How did this game escape my attention all these years? I was looking for Nick Chubb & Todd Gurley games; which are interesting and exciting. I don't care who won most games that are 2+ years old; just that I don't remember or ever knew the outcome. Spoiler in the description? No problem; I watch a game a day (Coronavirus in NYC sucks); in 10 days there's no way I remember anything except: Gurley and Chubb carry the Bulldogs; and hatin ass Spurrier still coached Gamecocks.
There was a big drop off in talent for the 2014 Gamecocks as compared to the five previous years with the exception of the O-line. Recruiting fell off badly starting in 2011. The front four was nothing special nor was the secondary. Except for Moore, the D was just average. Cooper, Byrd, Davis, Anderson on offense were good skill players players but nothing compared to players like Alshon, Lattimore, and Shaw. 2010-13 D’s were stacked, Gilmore, Robertson, Ingram, Clowney, several others. OBC trusted and delegated too much to his assistants, especially Ward and Junior, so by 2015, the roster wasn’t capable of competing in the east anymore.
The offense was the best it ever was that year. The most passing yards in a season Great running backs. Highest points per game scored in gamecock history. Most total yards in school history. A decent defense and that team would have been lethal.
South Carolina upsetting a top 10 Georgia is one of the few constants in this world. Doesn’t matter what year or how good Georgia is or how bad South Carolina is, both teams know that it can and will happen eventually.

One of the most underrated games of the 2010s
I never thought in all my life I'd hear Verne Lundquist and Gary Danielson discuss Darude - Sandstorm.
Man I can’t wait until we have these type of seasons again 🐔🐔🐔

Super Spurrier was a good coach
Awesome game! One game at a time. Thanks again Taylor for doing us a great service by posting here.
One of the great games in the last 10 years now WOW.
Gamecocks own Bulldogs!! 4-1 in 5 years!
2015 52-20 buddy
Oh yeah, we got demolished. Trouble in Cockyville. That's what happens when you play no defense.
A lot of great years to remember under the Spurrier Era. Probably will be a while before we reach that level of play again. We will see
Jamal Walker lol
Carolina panthers no nattys for u though
Spurrier gave Georgia fits

Nah Brah, you actually lost. Like you’ve done so many times when you’ve faced a Spurrier coached team.

Poor Georgia ... always such a struggle with Spurrier ... lol.
Kevin Mitchell in 2015 poor UGA that struggles with SC sent Spurrier into retirement! 🤣
Love Church NOPE BC HE WAS GEORGIAS DADDY
Spurrier was 16-7 vs Georgia. Even when Georgia had a talent advantage when he was at South Carolina they had a hard time beating him.
Spurrier actually won
not this year
uga keith No, we will be lucky to win 6 games this year. I suspect Georgia beats us easily.
+John Strickland good call lol.. I hope we can beat Missouri... but LSU will kill us lol
