Absolutely fantastic work on the camper and on the video series. Seeing the effort that goes into your camper makes the price for the AluCab seem more reasonable. Keep up the great work. Looking forward to new videos of yours.
Awesome design, craftsmanship, skills, and attention to details. I love how you explained things and the thoughts behind them. 👍 I just can't believe I watched the whole series in one sitting.. And I don't even have any plan whatsoever of making a camper! 😲🫨😁
Beautiful job man. Stepped away for a few weeks and this is a pretty major update. Love your attention to detail both mechanically and aesthetically. Well done. I didn’t miss the sewing video did I?! I dabble in MYOG (make your own fear) and have mostly taught myself so looking forward to whatever tips you’ve learned or resources you’ve found that were helpful especially with the structural sort of sewing jobs.
Ran about 1200! He said it did come out on the higher end of his quote so it may be more/less somewhere else. Regardless he did a fantastic job. It was worth it.
When I was building the micro camper before this I had thought about doing a pop top! Decided against it with the work it would have added. In the end for me personally, I do not like having to tow anything. Ironic I know with having built 3 trailers 😂
Best DIY camper build I’ve found on UA-cam! Awesome attention to detail and it looks awesome. Considering doing my own build vs buying a shell, and was wondering if you could share a cost estimate on your build?
As of right now not worried about it! If I were to add it I’d do a fabric style with Velcro that would stick to the carpet panels to make it easy to remove if I wanted!
You’ll definitely want to insulate this whole thing! In the summer months the sun beating down on the black metal camper will make it 10 degrees hotter inside easily
@@mauriciogonzalez6302 yeah I don’t know what climate he lives in but here in Australia black truck canopies get so hot inside and it makes it hard work for your 12v system. Not good for your dual battery setup and fridge if you have one
Not sure what happened to my last comment mcmaster is where i got all my fasteners when i did my extruded aluminum roof rack on my LX470. Check them out
I talk about this in the video and what I planned to do to address it. Happy to report I have none of those issues! (This video was recorded awhile back, the camper has been done for a bit now)

Thank you! Yes it’s definitely a lot of effort. Although I could probably built a second one in a bout half the time now that I have it figured out!😂
Always great to see the progress you’ve made with this!
It's looking GREAT!! Awesome job as usual!
Thanks so much man!
Great job! This is Turing out top notch. The finish looks great and looks very functional. Thanks for sharing with us
Thank you! I’m very happy with it.
More! More! More! Great project my guy.
Thank you!! Editing as fast as time allows me 😂
Well done John. Love the attention to detail and build quality.
Thank you Mike!

Making awesome progress. That camper is super nice🤙
Thanks Bryan!!
Been waiting for the this installment
Sorry for the delay I’m finally catching up haha. Have been so busy
Looks great!
Thanks!

Thank you! Sewing video is next!! Currently editing it in my spare time. (The little I have 😅)
Super clean, can't wait to see what that powder coat costs

@@Adv4x4 that's not bad!
You should implement this concepts into a pull behind, similar to the last one you built BUT the top pops up. This would be a game changer.
When I was building the micro camper before this I had thought about doing a pop top! Decided against it with the work it would have added.
In the end for me personally, I do not like having to tow anything.
Ironic I know with having built 3 trailers 😂
Very well thought out. But I would have used a latching system with a lock than can be operated from inside & out
Unfortunately not an option on a door with such a heavy weight! That latch needed to be beefy!

Why no insulation under the lid?
As of right now not worried about it! If I were to add it I’d do a fabric style with Velcro that would stick to the carpet panels to make it easy to remove if I wanted!
@Adv4x4 spray it with lizard skin. Some insulation would still make a big difference
You’ll definitely want to insulate this whole thing! In the summer months the sun beating down on the black metal camper will make it 10 degrees hotter inside easily
@@AlwaysSearching.. that’s what I was thinking. I’m mean, this thing is black. It will get hot.

Looks outstanding. Great job. Hopefully, I'll see you at rttr and can check it out.
Unfortunately not gonna make it to that one this year man!
What is your wheel & tire combo? Loving the camper build!
What was the total price for this build if you don’t mind ? And total hours ?
First
Looks sexy!. Keep up the great work and content.
Thank you!

I see water and dust intrusion in your future ... front of bed.. bed caps .and ..cubbies .... are all known problem areas
I talk about this in the video and what I planned to do to address it. Happy to report I have none of those issues! (This video was recorded awhile back, the camper has been done for a bit now)
@@Adv4x4 right on .. the bed panel is t6 3mm ? I need to convert my wedge camper to a Murphy bed sleeping platform .
Yessir 3mm ACM board!
Cheap cheap cheap Styrofoam
No pink foam that could had being glue ... inside top and bottom.
If you are desired solar 🥵 🥵 🥵 🥵 Goodluck with that.
Cheap cheap cheap Styrofoam
No pink found that could had being glue ... inside top and bottom
The most uncomfortable metal box ever built with zero insulation 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎👎
You should build a better one and make a video series on it to show us!!
