Nice looking shop! I'm only about 90mi north of you in Beemer NE. I have 2 shopsmiths and love them both!

Good video. If you decide to update video in the future, would be nice if you showed a full demonstration of drilling including setting the depth of the hole. Just a friendly suggestion from South Carolina. Noticed you have the Generation 2 upgrade. After using do you feel upgrade makes that much difference. That could also be a demo for you. Ellis

Great video. Is it worth buying the blank SS insert or can I just use hardboard to make a zero clearance insert?

I like the Shopsmith one because it already has the space in it for the upper saw guard with riving knife. If you make your own, then you will have to rout a space in order to still use the upper saw guard with riving knife.

There's a UA-cam channel with Michael Young called Today's Shopsmith and he has a video about a year old where he shows how to make your own zero clearance insert with the riving knife slot. I made a couple and they work real good. Mike Young is who I bought my Shopsmith through in 2016 after i saw a demo at Lowes.
