So any sets that have been filmed in this way...are now destroyed, and being used for pieces ● I originally filmed Singapore to be part of the Lego travel series, but there wasn't enough footage so it seemed like the perfect ending to this instead ● Maisie still hasn't met Ralph and Bella - we're taking our time to ensure they're introduced responsibly. Don't worry, there'll be a video ● Who wants another Half-Asleep Chris video in 4 days?!
Question: why does Chris have to build the sets first and then take them apart brick by brick? Why can't he just build the set brick by brick? Because it'll take a lot longer?
If you like detailed interiors, you're not missing anything by skipping the first three Modulars. Cafe Corner and Market Street have no interiors at all. The Greengrocer has a nice first floor, but the rest is mostly empty. There's a clever grandfather clock, radiator, and barbecue, but they're in big empty spaces.
I don't think he finished the travel journey series, he posted the road tour just as he was on the brink of lockdown in turn, Lego videos came so there were (i think) 6 videos still to put in the series. But hey, this counts as on of life's great mysteries, what happened that was better than whale watching?!
Haha, it was all built slowly over 2-3 months. I'm very lucky in that if I find I'm procrastinating a lot by building loads of LEGO, I can make that into a video, and the procrastination becomes productive
@@HalfAsleepChris ah well 2-3 months is a perfectly acceptable time frame. Glad you're not having to speed build through some of these epic sets and you actually get to enjoy them!
Chris, you are a master at pacing. The stop motion builds and Scrabble text are quite engaging, and of course the overall video and sound editing is brilliant. I hope you were more than half asleep after all of the post production work, you earned at least that much!
It genuinely makes me so happy knowing even if you don't know the monkie kid show you still have some of the sets. The lantern city is my favorite just because that's where nezha mostly appears.
Glad you enjoying being in Singapore Chris! As a Singaporean, its nice to see you build our landmarks. Also fun fact, when it was SG50 (2015), many primary school kids (me included) got the last set for free and we were told strictly that we were not allowed to sell it if my memory serves me right. The cavenagh bridge was one of my favourits to build
I love how you show appreciation for every set, even if its from a franchise you arent familiar with. Also, for the first time ever, i can say "hey! I have that set!" The Sanctum Sanctorum is wonderfully detailed, and yes, does indeed include a ton of easter eggs to the Doctor Strange franchise!

The haunted mansion sets are both very impressive, both the massive scale 2nd empire tower, and the miniature. Two types of things I've always wanted from Lego.
Hi Chris! Thank you so much for posting this video! All the effort you put in just to make us viewers happy is truly amazing. In the meantime I watched some of your old videos over and over again and I can't say I'm getting tired of this. 😄 I have some of the buildings you showed myself. Especially the office set, which I also think is particularly great. Lots of greetings and happy Christmas. Freakfactory
I remember your Singapore travel video, and how you talked about it being such a dream holiday. Now you go there just to build Lego. Congratulations on your success. 🙂 Hope Danielle was able to come along this time, too.
Wow I just got hit with a wave of nostalgia for the SG50 mini lego sets, in primary school we each got a set and i distinctly remember taking it apart and rebuilding the different configurations. Damn getting Lego for free during a school day was pretty metal.
Wow, that was such an amazing video to watch. Incredible, how much work and time you put in as described in the field notes. Thank you. And yes, I would love to see a Half-Asleep Chris video in four days. 😃
I think this one is helping me understand my sons better... every day I wonder how the legos end up exploded all over the place (kids my age didn't do this--we built in a neat pile like good little children)... perhaps my boys just built a tower too high and had to knock it over by throwing other legos at it! That makes more sense than anything I've imagined thus far 😅
Chris! I remember the first time you and Danielle (I hope I wrote it correctly) visited Singapore and were careful with finances. But look at you now, booking one of the best rooms in my opinion and enjoying Singapore knowing you came back as a result of hard work. Prompts to you man, cheers!
Nice video as always. How many brown pieces / dark reds broke on you, especially for the older modulars? I'm surprised you got the Town Hall for a somewhat reasonable price to include it in the video (as well as the others).
İ love rhe amount of effort you put into making such amazing videos. İ also love how you are taking time to make sure the cats and Malsie are introduced properly as you did when introducing both cats. İ constantly see people not taking time and doing proper research when introducing/getting new animals and appreciate seeing this kind of stuff from few people.

Fun fact the 3 in 1 Lego set that you built at the end was given to schoolchildren to commemorate the nation turning 50! I remember receiving one as a freebie in school back then :)
I love Lego architecture, but the last few sets were too expensive, or too big for the space I have. I did endeavor to copy someone’s attempt at a Lego Space Needle, it’s not perfect, and it took me a while to figure out some bricks I’d never seen before (turns out they are Ninjago weapon holders, basically 3 sided plates with three sideways studs on the corners. It’s how the narrowest part of the “legs” are built.) I do wish they had the alternate/original colors for the top as the original paint job was very colorful (for the anniversary year I was visiting they repainted the “Astronaut Orange” on the roof.)
I collect mostly Lego mechs, but as a former architecture student I’d really like to get into collecting buildings as well. And then here’s Chris flexing his collection of every Lego building made in the last few years. Can’t say I’m not jealous 🤣
