Exactly! I average probably 2 birdies a round but then 2-3 doubles a round.. One of my previous rounds was a 39 front 9 (par 36) with an eagle and birdie). Then a 50 back 9 with 3 triples. haha
B-Dog is becoming such a playa. Remains smiling even when he hits a bad shot, not something that happened when he first appeared on the channel. Wadda boss.
BDawg is relatable to a lot of people on this channel. Seeing him play and improve is not only motivation for himself, but all watching (including myself)!! Great job sir!!
Why I love this golf channel-shows actually relatable golfers with relatable shots to show that improvement is possible with hard work! I am a very big fan of Bdog as he is extremely relatable!
I love this series. Bdog is what all of us mid 80s players feel. Alot of good shots but a few holes that screw us. Keep up the great work. Your mindset has really helped me improve. Getting back into the game after 4 years feels good.
I had this video playing in the back ground and just listening to Matt's reactions to shots was hilarious. Matt, your content is one-of-a-kind, Cheers Bausss
Broke 100 for the first time in my life a couple weeks ago. I could hear you in my head the entire round. “Get it on the green!” Thanks for this content playa
Been struggling with a tee box change and was 3+ rounds without a birdie. Got to my ball after my tee shot, look down on the ground and there’s a good sized feather. I naturally planted it and my approach shot was to 3”. You really can plant feathers and grow birdies!
It’s funny when you go play with buddies and they all try smashing off tees. Balls everywhere. Then I walk up with the 4hyb Tink. About 3/4s their distance but sitting pretty. Then I hit the lay up the the chip. Think they’re still looking for their balls
Matt, all your pupils have come such a long way. His confidence is high. You can tell the times when Bdog has indecision in tricky lies, but that is just more experience. Cannot believe he’s been playing only couple of years.
I'm currently at 3:16 in and I must say; B-Dog isn't killing the ball (like last season). He's romancing it to the opposite direction of his previous round. Using the whole course and finding different vantage points, plus ! Smoothing out that tempo. I love it !! Wadda strategy, wadda difference !! I can already envision a score with about 5 strokes shaved off. Hence forth, I agree with ClaudioSanchezCC. I can't get over it... What a difference from his first season on the channel ! Perfect example of a legend. Wadda life playas ! *much love and respect !*
Yes he definitely has more confidence from the lessons and his mechanics. He now doesn't worry about junk he saw on UA-cam - instead he is trusting what he learned and grinded on the range. There is a huge lesson in that. He was frustrated before implementing junk that didnt apply to him from generic vanilla UA-cam instructors, and trying to hit it like DJ. Now he is using his in person coaches advice and worked hard on something specific for him and BAM
@@GolfSidekick Hellz yeah brother. B-Dog is on the track for awesomeness !! Keep up the good coaching playa, love the content AND the new tunes (especially the jazzy string and brass wind). Love you man ! Peace ✌ P.S. hope you are keeping up the new side bend in the swing thing because it looked golden brother !
Solid round B-Dog! A few short misses (I do the same 🥲) but looked way more confident with the putter in hand. Only a matter of time before breaking 80!
Sidekick's advice to not dwell on bad shots or a poor hole and move on because the next shot or the next hole is an opportunity to turn things around has been so helpful for me. Last night I played the first 3 holes of my course in +4. These are 3 of the easiest holes and, typically, for a good score, I need to nail these and be even par or +1. But I kept a level head and kept methodically trying to play smart shots...and ENJOY playing golf on an August night. Alas, the bogeys kept coming. +7 thru 6 holes. But then it started happening. 6 straight pars followed by a birdie. I ended up shooting 80 (par 70 course). Plus 7 over the first 6 holes but plus 3 over the last 12. Also key was not paying attention to my score. Sure, I knew I was "scoring poorly" and then "scoring better." But I was not using a scorecard or obsessing about the numbers. In fact, I bet I would have double-bogeyed the 18th if I had known that a birdie would have given me a 79. Instead, I played an amazing recovery shot from the trees that rolled up on the green and two putted for a par.
Thanks Playa!! I finally broke 100 after 8 months, scored my lowest gross of 91 (could've been 88 if it weren't for that triple in the last hole) after scoring low to mid 100s in the past few months. Appreciate it!!
Bdog your swing is looking great brother 👍. I can totally relate with your goal of breaking 80 as a mid-high handicap myself. Your progress is impressive.
B-Dog has been putting in some work with the big stick, huh. A little shaky on the chipping, but I just finished watching the 70, 80, 90 video with J Mac from a while back....huge difference in this kid's game. Waddaplaya.
I have had so much fun putting these concepts and attitudes into practice, and it really does make golf more fun. At the risk of you judging me for bordering on advice, what would happen if you threw BDOG’s 60 degree deep into the jungle and had him work with his PW for a while, like you recommended in some of your earlier work?
It's been fun watching Bdog progress. I don't know the characteristics of the grasses you play on and maybe they aren't conducive to the bump and run, but if they are, it's much easier shot to control than pitching to the hold and hoping it stops. Then, rule of 12 for chipping. But, as I stated, I don't know. Good videos.
Bro. I wanna break 80... love the tips... I wil club up next time in the rough... I will stop going for the green in 2 on par 5s pars are good. I take to many risks. Great vid good encouragement
Love watching Bdog’s progress.Might be a good idea to have Bdog play a round where he lays a club on the ground for each shot so he can get the proper feel for correct alignment.
The mental aspect is key. You can’t get frustrated even when you make a dumb mistake. Like today I pulled out my 50° instead of my 60° by mistake and carried over the green by 20 yds. But instead of complaining and getting frustrated over such a stupid mistake, I stayed calm and got up and down for par.
Love the dogs vid. After his follow through, ask him if he can hold the club in left hand instead of right. I haven’t been able to do it. He’s got my habit
So when is your trip to America I applied to play with you and also how much longer does a round take having to set up the camera before every shot and curious
Truth playa. Lots of practice and some correction on the hook spin on the short game. It's amazing to see the closing off and hook action on putts, chips, pitches, irons, driver. Everything in golf is related.
Rooting for the B Dog, but Playa, do we not think his extremely strong grip is leading to inconsistency? I understand it’s probably comfortable and seems to work off the tee, but his iron game suffers for it.
Wondering if the tendency to hit right off the tee is down to a slight shank and could be solved by standing an inch or two further away from the ball? Maybe the lies need checking?
I used to think that too Tony, but I think since subscribing to George Gankas academy, this is less of a concern. I was always of the opinion BDog is too close to the ball, but that was my untrained eye. I don't want to mess with it too much because then when the shank or hook happens in the first couple swings, then it's an immediate blame on the moving further away move and is moved ot the back of the mind until a pro tells the person to do it. Then they believe it.
BDog is lethal with the driver. And the approaches are pretty good, totally useable. Unfortunately the short game suffered a bit this round and cost him. I’m positive he’ll be breaking 80 very soon. Like a baus. Nice round playas!

@@GolfSidekick SW FLORIDA golfer here Bermuda rolls good. I hate a tight Bermuda fairway. Almost would like seeing my ball in 1cut just outside the fairway lol

@@GolfSidekick yep it takes practice. But even with no practice, for me it's easier to chip up a 50° with no experience than to hit a full lob wedge. Maybe it's just me.
