I feel like Persona 4 is centered on ‘acceptance of self,’ while Persona 5 is more focused on ‘changing yourself.’ Both necessary steps in Jung’s idea of Integration. Great video!

      Glad you liked it!
Yeah I love how the three main games compliment each other, despite how different they all are. They still rock as stand alone stories, but you get such a complete vision by playing them all.

P4: we have to make the most of the time we have before you go home, we already miss you so lets make plans to meet up again already
P3: too depressed to think of the future
P5: cleared of charges so suddenly go home after prison release

I played P4G after college and the game hit hard. It was incredibly uncanny with similarities to my hometown with a setting the exact time I'd be a Junior in highschool, so I had a disturbing level of immersion while living vicariously though the game.
However basically my entire highschool friend group broke up a few years agter graduation and fell out of contact then lost my college one after I moved 1500 miles away for work during COVID..The life lessons taught in the game came a bit too late for me, but sometimes I would set the control down and just reminisce. It gave me the courage to send out a few texts and get in contact with old friends, we all have lives now that take up time but when I go back to my home state I'm not going just to see family anymore

      Very Wholesome story.
I feel like everyone I talk to has their own story as to how the persona series affected them, it's always a treat to hear those stories.
P4g captures the essence of a good friend group with so much purity and accuracy. As I said in the video, I love how willing the game is to slow down and show off the simpler moments that define friendships, no other story I've ever experienced captured that feeling as closely as P4 did.

@@TheTalkingCorner I can point out a good reason for that I don't think you included. Most of the P4 characters (and I think probably the entire main cast) figured their shit out on their own or you acted as a catalyst for a process they were already going through, basically you were a friend not a therapist
You could honestly do an entire video comparing that aspect compared to many Social Links in P3 and P5 where the MC more times seemed to act like a therapist or the impetus of change

      @@hcook1023I like that!
Yeah a big issue I have with P3 and P5 is that the side characters seem to worship you; it just feels weird at times.
P4 they treat you like you're a good friend who they appreciate. You walk with them while they figure they're problems out, and do help them here and there, but fundamentally they work through their own arcs.

@@TheTalkingCorner I do like how even the villains of P3 comment on the BS persona power of Makoto
In P5 I think Morgana had a lot to do with it in the main cast by talking Ren up probably from the vague recollection of being a Velvet Room attendant and also teaching him how to be cool before meeting most the cast

I wish they soon make a persona 4 game which is years after golden and P4AU when the group is an adult... That would surely be full of nostalgia

@@southiesboxbreakphretrogaming kind of like how Golden ended or the ski trip
Honestly I would also like to see characters have some cross over between games more not just references in future games like P6, like after their journey is done their powers slowly fade but they either recognize signs of new Persona users/events then assist or even mentor.
Like the new group goes to a Risette concert and a new Meta event occurs. The fight is too hard (Reaper intro) for a new navigator so is overwhelmed then Rise enters behind them and takes over with more experience, or maybe even Yu or the rest of the team comes in too and takes the battle over right before the Shadow's final attack
........or they happen to get saved by Aigis the shadow killer robot I forgot about until finishing basically a writing prompt lol

@@hcook1023 yeah that's good too... They act as legacies...
A cool scenario would be Yu and Rise would get married and have a kid... Then this kid gets to be in the same situation as his dad but the kid doesn't know so he keeps it secret... Until they hit a snag because of being new to the persona thing then Yu bails out his kid in trouble in the other world then it will be clear to the kid that his parents is also a persona user who re-awaken their persona when his persona was awaken... Then they teach the new persona users the way around with the help of other persona users which they met long time ago
