  • You’ve all seen the start of this build as part of our Hard Work, Fast Bikes, Good Times series. We had intended to bring you end to end on this entire build, however some extended delays on parts, put this project on ice for about 18 months. Now complete and run in, Purpose Built Moto’s first chopper build is something I’m proud to stand behind as a great example of where our skills have brought us.

    How costly was this build? Did this run you? If you don't mind me asking.

    yes, nice! i can't say i like that fisheye lens or whatever you've got going on with those road shots. makes me kinda seasick and distorts the lines. but the bike is primo.

    Soo good. Didn't like the seat, but for some reason by the end of video I found the lines and really liked it. Didn't want to run a smaller back wheel with bigger bag for some suspension? Hope to see it in the flesh some day, super impressed. I'd personally have made a rear hand brake for more feel and balanced looks.

    You think you could stick a tx750 in that frame relatively easy. I have a dead xs650 and the opportunity to get the tx750 for cheap.

    • @PurposeBuiltMoto
      @PurposeBuiltMoto  8 місяців тому

      It would be possible, but you’re better off just rebuilding the XS engine

    • @timh1187

      @@PurposeBuiltMoto what’s your thoughts on that. If everything lines up relatively close and just needs minimal adjustment. Would it not make for a healthy cheap power upgrade.

      Look at the reviews for the TX750 and the specs
      There’s a reason they only lasted for 3 years in production.
      The XS650 went for over 15

    Yes that's it. That exhaust pipes are too narrow, no bass line but excellent. Beautiful bike.

    Having owned both xs1 and xs2 back in the early 80's i turned my xs2 into a full chopper using a old bsa tank modified for my bike. There was only one other xs650 of worthiness in my opinion and that was a bobber similiar in the looks to your machine. Casino in Nth N.S.W. was our location at the time. I went on in later years riding all manner of british and american custom bikes but your machine has invoked many fond memories of owning a custom built xs650 yamaha...

    Forward controls look whack😢 that hurts. I love my hardtail xs650 with apehangers and forward controls. Love your bike to though, awesome job!

      I’m a short guy, and the XS is a small bike, I just think forwards look out of place for what’s a pretty sporty looking chopper

    This is very nice, excellent work! But isn't it a bobber rather than a chopper?

    • @PurposeBuiltMoto
      @PurposeBuiltMoto  9 місяців тому

      This is always such a dumb conversation to engage in, but if it really matters and you want to get definitive. A “Bobber” is a stock bike, with fenders removed and lightened. A “Chopper” is a bike that’s been chopped and modified , in this case we’ve modified the Neck angle, the back bone and built a hard tail.
