    I love my CPD, they're in a heavily planted 10 gallon much like yours and they NEVER hide. They're such a handsome fish and their behavior is so lively and appealing.

    I have a very heavily planted 40b with CPDs, Emerald Rasboras, and Sparkling Gouramis. I also tap gently on the glass for feeding time and they all come swimming out from the plants to the front of the tank! 😊

    I have a group of 9 adult dwarf emerald danios, CPDs' cousins also from Lake Inle. Care is similar, and I have them in a 20L. They hang out mostly on the bottom and are shy, but I recently added guppies to liven up the tank. Also, my 9 has turned into 20+ of various ages - love it! The oldest is about half grown and already coloring up nicely! Guppies will help ensure I don't get too many more.

    Cool video! I have 9 cpd’s in my 9 gallon flex and have had them for 5 months and that tapping on the glass before feeding works so well! I almost didn’t get them because I kept reading about how shy they are! My cardinal tetras in my other tank are way shyer haha thanks for all the info!

    Love CPDs! Mine have never been shy and will even eat directly from my hand. I think it's because I keep them with my juvenile Guppies, shrimp and Otos, who are afraid of nothing. If a baby fish feels safe, then they feel it too.
    Thanks for mentioning the moss, I did not know this and will add some soon!

    Beautiful footage and fish! Love the shrimp, too, that green one towards the end with a white stripe was a coloration I haven't seen before. I also have CPDs and I LOVE them. I have a 29 gallon tank that's heavily planted (flame and Christmas moss, sword plants, and a jungle of cambomba), with ember tetras, CPDs, and gold laser corys. Like yours, my nano fish are not shy (I think having a heavily planted tank really helps them feel braver). I have produced exactly 1 baby CPD out of it, lol. Only 1 but he's a feisty one. I call him Fry Guy and he thinks he's the biggest fish but he's actually the smallest, lol. Also live with Inca snails and a lot of neo shrimp like you show there. It's a great tank, so much fun to watch. Thanks for sharing your beautiful tank!

    Hi Chris, herzlichen Dank für dieses schöne Video! Ich hatte 15 von diesen wunderschönen Gesellen in einem 120l Becken; leider sind alle, bis auf einen im Laufe von 15 Monaten gestorben. Immer im Abstand von etwa einem Monat. Aufgrunddessen wollte ich mir eigentlich keinen neuen anschaffen, aber mich dauert der einsame Überlebende derart, dass ich nun überlege ihm zumindest ein paar Artgenossen zur Seite zu stellen. Es hätte mich sehr interessiert, einmal eine Komplettaufnahme des besagten Aquariums zu sehen - auch als Anregung für die geplante Neugestaltung. Kannst du wohl ein Foto nachreichen? Viele Grüße aus NRW, Barbara

    This messing around with names is getting ridiculous. If this is a Danio, then let's call it a Danio. If it's a Rasbora, call it a Rasbora.

    • @chrislukhaup
      @chrislukhaup  3 роки тому

      that is true and thats why i always use latin names..but most people dont. i would not even use common names if it was after me..

      @@chrislukhaup Except you can't trust scientific names to stay the same either. Apart from what happened to the Rasbora genus, I've seen a number of genera dismantled and reassembled just among killifish (my specialist interest). Rivulus, Aphanius, Aplocheilichthys, Cynolebias... they've all been taken apart over the last 15 years or so. Often all it takes is one paper to be published without ratification from any central body and everything you thought you knew is wrong.
