I love how nonchalant your vids are. You aren't in people's faces with false enthusiasm and stupid thumbnails. I hope your channel explodes in the best way.
Bought the game based on this video. It's pretty fun, but I've lost two runs so far to game breaking bugs. One when the map didn't spawn any connectors to the area that had the exit, and another when I tried to equip a wand I didn't have enough INT for, and lost the ability to equip any weapons at all. Based on Steam forums discussions of these issues, both have been in the game for years, meaning they're probably not going to be fixed anytime soon. Which is a shame, because when it works the game kicks ass.
Everytime I come to this channel...I am enjoying the video. I learn, I get excited, I get interested in new games I have never seen and your philosophy and tastes are great. THANK YOU.
Really enjoying the review format/humor. And I don't really understand youtube but I can say for sure that a quality over quantity mindset usually goes better for creators nowadays
I was watching this and thinking: Dam, thats a pretty good game. Then you said it was a solo devloped game and I though: Jesus fucking christ could not understand the respect I have for the solo devlopers
Thanks to you I've just bought this game, I'm liking the art style, the only down side to this game I can see before playing is I can't run through this with my friends... but don't worry I'd need to get those friends first.
All of the enemies in this game have a look on their face like they know they're going to die, but the player is going to get a stern talking to from HR afterward.
first person melee combat with conspicuously placed spike walls you can kick enemies into?, sounds like the perfect game for dark messiah addicts like me.
I would say it's more of an Ultima Underworld + Arkane Might & Magic successor, than a Daggerfall successor, although Arena and Daggerfall are ultimately derived from Ultima Underworld.
As an indie gamedev I gotta say 1.9k reviews makes an indie game very successful. Anything over 200 reviews is successful and anything over 500 is very successful. Most indie games never even get over 10 reviews is the sad reality. The real hidden gems are games that never show up on UA-cam lol
Take a shot every time he says "permanent player perks" For real tho, I had this game for some years and now I'm gonna reinstall it. PS check out Malevolence: Sword of Ahkranox. Would love to see your take on it (partly so I don't have to ever play it again)
I remember playing this game and grew to dislike the item shoot cause there wasnt a separate one for smithy parts Beat it but I wasn't particularly good
I already 100%ed this game but I wanted to say while I enjoyed it it does lack in content. after the first 10 levels aside from some traps and platforming the game is basically the same. also I want to criticize the crafting in the game while praising it. on the one hand it lets you be way more creative than most games but on the other hand after a while the upgrades all feel the same. oh look another gem that ads damage, who would have thunk it. Suggestions on how they might improve the game. 1. add more distinct areas and have them spawn randomly in infinite mode so your line up of expected level types are not always the same. 2. Make it so the placement of objects in crafting effects damage. like if I put a pointy thing on the tip I would like to see it get damage modifier for piercing but if I place it on the side give it a bleed modifier. of course this is just one example they could spice it up with other stuff.
i like it, but i wish someone would make a 3d dungeon delver in the same branch. i feel like the rotating 2d sprite was the worst part of daggerfalls graphics and would rather have 3d models with more intuitive hitboxes even if theyre low resolution. barony is a pretty cool game but has no overworld. grimrock is another honorable mention but has a semi-turnbased combat and grid based movement that i dont enjoy. im glad theyre making games like this still, but a modern 3d daggerfall would blow the barely existing competition away.
on steam deck, i keep getting this pop up in the middle of the screen everytime i do anything; gamepad on gamepad off gamepad on gamepad off gamepad on gamepad off gamepad on gamepad off gamepad on gamepad off gamepad on gamepad off gamepad on gamepad off gamepad on gamepad off gamepad on gamepad off so it's too annoying to play unfortunately
One correction I'd like to make is that this isn't underrated. The ratings are very positive on steam. As you mention this a hidden gem, not underrated.
Add one to my wishlist. Thanks. Where good games can get buried in the tidal wave of shit on Steam, it's UA-camrs like yourself who do the good work of digging through that pile of shit to unearth the gems and show them to the world.
I don't find this appealing, looks like medieval fantasy borderlands on first glance and I don't really want to continue watching anymore...and it's only 2 minutes in. Still gonna give it a like though, cause I'm sure you did well covering it.
Well, let's just wait a year or two until Ai advances to the point that it can completely remake daggerfall. To be modern. Then we'll revisit it. It will be like a much more advanced skyrim. By the way you're good a this. So many of your contemporaries are not, and they have hundreds of thousands, even millions of subs. You're far more coherent and relevant than their inane ramblings. I just calls em as I sees em.
isnt daggerfall a 100 - 200 hour long game for a single playthrough? saying someone made a roguelike that big is a very bold claim and most obviously clickbait
Wow that game seems like a real game with stuff in it.
It's definitely one of the games of all time.
@@MrSmilingDeath one of the rpgs of history
2 years later, but this video still convinced me to give the game a try
This and Barony are the go-tos for this RPGish roguelikes
I believe the way the characters behave is called billboard sprites where they're always facing the camera

The combat reminds me a lot of Dark Messiah, I'm definitely gonna try it!
2:52 almost every first person game from 1992 to 1997 use this technique
Played it when it came out, its a banger, and the spite based art style is beautiful, typically pretty cheap, too! I'd totally recommend it
Everytime I come to this channel...I am enjoying the video. I learn, I get excited, I get interested in new games I have never seen and your philosophy and tastes are great. THANK YOU.
Really enjoying the review format/humor. And I don't really understand youtube but I can say for sure that a quality over quantity mindset usually goes better for creators nowadays
Damn this is just what I need to relax after a day of Dark and Darker leaderboard grind. Nice relaxing pve dungeon crawler.
worth mentioning how underrated the channel is.
I’ve always wanted to see a forging system like this…
More than a few hours in and I'm loving slasher's keep! A+.
I can see this channel growing in the next year. Keep up the great work!
so glad i found this account. this is exactly the stuff i wanted to see. great content you’re gonna be big!
I was watching this and thinking: Dam, thats a pretty good game.
Then you said it was a solo devloped game and I though: Jesus fucking christ could not understand the respect I have for the solo devlopers
Thank you for sharing this game with us
Your fart just transitioned into a prime video ad. Simply amazing.
The artstyle kinda reminds me of those first person sections in hylics 2.
Underrated youtuber, does a review of the underrated game.. love your vids
Thanks to you I've just bought this game, I'm liking the art style, the only down side to this game I can see before playing is I can't run through this with my friends... but don't worry I'd need to get those friends first.
I do love any game that lets me knock enemies into clearly demarkated spike walls
All of the enemies in this game have a look on their face like they know they're going to die, but the player is going to get a stern talking to from HR afterward.
What makes it hard for people to get into IS the rogue light. Imagine if Daggerfall, was a rogue light.
This is exactly the kind of game I was looking for. That you
this has been sitting in my wishlist for ages
Excellent video! Thank you!
first person melee combat with conspicuously placed spike walls you can kick enemies into?, sounds like the perfect game for dark messiah addicts like me.
Damn, I think I’m gunna love this game , and this channel
Oh, this looks so up my alley, thank you!
I like the way you edit your vids and your voice is very relaxing to listen to.
hope you get more attention good work dude
Thanks for this man, I really needed something cool to play.
Farting in the mic was the most beautiful part of this whole video.
Loved this! Bought the game, thank you!
I would say it's more of an Ultima Underworld + Arkane Might & Magic successor, than a Daggerfall successor, although Arena and Daggerfall are ultimately derived from Ultima Underworld.
your jokes come out of nowhere and get me pretty good keep it up chief 😎
EZ purchase, thank you Sir.

Reminds me a lot of Dark Messiah. Neat.
five seconds in to the slasher's keep gameplay i went and bought the game :D
Welp it's in my library now thankyou
Wow this looks GREAT
NGL I looked up this game again right after watching that daggerfall video lmao...
Read like a goddamn book
Well, you managed to convince me mate.
Game bought, channel subbed.
cool vid my man
be seeing you on 100K anytime soon.
3:43 This is sounding just like Dark Messiah of Might and Magic lol
This is clearly more like King's Field than Daggerfall.
Furry hittler is a surprisingly decent visual novel tho
Take a shot every time he says "permanent player perks"
For real tho, I had this game for some years and now I'm gonna reinstall it.
PS check out Malevolence: Sword of Ahkranox. Would love to see your take on it (partly so I don't have to ever play it again)
Play Might and Magic 6. Slasher's Keep is the first game after years that reminds me it.
I remember playing this game and grew to dislike the item shoot cause there wasnt a separate one for smithy parts
Beat it but I wasn't particularly good
Hey man, THIS GAME IS GREAT. Where did you find this? Very interested in this game!!
I found about this hame after playing anither roguelite dungeon crawler.
Delver is the name
Reminds me of Void Bastards
Watched northernlion and malf play it when it came out
Looks like a game
2:32 IS THAT A WARPICK MADE WITH BANANAS?
4.89 on sale 💪
nice game...

how is this artstyle similar to daggerfall?
3:00 Doom did that too
Ye, this game is greate

Ok, but can you climb walls in this game?
Add one to my wishlist. Thanks.

Can you disable the loud ass "FACE!!!" that pops up every two seconds?
also FACE!
akin to its rougelites genre its replay value is finite.
If they wanted more players they really should add multiplayer support; That does so much for a game
I love you
I don't find this appealing, looks like medieval fantasy borderlands on first glance and I don't really want to continue watching anymore...and it's only 2 minutes in.

ua-cam.com/video/Liy5IIRKMck/v-deo.html welcome to a modernized 1993
haha too bad I have arachnophobia

General Sam ripoff. Pathetic
nice
