Thanks for highlighting this product. I've seen a number of reviews for travel tripods that are (probably) more feature-rich, but this one is more in my desired price range. With the ability to unscrew the head and pack elsewhere, I think that would also make the tripod far more portable. I'll have to check it out further!
Great quality video. Brilliant recommendation and found it super cheap here in Australia at $140AUD Its funny because I was actually looking for a quality but not stupidly expensive tripod to attach to the bottom of my peak design sling when out with my M50. Also, appreciate the M50 videos in 2023 its still a banging camera !
I bought this tripod a while ago and couldn't believe that there was nothing online about it. I actually bought the Peak Design travel tripod before this and sent it back - I prefer this one as it's lighter and can pan, not to mention the price!
This tripod is the worst piece of garbage I’ve ever tried. I could easily move the ballhead around with relatively little effort when fully locked. Returned it immediately. You get what you pay for has never been more true. I can’t believe I was reaaly considering to replace my PD, which already is not providing enough stability with this toy after watching several UA-cam influencers praising it for no reason. It might be “good enough” to create 10min video but is absolutely not capable for seriuos photography. I didn’t even bother putting my camera onto it after my first impression, it got sent back the same day.
The Peak Design tripod is so much more expensive which is why this is a great budget option! I've never had an issue with this tripod, so I'm guessing your tripod must have had a defect. Also I'm not an influencer and I'm not getting paid to praise this tripod I just genuinely like it. ✌️
@@AndrewKnepper despite being more expensive the PD does not perform well. It’s built quality is ok (a lot better than the SmallRig) but not 600 $ level. During a time period of approx. one hour I sometimes had a shift of up to 16 pixels between the first and the last capture. That’s unaccaptable and the reason why I’m looking for alternatives. I’m assuming the reason for this poor performance is the upside down design of the already pretty unstable ballhead combined with the fact that PD don’t have a lot of experience with manufacturing tripods so I would expect a conventional ballhead design that’s been around for centuries to work well on a tripod from a manufacturer with a lot of experience with camera accessories. But the quality of those specific SmallRig tripods does not match at all what I’m used to from them otherwise. It’s rather at a 30-50 $ level than anything above that. Apart from the loose ballhead one of the plastic locking clamps did not close properly when the legs were collapsed.
I'm sold sir. Tomorrow ordering, thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching! Hope you enjoy the tripod!

Exactly! I think it's very underrated! Thanks for you insite in comparison to the Peak Design one!
Hi there, grear video. How has the tripod held up to today?
Still going strong!
@@AndrewKnepper nice one! Do you think it's worth going for the AP-02 version with the centre column?
Sold!
Great travel tripod just wish it could reach just a few more inches in height. All in all Highly Recommended
🙌🙌🙌
Hi. I wanted to know your review about Sigma 17-50mm 2.8 for APSC Nikon. Is it best as compared to Kit lens and Tamron?
I never used that lens, but it's a Sigma and I have loved every Sigma lens that I've used!
Great review, does it have a hook to hang a bag?
There's no hook on it but if you have straps on your bag it will hold the tripod well since it's slim!
Hi! May I know the length after removing the ballhead? Thanks!
Hey, the tripod without the ballhead is 17" long. Thanks for watching!
Shame this cannot be ordered anymore :(
Yes but it does appear the updated version is mostly the same!
@@AndrewKnepper which updated version? AP-02?
