    I don’t usually get to the end of this type of video but, on this occasion, I did so your production ideas worked well.
    No hot drink to start the day?

    • @BenjaminWilcock
      @BenjaminWilcock  3 роки тому

      Ah thanks so much! Glad it didn’t put you to sleep haha. No, no hot drink and i just eat cold food. Treat myself in towns and that. I’m a massive tea drinker at home and a brew on trail just tastes crap so I don’t bother. Thanks for watching, honestly I really appreciate it. ✌️ Ben.

      @@BenjaminWilcock : When people pull things out of their sacks, listing each item, I lose track of how each system comes together. The visuals and noise cues you used were a big help.
      In his most recent video, shugemery used two completely different pieces of equipment for making coffee out of home ground beans. I guess some people take their drinks more seriously than I do. For me, that first brew, whether tea or coffee, is what I need for getting the day started. I can't imagine going without that heart starter.
      Cheers for the video. It was good viewing.

      Thanks 🙏🏻 I’ll take note of that and implement it in future gear videos. I tried to unpack and give explanation along the way so it wasn’t just showing stuff. I’ve actually got a kind of reversed video of sorts in the works on how i actually pack my bag and the reasons behind the way it’s packed. Hoping to make it interesting by actually filming the stages of braking down a camp everything being in the bag ready to walk. 👌. Haha I go without tea if I need to because at home I drink way too much. 👌✌️

      @@BenjaminWilcock : In fairness to everyone who works hard on a rucksack content video, even an ultralight set up can involve more than 60 different items. It's not easy to sustain interest if going through everything. Perhaps a system at a time, with summer and winter options, is the way to do it. Graphics, tables and so on always help those of us who find listening a bit of a challenge. I guess I ought to have a go myself one of these days instead of pretending to be a know-it-all.

    Nice one mate! Thanks for dropping some comments in my video so I could find your channel. Subed and found you on Insta as well. Nice kit, and like the calm way you break things down and get into detail. I miss the UK, been there a bunch and love it, especially Scotland (and I root for Scotland's football team as well, glad they made it this time around!). I've not had a chance to do any hiking trips yet, but would love to in the future. Bad year for planning trips tho. So are top hammock quilts just as good to use with sleeping mat as more based tent quilts?

    • @BenjaminWilcock
      @BenjaminWilcock  3 роки тому +1

      I really couldn’t say about any other hammock top quilts as I’ve got used them. As for the Cumulus Taiga it’s brilliant! It has zig zag elastic on the back opening that you can secure down against a mat. In terms of designed say it’s very similar to the katabatic palisade, altough the top baffles on the cumulus the baffles at the top are Vertical.

    Hi bud, wats your quilt rated to and does it work properly with that pad, I thought u had too use inflatables with quilts to work?

    • @BenjaminWilcock
      @BenjaminWilcock  3 роки тому +1

      I think the standard version with the 850 fill down is 30f / -1c Yeah it’d work brilliant with a pad but I’ve just chosen to take off the elastic pad attachments and just sleep on a thin matt. It’s definitely situational though & depending on weather I’m expecting. I’m yet to try it with my NeoAir Xlite mattress. Thanks for checking out the video by the way. ✌️ Ben.
