    Is that Radek Stepanek in his camp?! No wonder he's playing incredibly well. Combine Stepanek's craftiness and consistency with Korda's natural power and movement, that's a dangerous combo!

    I hadn't heard of this guy until he played Djokovic a few weeks ago. Was really intrigued to see how he would fare against Med today. I thought he would lose, but he blew Med away; his power, accuracy and shot variety were all too much for Med today, although I think the slower pace of these Australian hard courts are not conducive to Med's best tennis. Korda's next game against Hurcatz will be very interesting too, as Hurcatz has beaten Med the last 2 games they played each other.

    Game plan was simple but very difficult to execute: bring Med in to break rhythm of a rally, lob when available, and if you have to rally to win a point, work short angles and take the ball early to take away time (and depth) from Med. Basically, utilize the short court rather than play long, because Med will win 9/10 rallies from the back of the court, but only about 5/10 from the front.

    • @hugokloeppel3596

      @rodrigoodonsalcedocisneros9266 Рік тому

      Seba doesn't have the type of game Stef or Nick has so he had to rely mostly on his consistency and court-awareness to execute the plan perfectly. Very impressed with him, he might be becoming a real threat.

    • @huntingreaction9919
      @huntingreaction9919 Рік тому

      your explanation is what is simple here.. and missing the point of Korda's game entirely.
      He hit the ball harder, with a better spread.. and with way more tenacity.. showing a willingness to "make the game" and win..
      The strength of Medvedev .. is being consistent.. and pushing a lot of balls back in the game, albeit with speed and relative accuracy. Korda was - and is - the better player.

    • @rodrigoodonsalcedocisneros9266

      @@lolollolol5654 You misunderstand, he does have skill, but he doesn't have the same playing style of them, which is the style that usually exposes Daniil more. Every Top 100 player has skill.
