I don't have the grill expander but I don't think it would fit. The rib rack won't fit with sloroller installed. You have 4 1/2 inch clearance from grate to dome with SloRoller Installed.
Thank you for the video! I cooked my first brisket flat on the KJ II using a slo roller this past weekend and was really happy with how it turned out. I actually used the divide and conquer rack with the slo roller so I could fit a drip tray underneath the brisket. I didn't even think about the clearance to the top but now that I took a second look, it must've been really close to hitting the top. How do you clean your slo roller pieces since I saw you didn't use a drip tray? I'm thinking I may have to go that route for the next time I have a thicker piece of meat.
I'm so glad your first brisket went great. It's such a fun process cooking bbq. I'm glad the care & maintenance video answered a few of those questions.
Great video. Do you see this as a useful replacement for deflector plates or just for longer cooks? Asking because I just broke a plate & trying to weigh the difference between the two.
Thank you. Its especially helpful for longer cooks for low n slow. You do loose some capacity on some with sloroller. But, I'm like the difference I'm seeing in my cooks.
@@BartlowsBBQ I can see if I buy a full 16 pounder it may not fit with the slow roller right? I have it and have already did a flat with success. My next challenge is doing a full and I'm learning as much as I can before I buy one. Thank you so much for posting your cooks!
@@BartlowsBBQ Be careful using oils/fats as binders. Salt will not dissolve in fat/oil and it will keep the salt in your rub from being as effective in seasoning your beef.
@@ManCaveMeals Thank you so much John for the tip. I didn't know that and was put onto Duck Fat from a few other chefs and bbq folks. Out of curiosity, what binder do you use? Sometime, I don't use a binder. How do you utilize duck fat spray? Appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment.
Please have a talk with your children. If they decide to play hide and seak in those coolers when you are not around, there could be a tragedy in your family. Hopefully they have outgrown them now and no longer fit.
I was so curious if it would fit. Awesome work
Thank you so much, James. It was fun putting this one together with some trimming and oak wood to drip over did the trick.
Wow, look yummy and delicious 👍👍
Thank you so much! It was delicious! Thanks for watching!
Great video man! Brisket is the king of BBQ! I really need a Kamado.
Thank you & agree! Love my Kamado Joe's!
Man that brisket looks delicious. also nice review of capacity for the slow roller.
Thank you so much and delicious!
Could you fit 2 briskets if you have expander rack and don’t use slow roller and just deflectors?
That's a great question. I haven't tried that but I imagine you could depending on the size.
Great video! Very helpful.
Thank you so much.
Wow great and yummy recipe this looks so amazing
thank you for sharing, Thumbs up 👍
You are welcome and thank you so much! Appreciate you watching!
New sub here! Post oak and brisket, a match made in heaven!
Awesome, great to connect! Love the post oak on Brisket! So good!
Oh yeah post oak is always way to go on brisket. I definitely need to try some more of the Kosmos rubs. Awesome cook for sure.
Thank you! Yeah, love post oak on brisket and enjoy the beef rub from Kosmosq. Thanks for watching!
I came here to make sure I could smoke a brisket before I bought this bad boy. Looks amazing.
That's awesome and good luck on your brisket cook. Thank you for watching!
Will grill expander even fit? Like for example if I’m just doing a butt load of wings or a few racks of ribs

Lol very sensual brisket closeup
😂 Thanks for watching!
Great learning video. Thank you! Did you need to ever reload more fuel or did what you show when you loaded your Joe last all the way?
Thank you. Loading the charcoal lasted the entirety of the cook. Most lump charcoal will go the distance but I use Jealous Devil or KJ.
Very cool!!
Thank you!

Just kidding on my question. Just watched your Care & Maintenance video which had a section dedicated to the SloRoller!

Bend it like Bartlow!

@@dadlovestofish When buying a full packard, aim for 12-18, then you'll trim excess hard fat off that will take it down some pounds.
Great video! You nailed that pull test!
Thank you, Max. It was so delicious and cool to see how quickly it pulled a part!
I haven't tried the duck fat in lieu of olive oil. I'll have to give that a try next time.
Thanks so much! I have been enjoying using duck fat lately as a binder. Great on a lot of things.

Where did you get the table set up for the kamado Joe?
It's from J.J. George Outdoors.
@@BartlowsBBQ thanks! Oh and the brisket looked fantastic. Great job
@@ejmart01 Thank you so much!
Do you need to put anything to catch the drippings ?
I wrap the top of the sloroller in foil.
You could do a small skinny pan. I'm looking into the size that will fit.
16in pizza pan rapped in foil works great
Wow..
Thank you! Appreciate you watching & checking out the channel!

Nice video man, exciting to see you can rock a brisket with the sloroller!
