    We Are The World is another project, probably like LiveAid, that could possibly never come close to being matched in today's era...... And to see how much each of these artists appreciate the others' musical contributions is simply amazing

    watched this last night- such a cool story. I felt a little bad for Bob Dylan because some of the media was painting him as "grumpy" but in the documentary they were just showing he was uncomfortable because he was out of his element- he isn't a pop singer he was known mainly as a folk singer and lyricist and basically as a poet. He showed up though and did his part to contribute. I like how everyone was helping each other out and collaborating and just really did check their egos at the door for the greater good.

      In a way you would Have assumed that bob dylan would have had a more prominent role in this project similar to Lionel or Michael Jackson since like in the documentary he was the “Concerned musician”

      I love that Stevie knew immediately how to ingratiate Bob Dylan, by singing in his style on the piano. It was like a light bulb turned on in Bob and he was able to find his pocket.
      As a fellow introvert, I felt Bob’s pain…😩

      When I was a kid I used to make fun of the Bob Dylan part. And I would sing it in his style trying to be funny. And wouldn’t you know it, it became my favorite part! Just goes to show that everyone has a unique voice that’s all their own.

    The humble side of MJ: When everyone was enjoying awards at the AMA, MJ did not attended and prefer to be the first person in the recording room practicing the song. He did not cared of the awards he may get and here you are with Prince who has the high ego, he will only join WATW if he will have a guitar solo.
    Now that's why MJ is the King of Pop and the GOAT of Pop

    I clearly remember this back in the 80’s this was iconic. This bring back so many good
    memories I was 10 years old when is song came out, to see how everything was put together behind the scene is freakin amazing. Don’t know if we will get to witness anything amazing like this again the way the music industry is, but It will be nice to see it once again.

    Wow! I was a kid when We Are The World was made. This is already something dope that I never knew about it. Never had so many music superstars, from so many genres & generations, come together like this & work together before or since! Closest 2nd is when many of them came together to record "Voices That Care" to support the troops for the 1st Gulf War. That was dope too!

      That’s not accurate… Bandaid was done Nov. 1984, in England. Do they know it’s Christmas? Was done on their own time, started early in the morning and lasted all day..without fancy clothes and not when they just so happen to be together for the Grammys.
      Bob Geldolf is who started ALL of this!! Which inspired the USA one.
      USA for Africa was great but it wasn’t the first and certainly wasn’t the last.
      LiveAid was the summer live version of what Bandaid created.

    • @Ice62004
      @Ice62004 4 місяці тому +2

      @@lynngarcia4360Wth? Do you really think a project as big as WATW came about because it just so happened that the musicians were at the Grammys? Something like this takes a lot of time, energy and preparation. From a lot of people and not just the musicians. The only problem was the stars' busy schedules, which is why they worked all night to record it and some of them had to go to another gig straight away. Lionall hosted the AMAs (not Grammys) before the recording and some were even on tour in another state/country the day before. We're talking about stars who were at the peak of their careers. To date, no song has raised so much money for a charitable cause. You can't just downplay this beacause you want to praise something different ....

    Lindo demais! Eu só tinha visto com Michael Jackson! Parabéns a iniciativa de Harry Belafontes. E ao tímido, talentoso perfeccionista Michael Jackson e ao grandioso maestro Quincy Jones, que na minha opinião foram os maiores criadores dessa linda canção. Lionel colocou energia, e como sempre foi bom de papo, convenceu a muitos. Pela letra da música dá pra sacar que Michael Jackson foi o grande compositor, tudo na mesma linha tênue de suas composições. Senti falta de Quincy nos depoimentos desse documentário filme, pode ter sido pela idade avançada, mas era uma enorme expectativa vê-lo. Espero que já colhem vários depoimentos e imagens de Quincy para o filme biográfico de MJ, justamente devido a idade avançada. Obrigada Deus pelo talento de Quincy.
