Thank you so much for this video!! I’ve been looking for the best solution to get my newer M audio oxygen (no standard midi output) to give both midi signal and audio out for WEEKS And I finally stumbled upon this !!!! Saw all your videos with usb hubs and all, but this looks like the cleanest way for me. Just one question please. ... by connecting this Bluetooth adapter to the m audio, it is powering the m audio right? (Because my m audio doesn’t have a DC power supply function) ..(and I can’t tell if you have power running to your m audio in this video).. thanks again!!! If that’s the case, I will finally be able to just send the audio out through the usb-c port on my iPhone!
You can also buy a usb c to usb port with 3 or 4 ports and in one of the port put a usb to 3.5mm for audio & and put midi controller in another port. It’s pretty inexpensive. Cheaper than the Bluetooth midi and gets the same thing done. When I don’t want to power up iConnectaudio4+, I use this setup with headphones going into the usb to 3.5mm
Just when I thought I had reviewed all of the Bluetooth Midi devices on the market this one pops up! This is a great solution for those that have regular USB midi keyboards with no 5-pin midi sockets and it's only $49! Half the price of the Puc+! Get It Here: amzn.to/2TcE5Gs
I have this for a while, and I am still looking a good reason to keep it. As is shown in your video there is no latency or a very low one, but then you will have to connect your IPad with external speakers..and that is a whole different matter, specially since Ipad no longer has 3.5 physical connection. Going true Bluetooth is not the best experience, so I ended up with lot of connectors, and chargers to have a decent setup for a MIDI keyboard with good sound. And if you try to use this with your Yamaha, once again the connection is flawlessly with Ipad, but the capacity to use VST is gone. It seems there is no way to get rid of the Ipad volume while using a VST like Ravencroft or Korg which is really annoying. Once again new connections would be needed, but the whole purpose of going cableless is defeated.
Hi! great video! Is there a device that helps add Bluetooth Audio or Line in to a digital piano? I want to buy Kawai ES110 but it doesn't have Bluetooth Audio or Line in to play GarageBand sounds through the built-in speakers. Thanks👍
Does the transmitter charge up or does it have to be connected to the wall all the time? If it does have to be connected to the wall all the time, then it rather seems to defeat the point - the point being to be wireless. Your keyboard is now tethered to the wall instead of your iPad - big deal! ...... or am I missing something here? Thanks for the video which got much better when you started playing!
Has to be plugged up all the time..and yea but it depends on how you look at it...no matter what the keyboard has to be powered some way some how unless the keyboard is battery powered...but for me...I’m not doing it so the keyboard can be untethered...but because the iPad doesn’t have a headphone jack so I needed a way to transmit midi data wirelessly
How do you get your piano to connect with the power off/power on button? I have the Nektar se49 and the gx61 and cannot get either to work. It says connected but then theirs no sound and the ud-bt01 auto shut down soon after. My akai 25 keys works though (no off/on button)... By the way I'm using garageband.
Mr. John Mike I have brought the product well for whatever reason it's not connecting Bluetooth to my iPad I don't know how long you have to charge it for it to work can you please help jazzy Jeff want to be a musician
Well I guess I am going to have to buy this for my DGX-650. I'm hoping I can use my lightning port on my 8 plus to send out audio via the headphone dongle. We shall see.
I bought it but I don't know why the sounds are great when you touch the keys softly , but when I play hard it sounds Out of tune , do you know what can be the problem? I use a 6th generation Ipad and the Alesis VI61 , thanks
@@Johnmike John, your videos are great. And I like this adapter very much. Better than the Puc+. I want to transmit from my iPad to a Midi device. So if you played on the iPad keyboard in your video it would transmit to the M-Audio Keyboard? The device I want to transmit too is older and only has a 5 pin input. Do you know of an cable adapter that would come out of the USB and go into midi 5 pin? Thanks in advance.
I’m trying to connect to my Yamaha Arius YDP 144 R and it does not recognize it... not even when I got to Bluetooth setting... it does not show... help please!
hi John Mike! can you share whether there is a bluetooth studio monitor that can connect to DAW with low latency as well? i HATE cables, i wanna connect and link up my DAW/KB/Studio monitor speakers thru BT only. and if this is possible, does it mean that i bypass audio interface device? many thanks in advance....
i bought this after watching this video but it doesn show what the cable is going into the piano, my silent piano has no 'usb to host' what you want me to do
Hi. i see, you use Ipad Pro. Great. I wand use similar, but only some piano, pad sounds and scores, nothing else. Instead of real midi sound module. What do you think, which is the cheapest Ipad that can still be used normally for this? Thanks.
So - I buy a $6500 piano that says it can "connect and record straight to your phone via bluetooth!" ....only to find out in order to use this feature, you need to purchase a separate $60 adapter. So I buy that. ...........only to find out the goddamn $60 adapter DOESN'T COME WITH A POWER SUPPLY, so I have to spend another $10 to turn this thing on. What the hell, Yamaha!??!?
Yep, this. Not quite a $6500 piano, but I bought a Yamaha P-125 thinking I could use this, but having to power it as well as wiring it into the piano, kinda means it's a bit pointless for me. Thanks for the video though John, I was wondering how this thing worked, now I do 👍
John Mike Thanks for sharing this video. I had a quick question, can this same concept using the Yamaha adapter you're using work for making a regular USB typing keyboard have Bluetooth capabilities? As in not a midi keyboard but just like a USB mechanical keyboard? Thanks!
Hi John! Thanks for this video! I have a question I hope you may be able to answer. I'm looking for a solution to connect midi wirelessly to my Windows 8 DAW running Cubase pro 9.5. Is there something like this on the market? I already did a comprehensive search and haven't been able to find anything. Hope you can help. Thanks in advance John. Best!
I am not bright. Please forgive me. Can someone please tell me why this is better then going straight from the keyboard to a tablet? Is it because the tablet lacks a usb port? Does it save the tablet's battery? Does it improve latentcy over a miniusb direct to tablet? Or is it just go wireless? Please anyone answer but be kind I really don't understand.
It’s actually for any of those cases you just mentioned...maybe your computer doesn’t have enough USB ports because you are using them all...maybe your keyboard is drawing too much power from the tablet...but the main reason I got it was because my new iPad came without a headphone jack...so I needed to plug an audio interface to my iPad to get sound from it which of course took up the only USB port that was on the device...so I needed a solution for sending midi to my iPad wirelessly
@@Johnmike thank you for responding. Could a viable solution for audio out on the ipad be the built-in bluetooth of the IPad. And which device are you referring to that gave the Ipad audio out? And 100 more questions. Your answers seem really clear. Thanks. I have a bunch of questions about basic synthisizer stuuff too. Software and hardware.
If you want to be completely wireless, you can use a phone power bank instead of plugging it into the wall. See ua-cam.com/video/mmC41MeNc-Q/v-deo.html for an example.
I gotta tell you.. You are the best in explaining these things, man. Thank you!
Oh dang, you could hook a powerbank up to the other end of that thing (instead of plugging it into the wall) and go full wireless!
i was trying to connect my keyboad ,finally after thousand videos ,i can connect it.
Thank you for reviewing this item. I have a Casio PX-130 and I'm hoping this will allow me to connect to the Piano Marvel app for my iPad.
Thank you for doing these reviews

John Mike is it really better than the Puc in terms of latency?
Lionel Thomas about the same but maybe a little better..
Yamaha has an app where you can update the firmware as well for the ud and bt

Great review !
Would this adpater work with NI Kontrol M32 and allow playing Garageband and stuff on iPad ??
If Yes, I'm going buying both !
Yes it will...And Use my affiliate link in the description when you do!
Excellent review and playing!

Whats the point with a wireless adapter that needs to be plugged in?
Because this one allows you to plug in regular USB keyboards that don’t have built in traditional midi ports
You didn't show what kind of usb it has to connect to the keyboard! Usb type a or type b?
Very useful. Thanks.
What app do you use please?

a powerbank 'd solve the wall problem
Nam Nguyễn exactly. Anyone know which small power bank would work with this ?
zeropoint rebel any...I just used the one from my iPhone
John Mike cool. Thanks man...

Can I do this with a nano kontrol2
Really helpful thank you!

You use it with semi weight key midi controller and set velodyne to heavy touch you will solve that problem
Is it both receiving and sending midi datas?
Yes

hey does this come with the usb cable or did u buy it separately? Ive checked websites and they dont mention that it includes it
It didn’t...I have a ton of these “printer cables” laying around tho so I just grabbed one
Can this play audio from the phone? Like use the keyboard as Bluetooth speaker ?
No
does this work with the arturia keystep? arp and sequencer can be used with it?
Should...don’t know about about the sequencer stuff tho...but I would think that it would
Can I use it with GarageBand
Yes
Auch für av reciver geeignet?
Can I connect with garage band and Fl studio mobile
Yes you should be able to with GarageBand...but not sure about FL mobile

No
How do you send out audio from the ipad like for the monitor speakers xlr and such ?
Check this video I did

Yes cause it’s powered and doesn’t run on batteries

But what if we need the midi controller to me away from the wall, and the pc is by the wall?
Plug it into a portable Powerbank instead? Should last for hours!
Soooooo.... There still a wire somewhere😩😅
If you want to be completely wireless, you can use a phone power bank instead of plugging it into the wall. See ua-cam.com/video/mmC41MeNc-Q/v-deo.html for an example.
