Wow! You two are just amazing!! I grew up in New Jersey and moved to upstate NY when I was 19 so this music is completely new to me. These songs were just so beautiful! Thank you so much for sharing your heritage and wonderful voices with us!
What a refreshing video. Thank you and your family for keeping our traditional ways going. Your songs bless my soul. My thoughts and love to each of you.🔥
My mother's favorite! My mother was in a member of her choir for many many years in her church and when she passed away a few years ago a good friend of hers from her choir days sang this song at her service and also at her grave side it is beautiful I have never heard it before I didn't know it was my mother's favorite song until she passed away and I'm very thankful that I know that you guys sing it I love the way
My Daddy also a Pressley was from the beautiful mountains of North Carolina. I grew up listening to all these beautiful songs! My favorite my Daddy played and sang was Orange Blossom Special and Angel Mother. He was a self taught gifted mandolin and guitar player. You girls are so talented. Thanks for keeping the beautiful Appalachian music going!
I am so happy that I stumbled across the Pressley Girls channel. Amazing and beautiful such great talent, this is what UA-cam is supposed to be about. Thank you ladies for sharing your talent.
Think was meant for me to hear this on my break. Was my mammas favorite gospel ❤. Love the fiddle ❤. Nothing better than oldies especially mountain folk My Bama grandpa could play most instruments including ole timey “ juice harp” and sing like a bird. Love y’all ❤❤❤❤❤
My dad had his own bluegrass band and he knew tons of old fetal tunes. He never learned how to read music because he played by ear until he was 65 and he learned how to read music. I went out to his house one day and he was sitting out underneath the oak tree with a music stand and said do you want to hear a Scottish real? I said sure and he said I just learned how to read music a little bit ago so I might not get it perfect. Sounded perfect to me
I just love you sweet gals. So glad I found you. Yep, I went through Brasstown when I lived right over in Martins Creek when I came to Franklin to visit mom and dad. Beautiful music!!!! All my Anderson folk (Scots Irish) played everything. We are all musically inclined. I used to play a tiny bit of piano and organ. Couldn’t anymore, I don’t think. But I’m eclectic on what I like. Your tunes bring back so many memories. 😊❤
That's an old number from the sacred selection,, we all sang that at church. I learned to play guitar on them old songs. And I still sing them today. Thanks y'all sound real pretty,,,,,,,that next song gives me shivers. That's an old tune and I love that fiddle too,,that's real mountian music,, right there son,,,,,,,nice to see you young people carrying on these old traditions. Thanks,,,,,,,,,girls,,

I live in London in the U.K. I have been a folk dance and music enthusiast for over 30 years. I like your style very much. I have followed Carter Family songs and also Johnny Cash. You have the habit of bringing tears to my eyes. In a good way. My mother in law grew up in West Virginia and her favorite hymn was "In the Garden" We played it at her funeral. I wish we had this rendition to play at the time. Angelic singing.
@@SugarCreekOffGrid Mine too! We're from West Virginia so I heard these old tunes and hymns my whole life. My grandmother used to sing a song to us called I Had A Little Rooster. I have only met one other person who knows that song.
Awesome job ladies.⚘ sooo much heart and soul in the genuine love for God and family are the roots that'll hold you safely.... at least they have me through every struggle in life... Some will always snicker, but that's ok... I'll be a hic anyday over never knowing the feeling of home as you so beautiful show in every post you share.... believe it or not, it's exactly the message of love that's being shared again in this world as the solution for all the insane situations we see every night on tv... Know the blessings you hold and it's priceless gift you offer babes... You're worth your weight in gold... Love u all much.. you're a beautiful family. . Even with the squabbles not in there, there's nothing better than home that exists...
Really great video. There's nothing like sibling harmony. I've been to Brasstown many times over the years--to Campbell Folk School, the Friday night jams in the back room at Clay's Corner, and, of course, the Possum Drop. I'm surprised I've not seen you, but will look for you when I'm in the area. Thanks for posting!

Uncle Paul always brings it up a notch and you better be there or you will get left behind but he pulls them up and it is musical genius.

Beautiful - the girls as well as their music!
Thank you! I enjoyed the history, your clear voices and your fiddle and acoustic guitar.
The Garden is one of my favorites. Hear it often at funerals.
Love the girls harmony.
I heard a lot of Irish in these, especially in the second tune! Beautifully performed both! Greetings from Belgium!
Appalachia is full of Scottish and Irish. My grandmother being one. She use to sing to us all the time.
@@SugarCreekOffGrid Mine too! We're from West Virginia so I heard these old tunes and hymns my whole life. My grandmother used to sing a song to us called I Had A Little Rooster. I have only met one other person who knows that song.
It's Scottish and maybe more known in New England than Appalachia but good tunes travel well.
Very few Irish settled in Appalachia. Most were Scots-Irish, who were Scotsmen who settled Northern Ireland.
Thank you ladies
