isn't there anymore
If every single Changbin rap and every single Han rap were all made this year, and in a random order, then who would you put as the better rapper? (so basically taking recency and improvement/worsening out of the equation)?
can we do you listening to the entirety of their new album and you breaking down your favorite raps, I just wanna know your faves because theres one changbin did that genuinely caught my ear and I really enjoy it
Thank you for making this video and appreciating Han Jisung, he's one of the top rappers in kpop and he's one of my favourite too (top 2 of my favourites). I'm happy we got this verse and I love the song in general, my favourite part is this verse + I.N's part before it. But I don't think Han has done more than Changbin in general. Recently? Yes and it's even obvious. But in general, considering everything since pre-debut 3racha? No. I personally think they're on the same level. Matt what do you think about rap in Ultra by Changbin and Mark Lee's rap in his new song with Lee Youngji? I know you don't like Ultra as a song but what about the rap? Edit: Didn't Jongseob also do a quintuplet?
Yes, Jongseob & Yechan have both also done quintuplets ^^ But uh ... Ultra is probably changbin's best rap on the album.. still not where I want him to be nor really anything to talk about on it (although maybe I could find something if I gave it a few more listens?). Mark I'm 100% gonna cover in his own video OH MY GOD.
@carkpop oh yeah Yechan I forgot. Yeah I agree on the fact that it's still not where I want him to be but I appreciated the verse. Yesss video on Mark soon, thanks
Same. He hasn't been doing so well the past few years. Han overtook him by a huge amount recently. Whereas in past years it's been Han and Changbin roughly equal.
@@carkpop Han said (in their INTRO videos of the ALBUM ''HOP'' at 09:01) that the version we have was toned down because it was too aggressive for the audience, we could think it was more aggressive in the lyrics but maybe his flow was also toned down whether it was technically or in its length ? Who knows.
Not discrediting Changbin, both Changbin and Han are amazing rappers, but Han has always been better. Changbin stands out more to some because of his distinct tone and fast rapping but Han's versatility/ability is very underrated. There's a reason Han won against Changbin in their rap battle.
I think Changbin was doing much more intricate raps technique wise during the early to mid years of SKZ, but Han’s always been right there with him. Saying Han’s “always been better” is a bit of a sly towards Binnie cause they’ve always been nearly interchangeable at the very least.
I still think changbin is a slight bit better because of his diction, when I listen to stray kids I struggle to understand the syllables that come out han's mouth unlike with changbin where its very easy. I'm not fluent anymore but I was near close with my korean foreign exchange student friend and to me diction is extremely important because on paper something may be super technical but if you're slurring your words you're not doing whats written yknow
Hey, I know this is controversial at the moment. But could you please address the plagiarism allegations about Stray Kids' "Walking on Water"? Could you musically deconstruct the specific part in the song that is considered similar to Kim Taehyung's "Jump" verse? I would really appreciate a musician's perspective on it since there are so many people saying different things.
You don't need to musically deconstruct anything. Kpop fans (in every fandom) misuse the term "plagiarism". Music is built on being inspired by something, and twisting it into your own song. Hear a cool rhythm? Melody line? Chord progression? .. etc? You then use it in a song of your own with your own taste to it. You steal/borrow from artists who've come before you. It's beyond normal in Jazz, Metal, classical, etc ... "Plagiarism" is only an effective description when there's a blatant copy of a song. Like literally one for one copying everything about something. I think anyone who listens between Jump & WoW can hear the differences with a similar structure at that part. Did SKZ get inspired by that part of the song because they liked it? Did SKZ & BTS both get inspired for that sound from another song that we don't know about? Did they happen to sound similar by chance? Idk it could be any of those but "Plagiarism" is a grossly misused term amongst kpop stans.
@carkpop omg thank you for taking out the time to respond to my comment! I really appreciate your comment because it does ease my fears I had about all of this. I guess all the slander and hate was getting to me. As a dedicated STAYARMY since 2021, I didn't want to see another "plagiarism" allegation ruin the reputation of another hardworking and talented group. So thank you once again!

I love how you break down these raps from K-pop. It's because of you that I got into k-pop rapping! Love you man. Your content is super dope.
All I understand is that it’s one of the best songs ever! I love the sound of this song!
i have been waiting for this
Han jisung 🔥🔥
Han Jisung Ace
As a changbin biased,I agree.Han is amazing,he's getting better and better. This year we got changbin's worst verses: runners, night, walking on water, U,sayain.thanks jisung saved skz rap aspect this year ,also last year.
ACE JISUNG
For me Changbin and Han are amazing rappers and together their are like a bomb. Their are the best rappers of their generation 🔥
i agree what u said about han and changbin and i would do the same as well put han above cause han has a ability to rap fast and use different flows and even mix them and like u said he is mix of zico and mino i totally agree with that
YES I NEEDED A VIDEO ON THIS
I am always seated for Han Jisung Appreciation ❤🎉
Changbin is my favorite rapper overall, but Jisung's flows are so insane, I love them both so much. Jisung is so impressive
The best most talented rapper fr! What a genius 👏🔥🔥
both changbin and han got good flows and talented rappers for real but their recent songs...😭 didn't do them justice. nowadays their songs more like easy to sing for everyone. they focuses on that fair line more cuz stays were annoying bout it. it makes the jewels of the groups, what skz was once known for: hip hop, and strong raps and rappers kinda put aside??? 2018-2021 skz were peak of skz music for me. 22-24 where skz got more popular and got many akgaes that can't accept their faves got lesser lines 😭 they wanted fair lines all the time where it makes their music quality went down so much. coming from a stay since 2018 that stan skz bcz awaken changbin's rap, hellevator rap, the voices rap. mirror rap and many more.
Agree completely
Akgaes would riot if they were in songs as much as they should.
yes!!!!!! thank you for talking about this
Thank you for your explanation❤️
As someone who used to play drums in a marching band, i see triplets, quintuplet, septuplets, all those, sht almost EVERY.SINGLE.DAY. And yes, IT IS NOT FCKING EASY especially if u have the broken tuplets 😵😵💫
And this is exactly why i love raps in a song piece. I freaking appreciate all these rythms these rappers put out in a song. It's not just about the syllables count or the speed wtsv. It's these details that made it even more MINDBLOWING.
Just like percussions are the heartbeat of a music score, raps in a song piece are similar in a way ykno. AND DAMN I JUST LOVE IT 🔥
And thank YOU for explaining all of this to people out there musically, so they could appreciate the track even more than they already did.
If I could favorite your comment, I would 😢
@MewmeinFr. This comment says so much
Could you expand on how you think Han is set up to be invisible and fail, more so than any other members, except maybe the visuals? IDK but your comment sounds like you think Han is the one and only superior musician in SKZ. I don't see the in-fandom hate for him more than for any other member.
He's not a better rapper than Changbin but is considered the same level. I also think your comment about Han-pop being consistently good while title tracks aren't good is kind of disparaging to the works of 3racha and Versachoi because there's a reason those are title tracks. Every member thought they were the best song in that album for the role of title track. You do realise Han worked on the title tracks too right? It sounds like you're blaming Chan and Changbin for worsening the quality of those tracks whereas Han is a better composer?
there's a lot to unpack here but let me just ask in what was releasing more than 1 version of the song is chart manipulation? 😭
I definitely should look into it more
HAN JI SUNG glaze
I'm sat
I couldn't wait to see your review of this song!
I never realized the JYP in the Background 💀😭
we gotta get changbin and han to switch lines in bounce back, someone tell changbin to do it lol
me a musician and stay watching this video: ohhh this is my sh1t right here (also a changbin biased haha)
Happy reaction ❤❤❤
ngl it's been disappointing as a Changbin stan to watch his raps fall further and further off, even after he acknowledged he used to rap better and wanted to get back to it.
👏👏👏👏
If every single Changbin rap and every single Han rap were all made this year, and in a random order, then who would you put as the better rapper? (so basically taking recency and improvement/worsening out of the equation)?
I want to know his answer too
Hiiiii just wanted to say i love u and ur videos very muchhhhh
can we do you listening to the entirety of their new album and you breaking down your favorite raps, I just wanna know your faves because theres one changbin did that genuinely caught my ear and I really enjoy it
Thank you for making this video and appreciating Han Jisung, he's one of the top rappers in kpop and he's one of my favourite too (top 2 of my favourites).
Yes, Jongseob & Yechan have both also done quintuplets ^^
But uh ...
😳🔥
Every day I pray that Changbin will wake tf up and get on here and DELIVER. Because we know that he's capable of it
Same. He hasn't been doing so well the past few years. Han overtook him by a huge amount recently. Whereas in past years it's been Han and Changbin roughly equal.
Will they release the original version of “bounce back?”
Nobody know but i hope !
What's the "original" ver of Bounce Back?
@@carkpop Han said (in their INTRO videos of the ALBUM ''HOP'' at 09:01) that the version we have was toned down because it was too aggressive for the audience, we could think it was more aggressive in the lyrics but maybe his flow was also toned down whether it was technically or in its length ? Who knows.
Bigger Quintuplet King is Paddy, smh Matt you should give him credit
Lmao... "do a quintuplets, do a quintuplets" 🎵🎼
Really disagree, you cannot listen to the first years of Stray Kids and 3racha music and come out with that conclusion
Are you talking about the pre-debut rap battle? Han won because he is better at freestyle than Changbin and that was a free-style battle.
@machinelearner108 yes and imo the best rappers can freestyle
@mariapiccioni5974 I've been a fan since the beginning. Yes that is my conclusion
Funny😂. He pointed that out cos of pple like you.
