Thank you for that insight. He was just brilliant as a comedic actor. I never dreamed I'd see Groucho play straightman so willingly. You could tell that he was appreciative of this brilliant young man's talent. His deadpan expressions are some of the most remarkable I've ever seen.
Pedro Gonzalez-Gonzalez was seen on this program by John Wayne who got him into movies and an entertainment career. He has a star on the Hollywood walk of fame.
Pedro was a bandmates Grandfather I got to meet him he was so cool, I'm so glad and honored I got to meet him, he had huge Halloween Parties in Venice/Mar Vista CA.
From wikipedia:"John Wayne saw his appearance on the program and cast him as comic relief in a number of movies including Rio Bravo, The High and the Mighty and Hellfighters. He also made guest appearances in shows such as Gunsmoke and Wanted: Dead or Alive, as well as the Jerry Lewis film, Hook, Line & Sinker. Wayne also had Burt Kennedy write a TV series for Gonzalez-Gonzales that was never made."
@4:11 "Mr. Gonzalez and his partner" Her name was "Miss Sally Nidelinger" It is puzzling as to why George Fenneman did not do her the courtesy of saying her name, too.
How interesting. Collins was brilliant in "Capote". He gave a totally mesmerizing performance with highly psycho-sexual nuances. I don't know if we can credit him or brilliant directing, but it was as perfect a portrayal as could be done for the character as we now understand him.
I live in San Antonio and I showed this video to my father. He remembers seeing Mr. Gonzalez at the Alameda theater when he was younger. It brought back good memories of his youth. Can you tell me where Mr. Gonzalez is buried and if the family still has ties to San Antonio. Thanks!
The responses are completely contrived, in my estimation! EVERYONE at that time knew "Sodom and Gomorrah" were the "wicked cities" destroyed for their behavior! Remember - kids read the Bible in school in those days, and often went to Sunday school...
Pedro was illiterate so there is a slight chance he did not know. Not everyone is tied to the Christian religion. But of course this show was a spoof on game shows…..it wasn’t strictly a game show.
His name is Ramiro. But his real name is Pedro. The name Ramiro was a joke to confuse people. I know this because my grandma Catalina Gonzalez Barrera was (tia) aunt. I hope Cliffton Gonzalez Conners Jr. reads this. My daddy was his first cousin. I met Pedro when I was about 6 or 7 yrs old in Abilene,Texas.🌟😄🌹

It's interesting to see how Groucho is somewhat in awe of him.
Great Show...Lots of Laughs with Groucho!

Oh my gosh, isn’t The Duke supposed to be a minority hating racist??? (That’s sarcasm.)
WONDERFUL
I now know who the character "Pedro" in the movie Napolean Dynamite was based on.
Wow. Yes
Brilliantly funny! I love it. 😂shame it was an easy question to answer!
I have to buy beans! Classic1
Tempi davvero mitici, mai vissuti ma ne ho nostalgia...
Saw him on a rerun of I Dream of Genie recently.
Hilarious! Can't believe neither of them knew Gomorrah, however.
That was such an easy question! SMH🙄
Hell of a dancer.
Third billing out of two people…haha😂
That 1953 Desoto was a beautiful car
My grandfather had one. (I'm 61 and I still have the keys)
Hilarious
So funny!
It is hard to imagine that these two from the 50's had not heard of Sodom and Gomorrah.
@manugin20 He died at the age of 80 in 2006 and he was living in Culver City California. His grandson is the famous actor Clifton Collins, Jr.
Famous? 🤔
@@leslieackerman4189 yeah, everbody knows him.
He was Ramiro, actually. (But you can call him Pedro). ;) :P :D
@4:11 "Mr. Gonzalez and his partner"
Her name was "Miss Sally Nidelinger"
It is puzzling as to why George Fenneman did not do her the courtesy of saying her name, too.
He said her name when they came on stage originally.
Wonder whatever became of Sally?
The Mexican Jerry Lewis. Amazing timing!
Gonzales used to date my mother.. No joke my father would make fun her when he was in a John Wayne movie.. My family is from San Antonio TX .
His grandson is an actor named Clifton Collins Jr.
what a shame, it should have been Rodriguez GGGG
bliss post and thank you.
magic

Wish I had seen this before.
I stand corrected, it's Pedro Gonzalez Gonzalez, I was thinking about jose jose Gonzalez,
I live in San Antonio and I showed this video to my father. He remembers seeing Mr. Gonzalez at the Alameda theater when he was younger. It brought back good memories of his youth. Can you tell me where Mr. Gonzalez is buried and if the family still has ties to San Antonio. Thanks!
very entertaining.
2:11 se le salió el acento
Groucho didn't talk to the young woman at all. Are we sure Groucho didn't know who Pedro was ? He was in films and on radio before.
Even George introduced them as Mr.Gonzales and his partner. I feel bad for her. Practically ignored.
Supposedly Groucho knew him from his old vaudeville days.
Laugh myself to sleep
Gonzalez Gonzalez ended updoing parts in several movies.
Thanks to John Wayne.
@@tommytruth7595 Who said he was the funniest comedian since Chaplin
