    This has always been one of my favorite aircraft because the sound of those radial engines is so spot on and they nailed it! BTW... One of these flew over my town in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho last week as I was outside and I think it's the first one I've ever seen in my 55 years and it was amazing listening to it fly over me and it was very low and you could see all the detail and it was the 2 tone blue. Beautiful!

      I had my grandparents who lived one step away from Couer d'Alene, in Hayden to be precise. I have some really good memories of the summers I spent there.

    I bought this aircraft few months ago. It is one of the most fun aircraft to fly around. It is raw, the sound is awesome and it does its job gracefully.

    Love the sound of these engines! The Goose is as epic as can be! Gonna get her someday soon in MSFS. Great video, informative, entertaining, and grand landing at the end ;)

    It's my next plane. I got their Grumman G44, gotta love those amphibians. Don't forget to play the Duck Tales theme when in flight.

    one of the best in the sim! It is so much fun to fly and land darn near anywhere you want! Great video!

    One of my favourite sighseeing planes. Took me a while to work out how the autopilot works (it's a gyropilot, not an autopilot, derrrrrr) but now it's superb. You can do that approach no problem, you just overshoot a bit then touch down after the beach and taxi back to the airport. It's not called an amphibian for nothing :) Just remember to put the wheels down before you run out of water, you wouldn't be the first youtuber to forget ... LOL and you'll find it starts a lot better if you prime it by pumping the throttles to full and back a couple of times before you start, and stays where you anchor it a lot better if the engines aren't running :)

    The switch near the top right of the centre console (20:09) is the gyro pilot. Wonderful bird, still my favourite plane overall. She has a bigger sister called the Albatross. I've seen a real one on YT converted into a flying mobile home, incredible. Search "duncan aviation interior installation" to see it

    Aerosoft has the best PBY back in MSFS. It is slow but joy to fly, especially with Duke Ellington tunes playing in the background. Hopefully MSFS has a similar quality of PBY

    You looked too fast and didn't notice... When you change what they call the wheel hubs they put a white hubcap over the top of the wheel and then when you clicked them off, you missed it, because they went back to the wheel without the hubcap. White with caps, black wheel without... Why they actually call them wheel hubs is misleading because you're not putting hubs on you're putting a cap over the hubs... hence hubcap.

    Great aircraft. The wheel hubs are like where the alloys are on cars. Covers the side of the tyre basically. Also you should probably get pushback before you start those massive engines haha!

    The hub switch changes the pattern of the wheels from a solid wheel to a spoked wheel.

    The hub’s are the white center hub caps that blend the wheels with the aircraft, hub caps like a cars ;)

    😏...Ohhh...Kaayyy.... That landing would have been a front-page headline in the village gazette news paper! You have to wonder how far the nearest emergency room hospital is from that airport.
    I've landed there several times and I think I averaged about two go-arounds for every landing. I'm not sure what takes more nerve, landing a plane there, or driving in slow, bumper-to-bumper, rush-hour traffic and finding yourself stopped on the road, (lined up with the runway) just as a commercial liner is bringing it to the threshold for a touch down.
    Seriously, I'd probably get out of the car and jog away from the street until the plane coasted by. But then, that's just me...
    FWIW

    Yea the caps on the wheels are for keeping debris out when transitioning from water to land some good videos online in Alaska of guys landing in bays putting the gear down and riding up on the beach an YES to the pby there's is a free one but it's a work in progress

  • @PilotFlo
    @PilotFlo Рік тому

    Nice thing here in this plane is, if the runway is too short for you, you can roll in the water and start from there.

  • @PilotFlo
    @PilotFlo Рік тому

    IRL the Goose has no water rudder. Your supposed to steer with differential thrust. Which is insane

  • @Foxtrot_EW
    @Foxtrot_EW Рік тому +2

    By the way, the new vampire that came out last week on Marketplace uses differential braking...
    Oh! By the way that was a great choice because I love flying in the same area but I found a place even more beautiful that you need to try! So it's actually a point of interest so it's modeled with beautiful textures and it's over in the mediterranean off of Malta. It's the Dingli cliffs. I think you ought to try it in one of the amphibious planes like this aircraft because when you pull up next to it it's not all dripping down like everything else in the sim and the cliffs are all modeled so your background is absolutely stunning with the blue mediterranean water! You'll love it!

    • @ravenn22
      @ravenn22 Рік тому

      yep, obviously differential braking works fine.... they just don't require you to use it on planes like the SR-22... probably a design choice for new users / xbox users

    The differential braking absolutely works in many planes, I use it all the time. Did you mean it doesn't work in this particular aircraft?

    • @OverkillSimulations
      @OverkillSimulations  Рік тому

      Sorry I meant exclusively. As in the rudder pedals will always steer the aircraft. Differential braking is not required..I hope that makes sense what I'm referring to lol. It's late now lol

    I loved riding Chalks goose flights to the Bahamas. I got to fly one of them when no one else was on the plane (part 91 reposition)
