This trailer is so well made it is scary. If you know the book well enough you will notice that it follows the story in the book almost perfectly. Sir, I salute you for making so good trailer!!!!
if there is ever an official adaptation the trailers NEED to start with Feanor's speech like this one does. It was chillingly good. thank you so much!!!
Infinity times better than the Amazon trailer. Although cut together from other fantasy movies, I guess it's natural that you're going to be able to piece together shots that look like they came straight from The Silmarillion. Just excellent work. I came across this video years ago and was hoping someone would even attempt to adapt any part of The Silmarillion. And when Amazon made the announcement that they were, I was shocked and excited. But after following the production and seeing what it's become, it makes me appreciate something as simple as this fan trailer so much more.

Excellent! This is the best Tolkien video I have yet found on UA-cam. It is completely unlike most fan-made videos. Unfortunately most of them show only fast-paced battle which is not even what The Silmarillion is mostly about. By watching this video you get to catch glimpses of the characters and story as well as battle scene.
I got tears in my eyes when I saw Finrod in the dungeon and the fall of Gondolin! As said before every scene is so recognisable, excellent job, thanks for making it!
The lengths you went to find appropriate movie footage to fit the scenes is incredible. You truly have a skilled eye for editing and a great ear for the music. This is *easily* among the two or three best fan made videos I've ever seen....outstanding video....I have great respect for your technical abilities as well as your interpretation of the book! Wonderful job!!!
This was so incredible!!! i hate most fan videos because they are so lo rent but i got frwaking goose bumps when i saw Valimar and tge eagle of Manwe flying through the ring of doom and then a "far green country under a swift sunrise" this is great!
Thank you for making this incredible trailer!! I have watched it countless times. Just wanted to add my comment here among many others to let you know I love it! This is quite possibly the best Silmarillion fan-made trailer I've seen here on UA-cam. Most others use generic Voice-over lines from movies scattered throughout and random fast-paced scenes which would not distinguish it from any other random medieval action movie out there. Yours actually has substance - and the scenes, even though short, follow along crucial parts of the book incredibly well! I can see points of the story flashing before my eyes while watching it.
Holy ---- that was fantastic! I can actually pinpoint specific events, and all the transitions seem really natural, and you did an amazing job of keeping the tone and the color palettes connected in ways that actually made it feel like all one piece of footage, and just... wow. Stunning
The Silmarillion were three jewels that were valued by the Elves. The story is about the why the war was fought and why and how the Elves ended up in Middle Earth.
Your choice of visuals and music was stunning. The quoting of Fëanor while making weapons was a good start. The rest of the video I just kept imagining who was who. Luthien, Beren, Finrod, etc. I was truly moved. Thanks for this video.
I fervently hope that Disney will never be in the position to lay hands on one of Tolkien's stories. Any effort by Disney to make them into a film would mean making mock of them, as Disney turns anything into silly.
Thankfully Tolkien stated in his will that Disney is never to have his work, he hated how dwarves were portrayed in Snow White and he too felt that Disney was disrespectful and silly of a race that had nobility and valor and courage and a deep rich history of their own. So sleep well Robert, Disney will never have Middle-Earth. Just look it up, the words that JRR uses to express his dislike of Disney is quite droll and wonderful.
This is absolutely amazing. You found so many moments that matched scenes from the book almost perfectly! That must've taken a lot of time. :) I only hope we can have a real Silmarillion TV series one day.

It's a shame because Silmarillion cannot become a movie, it's more of a history book for Middle-Earth and if a film is made it will not be true to the full lore of this universe.
Very well done! An excellent piece of work. It must have taken a great deal of time to piece all of those disparate film clips together. Having the audio book narration at the beginning was brilliant. Unfortunately a big studio adaptation of The Silmarillion would be an atrocity as there would be no original dialogue used, it would end up being a ridiculous action-adventure movie like the garbage jackson made of Tolkien's later works.
This was breathtaking, a job well done. While I would love to see this on there big screen no one would be able to do it right. The book is simply to big, and filled with to much history and lore and wonder. Cutting any one part out would take away from the next story. I wold also add that if they made a movie just surrounding the life of Elrond I might freak out. That one character has so much awesome angsty back story.
Very nicely put together. It does make for an inspiring hint of what could be. But how to do THE SILMARILLION for real? Either a series of movies to cover as much of the material as possible, or a documentary style look at the book as history?
Indeed Feanor's words are a little nonchalant, he was half crazy at the time and hearing his fierce words his listeners was stirred into madness. But I think it's wonderful to start a movie with Feanor's speech! Also, until now I never realized the fall of Numenor would make such an eye-candy! This is indeed great work. Congrats!
Maybe you Could put The stuff in a Movie but that would be like 10 Movies with just The Important stuff. They should make a series of it , like WD or GoT. In The 2020s. I Hope one day they put it out.
Except for some characters from the movie, like Arwen played by Liv Tyler or Galadriel portrayed by Cate Blanchett. I wish to remember them with their faces becuz they were perfect for the elf roles.
So good! It makes me want to read the Silmarillion again. You did an amazing job with the visuals and picking out the right music. Bravo on a job well done!
I wish I had enough time to answer to all of you, nice people! :) Thank you for watching and commenting my video! P.S. Will someone plz make the Spanish subtitles for Alexandra Bape (and all who needs)? Because you know... Fёanor, speaking Spanish, is my personal headcanon, and there's a real chance to give his voice some virtual passion. ;)
dudefrombelgium I make my videos alone, with all means I have on my hands. As for any perspectives, well, I'm afraid these will be limited to my youtube channel.
+Estoy Depasso The Music of the Ainur, the first part of the story of the Silmarillion...notice the young man and the sword and then he is playing the Lyre? (it's a small harp). Will be quite the movie, that's for sure. Great story.
There is so much history in this trailer. At 3:40 was that Tuor on his way to Gondolin? Then the swans at Vinyanmar? The destruction of Gondolin was clear. The destruction of Numenor? The ships of the Faithful for sure. Was Earendil in there?
Thought this was well done. It can give the Tolkien fan base some images to go along with the written words. This wasn't possible when the books were written and much about the earlier ages is a mystery to all. This can only help us imagine. Thank you.
Since I've seen very few of the source films, it really looked as if it were an actual trailer to a movie I haven't seen yet. A very good edit, could use more dialogue, if you could get volunteer voice actors to say sound bites of dialogue based on the book at key moments, I think it would be even more awesome.
Its a long shot, but if Disney buys this we will see this its majesty. Don't say never. Lucasfilm and Marvel have great futures ahead of them in terms of cinematic staying power. Christopher Tolkien, don't hold this back from someone doing it justice.
(cont.)through the battle of angmar where large parties of dwarves battle balrogs. and to have sauron in his maiar form convince the elve smiths to forge the rings. then to the actual battle where the ring is lost and fall of gil galad. it would be epic even in cg or anime. the silmarillion is just basically a quick overview of all these events, but to have the detail and intensity of weta on each would be great.(i know i left out alot and sorry for the misspellings)couldnt be done at this time
One movie you didn't mention in your credits but you used a short shot of a scene at 3:34 is the Princess Bride. I would notice the rodents of unusual size fire swamp scene any where. lol
Oh well done!. Finrod was in there wasn't he? The editing was great. Great choices in movie clips. I could tell what most of those was supposed to refer to. *winkwink* Can you do something special for Turin?

Man, good editing and a lot of movies that depict nicely some of the silmarillion scenes. Well done.
Thank you. :)

I haven't been here for a very long time... and OMG, so many nice comments! THANK YOU so much, guys!!! You're too kind. :)
Captures the essence of the book very well, you can see moments and associate with characters from the book
I love Feanor's speech from the audiobook!
The lengths you went to find appropriate movie footage to fit the scenes is incredible. You truly have a skilled eye for editing and a great ear for the music. Yes Disney just makes crap and rips off artist , writers and actors. This is worse thing that could happen to Tolkien work
Yeah, Disney is the worst thing that can happen to Middle Earth!!
Absolutely awesome! I recognized nearly every scene, great work man!
Well done! I got so exciteeeeeed! :'( I wish we can watch the real trailer of Silmarillion one day...
Мой самый любимый ролик по Толкину
Благодарю!
I'm crying. This movie was so beautiful!
Goddamn it, Feanor.
This is absolutely amazing. You found so many moments that matched scenes from the book almost perfectly! That must've taken a lot of time. :) I only hope we can have a real Silmarillion TV series one day.

There's something about the concepts of cinema and The Silmarillion wedded together that I find tremendously exciting. Nice effort.
This is brilliant! So much hard work has been put into making this! Bravo!!!
this could be the real trailer...... amazing
Well done this is better than anything Peter Jackson could/would make.
Well done. I think I follow nearly all the allusions to the book, not an easy thing to put together. Good selection of visuals
It's a shame because Silmarillion cannot become a movie, it's more of a history book for Middle-Earth and if a film is made it will not be true to the full lore of this universe.
better a long tv series with at least 4 seasons
@@polrosario3707 not enough material. Animated shorts would be the best route.
This is wonderful and beautiful!

dudefrombelgium I make my videos alone, with all means I have on my hands. As for any perspectives, well, I'm afraid these will be limited to my youtube channel.
03:54 what is that movie??
Estoy Depasso Dragon Dynasty (2006), as far as I remember. It's been a while.

not to mention the black sword and the death of Túrin Turambar
Would make an awesome trailer
I didnt imagine Feanor's speech to the Noldor so calm but whatever
that is from an audio book. It used to be on UA-cam (it might still be)
what about the age of the lamps and the age of the trees?
Oh man... Ulmo rose from the sea....
This is so incredible.
Thought this was well done. It can give the Tolkien fan base some images to go along with the written words. This wasn't possible when the books were written and much about the earlier ages is a mystery to all. This can only help us imagine. Thank you.
Is it okay to immediately think of certain characters or events from The Silmarillion upon seeing some clips?
Thanks. Very inspiring, what an amazing piece.
Wow. This is truly beautiful. I WISH THIS WERE REAL!!!

You did an excellent job with those clips. Really well done.
But THIS IS AMAZING. You made this from all this- it works... *goes into fangirl swoon*
This is amazing I would totally trust these guys to make a great movie out of this

that ending is fuckin majestic holY SHIT
This is Narnia.
Oh well done!. Finrod was in there wasn't he? The editing was great. Great choices in movie clips. I could tell what most of those was supposed to refer to. *winkwink* Can you do something special for Turin?
I would watch this!
hm sadly this is the only book i gues, what is not posible to make a film about that...
Not without being more than 25 parts.
Wonderful!
Appreciate and admire your Tolkien passion. Thank you for sharing with us.
Stunning. I find this marvelous and shockingly moving - Bravo!
Well done!!!!
wow great job. could u imagine if the silmarillion was to be made? it would be like 9 movies long, from the creation and disharmony of melkor and have him battling with tulkas, to the 3 families of great elves and decendents. the darkness of the first age and killing of the 2 trees. to feanor forging and losing the silmirillis. beren and luthian recovering the one in melkors crown and the great wearwolf. through the fall of gondolin and numenor and melkor being banished to the void and on
Made me cry. Really nice.
Amazing work!!! And the theme is stunning!!
What is the music? I didn't find it in any of John Dreamer's collection and the OST of the movie "Kingdom of Heaven". I love it!
definitely. great editing and music!
AMAZING !!
greets from Germany
holy crap this is so well done
Really nice work! You used a couple of clips from "The Princess Bride", though, and didn't credit the movie. At 1:53 (approaching the Cliffs of Insanity) and 3:34 (Wesley fighting an ROUS).
2:57 Could someone tell me what movie is that scene from?
Just wonderful!!
Magnificent Job!
Ну у твоего виде популярность просто зашкаливает:)
Жаль, что на РингКоне не поучавствовала...
jesus!!! are you for real??? this was stupendous. Plz Plz Plz I need more.
It is a film full assembly, not the Silmarillion
If it is made into a movie, it would have to be done over the course of several films. Not for profit's sake, but for the sheer span of years it entails. You could make a whole movie out of nearly every chapter with some dialog and mundane scenes being written in here and there. Still, I would go see every one. Love the Silmarillion. If it was done right with a proper budget it would be even more epic than the Lord of the Rings movies.
Beautiful work! If they make a movie (or a series of movies) I'd love to see the trip of Eärendil, and the match between Morgoth and Fingolfin... Anyway, I believe is too much material for just one movie...
Oh my Eru! I loved it...AMAZING!
Great work guys!
Oh, follow up. I know Christopher Tolkien didn't write the Histories and only edited the Silmarillion. I just think he comments too much. Takes away from the momentum of the story. And yes, God bless the man for getting the Silmarillion to us in the first place. Don't wanna start no UA-cam brawl here.
I almost cried when I saw Maglor! Was that a glimpse of Andreth and Aegnor kissing, or Beren and Luthien? (because the maiden was golden-haired...)
MAGNIFICENT
More heroic Music and it would be more than perfect :D Well done I am very impressed! Love that!
Perfectly put.
This is truly superb.
