The sweetness and devotion to their art of the singers like Dr Mallikarjun Mansur used to be phenomenal.As a resident of Dharwad when Mansurji was at the peak of his eminence, I used to be astounded by his sheer simplicity.I would not imagine a Padmabhushan awardee waiting for state transport buses at Dharwad bus stand regularly.People of Dharwad have taken the greatness of persons like Masurji, Bendre,Rajguruji and likes very casually.Only when you went out of dharwad you realised in what great esteem the people there held these greats.Mansurji gave wondeful recitals everytime he took to the podium
