The design language of the keyboard is supposed to be very old school so it's definitely not for everyone, while the newer boards like the QK series of boards apply to a much wider demographic of new people coming into the hobby for cheaper. p.s. what did u mean when u say spring options?

Such a high price for something that has such a generic sound imo, yes it looks good and I’m sure the fit and finish is spot on but it’s not standing out as a premium board.
The prices for this keyboard are just mind numbing. $470 for the polycarbonate version and $450 for the (what I assume) is the regular version, and finally $630 for the special editions. The pricing seems so random, like why is the PC version $20 more expensive? It seems like Cannon keys has a pricing method that ignores all the high end competitors/65% keyboards out there, and hinges solely on the sexual attraction between people's wallets and the keeb's aesthetic. Say what you will, but such money can buy some very unique looking keyboards that also sound very nice.
oh yes please bring back the glory days u get everything these days building keyboards aren't fun anymore without all the modding and fking around u used to do to make something just right
I dont know when in the history of time that the word "chimera" got shortened to a nickname for a chimpanzee....but ok guys its not chi like chicago..its pronounced KY-MARE-AH
I appreciate the approach they've chosen, yet don't understand their choices. Why use aluminium pcb AND absolutely no foam too? It's clacky as hell as expected. Seems that they've targeted the really specific part of the stiff keebs enthusiasts community or (which is more realistic imo) didn't really care and think about it.
Making it a bare kit should come with a bare price. I've spent whole ass paychecks on a keeb before but I see no reason for this one to be 450$+. No pcb cuts, no rgb, ok than it ought to cost as such. The case is nice but is it 450$ nice when Jris, Tofu, and Zoom are less than 300$ for case just as nice?
The Zoom is a cast case and won't look nearly as well made as this one. This keyboard may hail from the past but that case is well designed and would cost much more to manufacture than many custom board's cases. Nowadays gb keyboards make no sense at all value wise. But paying for looks is still a thing and this one would be difficult to sell as a more budget board.

Overpriced for this day and age. Yeah, maybe 5 years ago when you couldn't find a cnc aluminum keyboard anywhere but Canon Keys can't rest on their laurels forever.
I'll call this one... "emperor's new foams". So the custom keyboard community has finally reached peak audiophile levels, with reviewers now praising severe lack of options at very steep prices in the name of... tradition? purity? "OG"-shness?.. Well, whatever tales that would let them keep grabbing those insane margins of yesteryears in a fiercely competitive market that's otherwise going through a raging revolution. Sorry, Scott - that'll be my first disliked video of yours, and, I imagine, the point from which I won't be considering this channel's advice seriously anymore. I guess it's inevitable for creators to drift further and further once they get more established and more... "connected", and have less and less incentive to be objective and critical. But at least videos like these remind us, simple folks, of that fact of reality. Oh well.
not trying to nag, just telling you cause i assume you dont notice yourself: you use quite a few filler words most importantly "like". for example in the sentence ".. its a mythical animal from 'like' greek mythology." also a common use case is as replacement for "about" as in ".. took inspiration from 'like' seven different legendary keyboards." you dont use it as often as other content creators, but to me it still takes away from your otherwise very refined videos. i usually call it the american decease and unfortunately its spread all over the world. every now and then i tell people that i think might be interested in a more sophisticated language.
I love that you actually REVIEW the keyboard instead of just a video of you building and a sound test. I love hearing your thoughts!

Love the content for real. 👍
CannonKeys logo on the front really messing with the look unfortunately
oh yes please bring back the glory days u get everything these days building keyboards aren't fun anymore without all the modding and fking around u used to do to make something just right
I dont know when in the history of time that the word "chimera" got shortened to a nickname for a chimpanzee....but ok guys
its not chi like chicago..its pronounced KY-MARE-AH
Keyboard enthusiasts are funny people
nice
Thanks!
Looked like they were trying to keep it a bit nostalgic imo. Def leans towards the old school boards and not the newer stuff
It sounds a little too harsh for my taste, and I hate the mods but I'm sure it'll appeal to plenty of people.
450 and that’s all you get ? hell nah
Instead of chasing stupid bounce and dead and flat as a bag of turd sound, is it possible that Scott has finally seenn the light and the way of the OG? .....Nah.
This board sounds mediocre, a no foam Vega with an Aluminum plate but worse 😂
Cannonkeys pricing all their boards like this. Not a good value.
Def not a cheap one!
it's a rip off
I would love this if it were a 100-150 dollars cheaper
this should be $300 cheaper
You could have just left out "cheaper"
Ok. Too bad it isn’t, a budget board that cost 100-150 bucks will be perfect for you then.
@@figgletinkle I have a Mercury65(should be here soon) a bubble75 and a D65. so I dont exactly need a 'budget' board. I just wished it was cheaper. thats it.
@@shadydavey511 Are those not budget boards? Besides the Mercury
ACTUALLY FIRST, love u Scott
Congrats! You are first! Thanks for watching, I appreciate it!
Hi
Hello!
Sounds mediocre. This is literally how my Vega sounds, but worse.
Vega is Def special

Welcome! Early gang!
Better get used to these sorts of kits since you'll have to pivot to covering good keyboards once your newbie fanbase develops some taste.
First
Second :)
Not interested :)
no rgb 👎
sounds like a good way to get fired from your job in about one week. too loud. use haimu heartbeats with some foam.
Bait?
@@figgletinkle maybe. maybe not. maybe sometimes. maybe never. maybe always. maybe.
@@VioletJewel1729 I hope this is bait
@@figgletinkle I hate louder keyboards. Thocc is not fun to listen to at work. No one wants to listen to that.
