Honestly, the idea that a government can control what people choose to do in private or public is beyond absurd. If they could, there would be no laws and no prisons. I attend a political club and meet/campaign for local GOP representatives. I've met with and talked face to face with our sheriff (who is literally member of GOP) and he is NOT on board with this type of tyranny.
Most politicians are authoritarian elitists who despise you and your rights, regardless of the color of their tie. The red team is slightly less aggressive about violating your 2A rights, but precious few of them are willing to stand up for your gun rights in even the smallest way.

Being cowardly isn't the same as being tyrannical.
Believe me, I'm pissed at at most of my representatives. I'm in Washington state and I contacted all my reps to stop 1240 which bans most semiautomatic firearms here.
I wanted a filibuster, but they just spent their given 5 minutes to argue against it. No spine. They emailed and said "sorry, Democrats had super majority. Nothing we could do to stop it."
But that is NOT the "same bird" as the democrats who DIDNT EVEN ARGUE...they skipped their 5 minutes to comment on bill and just pushed it through faster.
I campaigned in 2022 door to door handing pamphlets. I attend town meetings and a political club. I am being active in this battle for right to firearms. I have met almost all my local & state representatives. Only in this way will criticism have meaning/weight to our words.
A broad brush "all politicians are same" criticism won't change a damn thing. It's untrue and can be waved away. Hold our representatives to their specific promises and challenge them when they are wrong or weak on issues.
Keep on fighting.
But in the end the bill still passed. I'm of the opinion that any politician who won't stand up for my gun rights needs to lose his next election. If we can do that in the primary, great. But if it takes losing to a Democrat, so be it. They need to understand my support is conditional. They don't get it automatically just for being a Republican. Politicians have to FEAR the election consequences of their votes.
PA resident and voter here. I called Regan and for good measure emailed my PA senator (Ryan Aument, a concealed carrier who conducts classes on PA CC law) asking him to urge Regan to stop this in committee.

The full auto Glock thing is stupid. My P365X macro went full auto on its own after about 30 to 40,000 rounds. I had to replace almost every internal part to get it to shoot to semi auto again.
