    Glad you're doing white2tea. Really hard to come by !

    I wouldn't really call this blind tasting since you saw dry leaves and there was a noticible difference.

    I get that soapy flavor you describe when I let my steep times go for too long. I think 30 seconds for a first steep is crazy high for my brewing styles, I would probably start most young pu'erh at flash steeps. It could be different for every tea, but I would be interested in hearing your thoughts on that 680 steeping for shorter times

      I just ordered another sample of the 680, so going to figure out if it was the tea or just me!

      680 is a tea that requires flash steeping - 30 seconds, yikes!

      @@carykrosinsky3957 Lol, don't worry it wasn't because I over-steeped it! Check out my newest video if you'd like to find out what happened.

    I really like 680 when I crave an immediate sweetness on my puerh, I’m so used to waking up that sweet profile on puerhs after the 6th brew and it’s refreshing to be able to taste it on 680’s first brew. Maybe try a cold brew to see if it’s easier to detect?

    • @tearush
      @tearush  2 роки тому +1

      Yea, I'm going to order a new sample. I brewed that one every which way and never even got a sliver of sweetness, but everyone keeps saying how sweet it is. So we'll see if it's just me, or if there was something up with the sample we received.

  • @ryuukin178

    680 was good in my opinion. It was pretty sweet for a raw pu erh and the astringency was nice and not too overpowering

      I've heard this from three people now, and I'm starting to wonder if there's something off with my sample. I've tried it three times and have yet to get any sweetness. I'm going to order another sample to see if it's me or the tea.

      @@tearush I feel like it was sweet for a raw. Sweet could be mean different things to different people so perhaps it may come down to taste buds honestly

    I started drinking Puerh tea today, its amazing, great energy from it. It is from Jeju Island in South Korea, and tastes great and smooth, no bitterness. It is around 20 USD for 100 grams. I brew mine for many minutes, like it strong. Cheers. Thanks for the redemption video.

      Pu erh tea from where ? 😂
      Pu erh tea should come from Yunnan (or Laos). What you have called out is for excellent green tea, but I doubt they have the big leaf tea trees to make pu erh of.

      @@predatorofthehaters4987 Balhyocha - a dark tea which is technically in the same category as pu erh, but with unique Korean twist. Tastes awesome like no other tea.
      There's another unique dark tea called Goishicha from Japan, pressed into bricks, also technically can be called pu erh and it's amazing in its own unique way.
      But yeah, I wouldn't compare both to classic Chinese stuff and call it 'I started drinking Puerh tea today'.

    Im a puerh virgin and i want my first experience to be amazing, any suggestions as to your all time favorite that is readily available?

    • @tearush
      @tearush  Рік тому +2

      My recommendation for a first experience would probably be Fortune Teller from white2tea. It has enough age where it won't be over powering or too bitter, but is still young enough to have good sweetness and not too much funk or earthiness. I personally find it pretty addictive. If you want to try fresher material, I'd also add in some samples of Hypnotrain, Dance, and Sambas to that order. Then set aside a couple hours to just enjoy the experience and watch how the tea unfurls itself over 10 to 15 steeps. Puer can be an acquired taste, but if you catch the bug there's no going back. Hope you have a wonderful first session!

    Although I haven't had 680, I've tried well over 100 teas from W2T and not a single one has been unpleasant when I figured out how to dial in the brew. You should really make sure your brewing is on point before you start trashing tea from a reliable vendor with highly curated teas. I'm definitely going to get a sample of 680 next time I order and make some recommendations on how to brew it.

    • @tearush
      @tearush  2 роки тому +5

      Please do, and let us know! W2T is one of our favorite vendors btw. Taste is subjective though, and we're not going to enjoy every tea from any single vendor.

    You’re wrong! How I feel about tea is correct and your belief is wrong. That about sums up most of the comments here. Regardless of how you brew tea people are defensive of teas they enjoy or love, that’s for sure. It’s very clear that you don’t enjoy very sweet/floral/mineral teas.
