I stopped eating at buffets years ago. There is a place in my hometown that always does well on their inspections but I still won't eat off the buffet. When I go in I order off the menu. I want my food prepared for me. I don't want to get it from a trough.

And my food has not been festering on a steam tray, possibly for hours, with dozens of people talking, and potentially coughing, sneezing over it. That's a HUGE difference.

He just cross contaminated two different food items with allergens. I've also seen customers drop food on the floor, pick it up, put it back on the serving counter and take a new one, and they would have gotten away with it if I hadn't spotted them, told them off and then had to remove the entire tray of food to throw away. At least in a good well organised and clean kitchen you can be sure that the staff know what they're doing and you don't have an idiot customer next to you licking the ladles or swapping tongs between the different dishes.
The Asian culture evidently has no moral code about lying and cheating people. If you don't believe it, watch Border Security shows and see how many of them blatantly lie about not having food in their luggage, then when the agent opens it, it contains nothing BUT food. This restaurant has severely crossed the line so much in fact, that the owners of this restaurant could've lost their lease and have their license revoked.
Why do people even go there? Isn't it required (by law) that the violation report MUST be visible as you enter the place? It is where I live (Denmark) and you can get some pretty hefty fines if the report is not visible. Granted, the town I lived in some years ago was rather small (pop. 6500) so word got around really fast. A buffet place had severe problems with the hygene and within 2 days there were no customers. The owner tried everything to get people in....well, except cleaning of course. He got one bad report after another, and in the end he had so much debt that he burned the place down and tried to claim insurance money from it. He got busted (surveillance showed him walking into the restaurant with two cans of petrol) and spent several years in prison.

It's a Chinese owned buffet, with all Chinese employees and it was always among the top 5 restaurants in our county. The food, cleanliness, and service were so good that you would see members of the Food and Health Safety eating there almost daily, including some from the neighboring county. In al the years that I ate there, they were only fined once and that was because the trash pickup was delayed a couple of hours due to a traffic incident.

All restaurants in the United States have to ride by health code and laws and rules and if they don't they should not just find them they should close them down anywhere from one year to 10 years and they cannot open another if another restaurant of any kind if they're prosecuted more than twice anywhere in the United States it doesn't matter how much money they have find them the first time and make them and haven't re-inspected second time find them big third time close it down and they cannot open a restaurant or bar or any facility in the United States for 10 years
