  • Brain booster shake with nuts and fruits or berries
    This recipe is a personal favourite and works like charm.
    Serve 2 glass
    2 tablespoon cashew
    1 tablespoons almonds
    2 tablespoons walnut
    1 piece of jaggery or any other sweetner
    1 tablespoon raisin
    2 ½ cup chilled milk
    Some ice to serve
    More add ins
    1 teaspoon flax seed powder or chia seed
    1 teaspoon fox seeds powder (makhana)
    ½ cup any fruit of choice like strawberry, blue berry, banana, dates)
    Mix together and blend for 3-4 minutes until smooth. Adjust sweetness and thickness if necessary.
    Tip:
    Jaggery and cashew make nutty drink with milk. Start your kids with it to develop flavor. Then gradually add more nutrients over weeks as per his nutritional requirement. Flax seed doesn’t taste as great but it has omega 3 which is great for brain. Beside the high fibre of flax seeds also help with constipation which can also cause irritation in mood of kids.
    Don’t leave shake for long as flax seed tend to thicken in gel and shake will thicken a bit.
    I have tried adding dates, banana and strawberry in this shake. Chikoo is also a good option.
    If giving to children under five, start with fewer ingredients for easy digestion. I don’t soak almond and keep it simple but you can soak almond and cashew for overnight that’ll will be great as soaking make nutrients easily available for absorption.
