I love how excited you are about this bible. It does seem like a great one. In fact, I am finding only "out of stock" notification in y search today. thanks for sharing.
Thanks for your review Tim. I have the Schuyler Caxton NLT and I love it. Would love it if they could do this size bible as well, as it's a great mid size between the Quentel and the PSQ. I personally love the 11pt font because it's easier for night time reading, people with vision problems and so easy to mark, circle words etc.
Lovely NLT edition from Schuyler. I'm surprised that Cambridge doesn't publish an NLT in the Clarion, Diadem, or Topaz formats. It seems that Cambridge is missing the boat here; especially as the NLT is growing more and more popular.
So glad to see this video. I have a black (standard yap) pre ordered ... I'm really anticipating this bible ... just like waiting for Christmas to come!
I think the Filament bibles are the best idea for bibles in ages. I love my NLT - just wish it had a little better paper quality (I like to write in mine and in bleeds like crazy).
@@Lessonswithlandon100 I have the study bible on Kindle but I honestly haven't used it much. I like personal size study bibles and I don't think they have one yet 😞
I just ordered a Filament NLT, too. It's not one of my usual translations so a less expensive edition is fine for me. The Filament is a great idea, imo.
Goodness MERCY! I did the thing! (I sure hope it's an affiliate link.) I vacillated between colors: I love the dark green, but I want the full yapp (when I was little, I thought the full yapp on Granddad's Bible meant the bookbinder was too lazy to trim it 😂), and there's no full yapp green; there IS a full yapp in the blue, and while I've wanted a blue Bible for years, I am really drawn to the marbled mahogany. In the end, it was the ribbons that decided me. How silly is THAT?! 😄 SO ... I ordered that gorgeous marbled mahogany full yapp with two brown and one gold ribbon, because I NOTICE the ribbons every time I hold the Bible, even during the actual reading, and I like having more than one color. Heh.
Looks like they finally darkened the font, I always avoided quentels after I bought a nasb quentel and it was such light font...I'm glad they brought the NLT into the fold though.
I preordered the dark purple with full yap. I’ve never had a full yap Bible so this is a first. I was torn between the purple and British tan but the tan didn’t come in full yap. Can’t wait to get it it!
Thanks for the review. It looks great. 10 pt type is too large for my vision issue. Have to stay with in 8-9pt. Very thankful 🙏 for my NLT Thinline Filament in genuine leather. Very nice for $35. 😊
I printed out the pdf and when I saw the 10 pt font I ordered it in regular size black goatskin. I’m hoping the font is large enough, looks like it will be. Thanks, great video!
GREAT question, Shawn… Schuyler’s marbled calfskin is thicker and not nearly as soft as the Allan calfskin. It also has more texture compared to the Allan smoothness. I feel like I have to be VERY careful with my Allan calfskin Bibles, but less so with Schuyler’s.
My black Caxton NLT has the navy liner. I really wanted a black NLT Quentel but the red liner is a deal breaker. I’m gonna have to with the mahogany calfskin. I hope in the future Schuyler will go back to navy liners on black Bibles because it just looks so much more subtle. The red seems to draw your eyes to the edge of the page while the navy just kind of disappears out of focus.
Tim, great review. Love the look and design of this Bible. Had a question for you. What is a good KJV single column premium Bible? Most of the churches that I speak in uses the KJV. I personally like the ESV. I read many translations. However, I would love to have a good preaching Bible.
Hmmm… not a ton of single column KJV options. Schuyler Treveris (and Canterbury is single for poetry). Clarion my Cambridge. Nelson may have some as well.
@@keithfuson7694 I have three Bibles with synthetic covers. In spite of very light use (study Bibles that sit in a nightstand most of the time) they all have issues with flaking. I wish I had spent a few more dollars for the sake of durability.
@@jonasaras I don't have flaking. A little flaking doesn't change the word content which is the most important thing. Paperback bibles are just fine for those who can only afford them. The first Christians didn't even possess or own bibles. Modern believers are so spoiled..Be thankful for what you have.
@@keithfuson7694 In one case (an ESV thinline), the flaking is so bad that it looks like it was sandblasted. And it’s a Bible that was rarely taken out of my nightstand. Thank God that the Greek and Hebrew manscript copies were made of sturdier stuff. If your budget doesn’t accomodate it, that’s fine, but the extra $40 for genuine leather is very much worth the expense IMO.
@@joyful7772 My purple PSQ looks brown, too, even in very good light. The color was a disappointment. Also, the first Firebrick Red I ordered was a beautiful deep true red a few tears ago. The one I just received is some kind of strange burgundy-ish color. It's really not red. Wish their colors were more dependable! But they do make wonderful Bibles!
If some of the Older Quintals have a 40 gsm Paper is the 28 gsm too thin? Specifically, are the pages so thin that they're difficult to turn one page at a time and do they bleed through if you write anything or use a Bible Marker?
I am really excited for more 10pt font Quentels. To me the 11pt is just too large and too cramped. The 10 is a great font and it gives the text some room to breath without being a huge Bible.
Beautiful Bible! But no, 11-pt is NOT too big! I like and need the 11-pt type, That's one of the great things about the Quentels. I hate to see it go in new typesettings. I wonder why they discontinued the Caxton?
I need you to mail me a Quentel so I can see if I’d like it. I love single columns but would love to have all translations in one type of bible instead of having to have to get one of these one of those. I’ll mail it back. I just don’t know anyone that has one 😢
As a lifelong lover of the NLT, Schuyler publishing an NLT Quentel is a dream come true. It looks wonderful!
Oh yeah!
I love NLT. I never would have been able to comprehend a lot of the Bible without it.

Can’t wait for mine to come! I pre ordered the Marbled Merlot
Same here. Can't wait to see what it looks like.
Can’t wait to see this video! I have a green one that should be coming soon😊
I will buy the green one.
I intended to get the green, but the design of the full yapp won me over, so I chose the marbled mahogany.

That's so awesome!!!🤓 It took me a long time to get around to getting into the NLT. It's an awesome gift to bible reading. Great initial review.
Thanks!

I really like that the cross-references aren't superscripted into the text!
Appreciate you sharing this Bible, Tim. I've pre-ordered one of these, along with an RSV. I'm anxiously awaiting the November delivery.
Good choice!
Beautiful new edition Tim. Thank you for sharing this one and thank you also for the update on the font. 👌🙏

They should redo all to a 10 point font. I agree, the 11 point is a bit big
Really enjoy my NLT purple Quentel. Not a full yapp fan.
I’m wondering how the 28 gsm paper of this NLT differs from the ESV heritage legacy bible if you know, thanks Tim!
Definitely enjoyed this video. ❤
Thanks for watching!
It’s about time for an NLT that’s not disposable

My $90 flex cover Bibles are not disposable. With a good cover they will last me 20 years or more.

Csb or nlt quentel? Which one for reading and doing devotions?
I'd lean towards the NLT simply because of the slight changes to the typeface... but the CSB PSQ is one I'm excited about.
